Plenty of room to get the whole family together

  • 4 of 5

We were a party of 17 extended family members. With 3 floors plus a basement, people could frequent the kitchen, dining room and parlor for meals, conversation, and games. We also were able to retreat to our bedrooms when needing some quiet or alone time. The property is equipped with central heating plus many space heaters so we could customize for our temperature requirements. The kitchen is equipped with plenty of dishes and cookware, plus a good built-in dishwasher. We enjoyed the Victorian character of the house, with all its ornate decor, stairways, closets and passageways. Whenever I contacted the owners about a question or concern, they unfailingly, promptly and good-naturedly responded to me.

Amazing property - amazing owners!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this magnificent home. My 6 PSU friends and I first stayed here in May and loved it so much we decided to invite our husbands . We picked a weekend when Penn State was away and just so happened to pick the PSU -Pitt game. We planned a huge tailgate at the house which has a beautiful backyard. The perfect place for a tailgate! Everything was perfect until we realized Friday night that the owners did not have ESPN - the network showing the game. My friends and I all decided to offer to pay for a year's subscription to ESPN if the owners would just call Comcast and get it all set up. When I called Shannon and her husband with our proposal they absolutely refused - to let us pay!!!!!! They not only called and got it all set up for us - they paid for it as well. Just so we could watch our game!!!! We were so overwhelmed with their kindness. They also apologized after the game because we didn't win -

I can not tell you how much we love this beautiful home - it is so well-appointed with everything you could possibly need.

We plan on many return visits!!!!!

Penn State versus Temple Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 20 stayed for a football weekend. Beech Creek is only a 30 minute ride to Beaver Stadium. The home was spotless when we arrived and far exceeded our expectations. We were all truly fascinated and amazed walking from room to room. The pictures do not do the home justice. We felt like we stepped back in time for a weekend. The towels and linens were provided as well as a very well appointed kitchen. 2 coffee makers came in very handy as did 2 refrigerators. The weather was fantastic so we spent most of our time outside on the patio with the fire pit. Plus the yard was extremely spacious. There was plenty of room for everyone as well as enough hot water for showers and even a bath in the beautiful tub. Shannon was very helpful when I called with questions about the homes accommodations as well as my questions about its history. We will definitely be returning and will be telling our friends about Beech Creek. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Birthday and family get-together

  • 5 of 5

We found this place perfect to hold a birthday with 40 guests. The yard is very spacious for kids to play. The kitchen is equipped with what we needed to cook out for the party. With 7 bedrooms, some invited guests from afar were able to stay overnight. The guests liked the house and expressed how interesting it is. We had a great time and memorable experience bonding with the family and staying at the villa for two nights and three days. Shannon is very accommodating and nice! This villa is highly recommendable! Should we need a place in the future, we will definitely rent this out again...

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 15 spent four delightful days in this home. With the seven bedrooms, there was plenty of space for all of us. I loved the fact that we could expand the dining room table to comfortably seat all of us. The kitchen was very well equipped, allowing us to prepare the meals we had planned with no issues. The grill is a nice size (I was able to fit 24 pieces of chicken on it). We enjoyed the large yard, along with the screened in porch and the outdoor sitting areas. The quiet neighborhood was appreciated.

Shannon was great to work with. She was quick to answer all my questions and very patient with me as I continually bombarded her with those questions.

This house is exactly as advertised. It is a perfect home for a large group.

College friends' reunion

  • 5 of 5

Seven women spent a relaxing weekend in this beautiful old Victorian home not far from Penn State, our alma mater. The close proximity to the university provided us with the opportunity to visit the campus for some picture taking, in spite of the rainy weather. The home is comfortable both inside and out, with lots of room to spread out. On our first evening there we enjoyed using the fire pit and relaxing on the slate patio. The screened-in porch is also a comfortable place on which to enjoy the view of the large back yard. A few of our party did manage to see a few deer one morning! The inside of the home is comfortably furnished and we very much enjoyed the period decorative touches. We are planning a return trip in the fall with our spouses as the home has plenty of space.
