Perfect location, sweet hosts
We had a wonderful stay. We were able to walk everywhere and truly enjoyed getting to know our hosts!
This cottage is in an excellent location and within walking distance to so many cute places, parks and restaurants. Adele was wonderful to work with and always quick to respond and give an answer or suggestion.
The only downfall is the setup. We had little ones with us and you can’t get to the small kitchen without going through a bedroom. Also, there is no couch. There are dining chairs and 2 regular chairs but it would have been nice to have a sofa where more than one person can sit.
There might be some confusion here as there is a couch in the living room that pulls into a sofabed, so not sure what is meant by the non-couch. Glad they had a nice stay though.
Functional Kitchen “tease”
We loved the location and flexibility to do almost everything. However, when we travel, we use the kitchen to cook and save a bit on meal expenses. The facility is stocked with modest amenities, including knives in a block, small stovetop, dishwasher, etc. But no cutting board and only a single skillet...no sauce pans, or other basic kitchen amenities to make it an even better stay.
The beds were comfy and the apartment was clean. The location is great. Everything is in walking distance.
Very Tired Looking
First let me say that the location of this Vrbo is ideal for walking into town and getting to wineries in that area. But the place itself was very disappointing. The carpet is old and stained. The bathroom could use updating and a good cleaning of dust and mold behind the claw foot tub. The king bed sinks down on one side so you feel like your rolling off the bed. The furniture was antique’ish, needs updating and not very comfortable. The kitchenette is adequate.
I would not stay here again and paid top dollar for these accommodations as there wasn’t much available the weekend we were there.
Do not recommend.
Dear Molly: Sorry you didn't like the furniture, as it is very expensive, authetic mid-century and very collectible. It is not Ikea modern. The carpets are commercially cleaned on a regular basis. I personally checked the tub and found no mold or dust under the tub. Our maids are extremely thorough. As to the design of the bathroom, many people like the authenticity and comfort of the claw-foot tub. We are mystified regarding your assertion the king mattress was saggy. It was carefully inspected and found to be firm and supportive, as it is less than a year old. Based on the positive comments of our many repeat guests, I respectfully disagree with your evaluation.
I brought my mom to Calistoga for mother’s day and were not happy with the hotel we booked so we quickly looked for a house and this was IT! It was perfect for us. We loved being able to spread out and enjoy the outside seating in the evenings. The house is in the middle of everything so we were able to walk to coffee, dinners, and ice cream! It was even close to a ton of wineries. Tank is right around the corner:) anyway, would return in a heartbeat!!!
Walkable to town, garden setting
