About Paul Shackelford

I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, but grew up in and currently reside in Northwest Ohio. I met my wife in Toledo, Ohio. We have been married for more than 30 years and have two daughters.

Paul Shackelford purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Paul Shackelford chose Tennessee

Being a native of Tennessee, I have long wanted to purchase property to enjoy during my visits to the area. Because I love this area so much, I wanted to share my property with family and friends. I also want to share the beauty of the mountains with newcomers or long time visitors of the Smoky Mountain region.

What makes this cabin unique

We chose this property for many reasons. We really enjoy the all-wood cabin and beautiful mountain view from the hot tub or upper balcony. This property offers a serene, peaceful experience, but is also located conveniently close to many major tourist attractions. It is about 20 minutes away from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so there is always something near by to entertain you. So whether you are looking for a quiet, relaxing day in the mountains or an exciting day or evening in town, this is the perfect cabin for you!

Absolutely Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is absolutely perfect, just far enough outside of town to really take in the outdoors but close enough for easy access to everything the area has to offer. The cabin itself was stocked with everything we needed, very charming and clean. The drive up at night was a little intense but we had an incredible time. Can't wait to come back. Thanks again for having us.

Beautiful cabin! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend here, and absolutely loved it! Perfect location! Tucked away and private, but still convenient to everything in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Owner was super helpful, and responded very quickly when we had a question while staying there. Looking forward to going back!

Great cabin and wonderful owners, you will love it 💕

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is the perfect place to stay if you want beautiful views, peace and quiet and still be close to all the attractions in the area. It was easy to find the cabin (following the owners directions) and the roads are paved all the way to the cabin's front door. It was great hiking in the Smoky Mountains, or shopping in town. Then home to watch the sunset while relaxing on the back porch. At night you can see the star lit sky through the large window above the front door, while relaxing on the couch. There are so many restaurants in town, you'll have a hard time choosing where to get your next meal. The kitchen is fully stocked, so you can cook, or grill if you prefer. There was a bag of charcoal and lighter fluid, as well as tin foil waiting to be used. The cabin is very clean, the bed upstairs was very comfortable. (I want a rustic bed frame like it) Attention to small things, like a programmable coffee maker, alarm system, huge selection of DVD movies, make this cabin the perfect place to stay. Paul & Cindy were readily available to answer any questions. Great cabin & wonderful owners, and the people in Tennessee are very friendly, it was a total pleasure being there!

Best trip ever!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly as pictured, absolutely beautiful. Paul and Cindy were more than helpful and always responded in a timely manner. There was a snow storm while we were here and we had every bit of 11inches. Although we couldn't leave the cabin, it was beautiful and we had even more fun just hanging out in the cabin by the fireplace and playing pool. Our favorite memory would be sitting in the hot tub while the snow poured down on us. Paul even offered to let us stay more nights if we couldn't get out to go home, thankfully we got out but such excellent customer service. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us and we will most definitely be back.
