About Paul Shackelford

I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, but grew up in and currently reside in Northwest Ohio. I met my wife in Toledo, Ohio. We have been married for more than 30 years and have two daughters.

Paul Shackelford purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Paul Shackelford chose Tennessee

Being a native of Tennessee, I have long wanted to purchase property to enjoy during my visits to the area. Because I love this area so much, I wanted to share my property with family and friends. I also want to share the beauty of the mountains with newcomers or long time visitors of the Smoky Mountain region.

What makes this cabin unique

We chose this property for many reasons. We really enjoy the all-wood cabin and beautiful mountain view from the hot tub or upper balcony. This property offers a serene, peaceful experience, but is also located conveniently close to many major tourist attractions. It is about 20 minutes away from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so there is always something near by to entertain you. So whether you are looking for a quiet, relaxing day in the mountains or an exciting day or evening in town, this is the perfect cabin for you!

Best trip ever!

This cabin is exactly as pictured, absolutely beautiful. Paul and Cindy were more than helpful and always responded in a timely manner. There was a snow storm while we were here and we had every bit of 11inches. Although we couldn't leave the cabin, it was beautiful and we had even more fun just hanging out in the cabin by the fireplace and playing pool. Our favorite memory would be sitting in the hot tub while the snow poured down on us. Paul even offered to let us stay more nights if we couldn't get out to go home, thankfully we got out but such excellent customer service. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us and we will most definitely be back.

We absolutely love this cabin and will definitely be coming back! Paul was so helpful throughout the whole process, and when we heard about the fires the beginning of December he went to visit himself just to make sure there were no issues before our trip!

Great Cabin / Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Mountain Mischief. The location was perfect - easy drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but secluded enough to feel "away from it all". The cabin has everything you need so you'd never have to leave, if that's the kind of get-away you're interested in. Hot tub, pool table, charcoal grill, beautiful view from upstairs back porch, wifi, and satellite tv. Our only disappointment was that the NFL ticket was not included as stated on the VRBO site. We highly recommend this cabin and immediately started checking our calendar upon our return home to start planning our next visit to Mountain Mischief.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest(s), We are happy you enjoyed your stay at our cabin and we are glad you found it to be comfortable and everything you needed. We apologize for advertising the NFL channel and not having it. Paul thought he removed this from our advertisement. If there is enough interest in having this channel, we will consider adding it again. We would be happy to have you visit Mountain Mischief on your next trip to the Smoky Mountains. Sincerely, Paul and Cindy
