Wonderful host, all thing quaint!
Loved our little cottage! Perfect for two couples the layout is perfect- the one bathroom is doable as you know ahead of time to schedule its use. Worked for us. Walked to the downtown most of the time. Would recommend this house.
Am delighted they all had a good time in our little town, as these are very sophisticated, well-traveled folks. We're honored to have hosted them.
Quaint little duplex
Great place to stay and visit wineries in Napa!
charming and efficient
Very quaint, decorated very comfortably inside. If you are planning to cook meals, this may not be the place for your vacation. We cooked a few breakfasts in the small, sparsely furnished kitchen, so it is doable. If you are only needing a place for a continental bkft/wine/appetizers, then this is perfect! Not many people want to cook on vacation:) The price is very good for a home that sleeps 5 and is in close proximity to the whole napa/sonoma valley wineries.
Many thanks for your observations. Before guests arrive, I mention the kitchen is not a big family type sit-down kitchen. It has a stove, microwave, dishwasher, pots and pans, and complete dinnerware and silverware for six. If our guests had mentioned they needed a special item, we would certainly have tried to accommodate. At any rate, I hope they had a pleasant time.
Calistoga is charming just like this cottage.
Easy stay for a quick weekend. Beds were comfortable and rooms were large. We had a late arrival and got into the house without any fuss. Thank you!
Nice place. Great location.
Nice place and just a short walk from the Main Street of Calistoga
Great Calistoga Location Yet Needs Some TLC
Visited Napa Valley for first time with my wife and another couple. They love Calistoga and have been to the area six times.
We wanted to share common space instead of having separate lodging and this Calistoga Arbor property seem to fit. Is it a "luxury" spot? I'd have to say no.
First, for two couples, it is an awkward floor plan. As mentioned in a previous review one of the bedrooms shares space with the kitchen. Make sure the couple in that BR are the early risers and know how to make the coffee! Aside from that the space is quaint with a nice front room for lounging and socializing. The kitchen is adequate yet with so many Napa Valley dining options we only used it for light snacks and bacon and eggs. There is a small refrigerator/freezer combo and microwave as well as a two burner electric stovetop.
Beds were very comfortable and closet/dresser options satisfactory.
Where the property lacked the most was in cleanliness and preparation. As mentioned earlier we were two adult couples yet received only one towel set per person for a four night stay. There is no washer/dryer.
The bathroom shower curtain had a section of mold in one area. Wall trim ledges were extremely dusty as well as the vent fan louvers. Lastly, the garbage disposal did not work and caused some back up in the sink when running water or using the dishwasher.
We didn't complain while there as these were issues that shouldn't have been present but weren't worth the hassle of addressing at the time. However, "luxury" it wasn't.
It certainly is in a convenient location to downtown Calistoga. Everything is within walking distance!
Adele was pleasant to work with prior to our stay and very prompt in response. Yet, she did not greet us upon arrival or check in at any time during our stay.
Our friends have stayed in equally valued properties in Calistoga and comparatively recommended those during our next visit.
We put in one set of towels and usually a few extra in the closet. I think this guest didn't check the closet. We looked at the wall trim ledges and they were a bit dusty. Took care of it. Also the shower curtain has been replaced. The garbage disposal does work, as it is brand new. As is often the case, you need to push the reset button once in a while. Our guest says he didn't complain, although I would have preferred he call us -- I gave him all of our cell numbers and we own the house directly behind, so all he had to do was walk back a few steps and ask for anything required. We are always ready to help our guests in any way but it's difficult when they don't mention areas of concern, yet put their concerns on the web. As for not greeting them on arrival, I always call our guests the day before and let them know if we are at the store, there will be an envelope on the front door with complete instructions and all contact numbers. It's odd to say I was pleasant to work with, but they were disappointed I was not there to greet them on arrival, so we must have made contact sometime. No matter. They had a good time, and that's what counts.
