A Beautiful Plantation home with high quality finishes, heated pool, and hot tub

This magnificent home was built in 2004. It has an open floor plan with warm, inviting decor and gorgeous views from the large sunlit great room.

The great room features a vaulted wood beam ceiling and a gas fireplace. Two French patio doors lead to a large new Trex deck with a patio table and chairs where you can enjoy the beautiful view with your morning coffee.

The dining area offers a big table and comfortable chairs. There is an exceptional kitchen with custom-built cabinets. Stainless steel appliances, wine fridge, granite counters, and a wet bar make meal preparation a breeze. It is well stocked for any chef. The upstairs laundry room provides a washer and dryer.

Three master suites (2 king, 1 queen) - each with access to spacious decks have various bathroom amenities such as a jetted tub and a walk-in shower with double shower heads. 4th Bedroom has twin beds and its own bath and deck. A second living area can be used as an office or fifth bedroom with a daybed and trundle.

Indoor entertainment is provided by multiple TVs in every bedroom, a Playstation 3 console, and a computer.

Other amenities include free WIFI, a high chair & port-a-crib for the little ones.

Outside features include a private heated pool ($250/week to heat), a spa with low-powered relaxing jets, a hot/cold outdoor shower, a park style grill, and an outdoor sink with a fish cleaning station.

The pristine beach is a 2-minute walk away on the beach path next to the house, with no streets to cross.

About Owner

We live in Roswell, GA, a suburb of Atlanta. We visit our beach house about 3-4 times a year and regret leaving it each time we have to go back to our busy lives in the big city.

Owner purchased this house in 2013

Why Owner chose Florida

We first discovered the natural beauty and the pristine beaches of St George Island in 2011. We purchased our house in the Spring of 2013 - both of us had immediately agreed that "this one is for us" after only glancing at the pictures.

The Island offers a unique combination of uncrowded beaches, no high rises, great fishing, and an overall Old Florida feel that is becoming harder and harder to find.

We chose the Plantation for the added security of the 24-hour gated access, beautiful native vegetation, and park-like landscape maintenance. The Plantation also has special building restrictions and protective covenants to ensure very low building density. Having underground utility lines is a big plus as well.

Our house is one of the relatively newer ones built in the Plantation (2004), and up to the highest coastal construction standards. It has high grade Andersen windows and doors, a new Trex second level deck, custom kitchen cabinetry, new SS appliances. There is quality trim and finishes throughout.

We love our beach house and try our best to make sure that it is always in an excellent condition.

What makes this house unique

A beautiful, secluded white-sand beach for long walks, shelling, or just playing in the sand. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. An unbelievably clear night sky (when was the last time you saw the Milky Way in the city?). A private, heated pool and a hot tub for relaxing after a day at the beach.

The Plantation has a great new clubhouse with a three quarter Olympic size community swimming pool, shaded picnic area, and fitness room. Amenities also include three tennis courts, a privately owned/public use landing strip, and access to excellent fishing at Bob Sike's Cut. The are plenty of paved paths for bicyclists, jogging and walking enthusiasts.

St. George is close to historic Apalachicola, a quaint old town with art galleries, gift stores, restaurants, and the best oysters in the world.

As Good as it Gets! How True it is! This one is a keeper.

We arrived as planned late evening, on Wednesday, and departed Monday. All of the outside lights were on for us, even the needed ones inside. The house truly is amazing. Fully stocked, spotless, house as described. Spacious Bedrooms, living area, porches off each room. Outside closet stocked with all of the needed beach chairs, towels, inflatables, and even a wagon for transport. Just a short walk down the path to the beach. Wow! This house gets "Uncle Bugs Chili" FIVE STAR REVIEW! We travel in each year from CT, for the annual Chili Cook Off! The homeowner is so accommodating and helpful. Plenty to do both on and off the island. Plantation gate security was efficient, polite, and always there. Would like to do business again.

Beautiful Home!

This home is absolutely beautiful! The kitchen was stocked with absolutely everything we could possibly need. The storage area had all we needed for the beach (chairs, wagon, toys). The short path to the beach was a very easy walk. We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing vacation!!

Definitely want to go back!

We were a total of 9_6 adults, 4 children_ and it was a thoroughly enjoyable time! We were a little apprehensive about the stairs for the kids, but it ended up being just fine. The youngest slept with mom & dad in the upstairs bedroom on the same level as the kitchen & living room so it wasn't a problem. The kitchen/living room area was open & spacious. We loved all the balconies!

We were blessed with beautiful weather the whole week and spent much of our time at the beach relaxing, soaking up the sunshine (and of course making sand castles :) ), and watching the dolphins swim & jump just a short distance from the shore (everyday!_it was amazing!). A room downstairs had beach towels, toys & a wagon (very useful by the way!) so we had all we needed and the walk to the beach was safe & short and the wash up area downstairs was great for getting off the sand before going back inside. What else was great was the flowering plants out back next to the pool that the butterflies loved_so many butterflies!

We had a few questions before our arrival and the owner, Vlad Slavov, was very helpful (and prompt!) about responding. The only small glitch was the coffee pot wasn't brewing properly, but it ended up not being a problem because once we called about it, a new one was delivered the same day! We did eat out a couple of times_the BBQ brisket & the pizza were very good! but mostly we just cooked. We bought our groceries before getting to the island and had no trouble getting the odds & ends we needed during our stay close by.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We were there 9 days and still wanted more_sigh.

As good as it gets

Very nice house, clean & plenty of room. Was very child friendly. Would have been nice ro have more of a view of the ocean. You will need something to keep the mosquitos off on your walk to the beach. All in all was a very good week, would go back, thank you !

Ideal home for our family vacation

This beautiful, clean, well-kept house surrounded by the lush trees of the Plantation was even better than we imagined. Perfect arrangement of bedrooms, baths, and balconies for our needs: two families below, grandparents' room, kitchen and great room above. We fully enjoyed the pool with outside shower and appreciated the short walk through the "woods" to the beach. This house made our second visit to wonderful St. George even nicer than the first. In addition, the owner was responsive and helpful when a relative tried to mail us needed medication. We learned that mail is not delivered to the addresses in this gated community from the post office in East Point---but we were able to pick it up. Our vacation pictures are getting oohs and aahs--and we'll recommend As Good as it Gets to anyone who asks.

Pool heat is an additional $250/week. The pool is not heated when the outside temperature in a 24-hour period averages below 60° or if the average water temperature of the pool is above 82°.

Cancellation Policy: Once the reservation deposit has been received, there will be no refunds given unless:

a. The home can be re-rented for the same dates and rental rate. A 10% cancellation fee of the total rental amount will be deducted from the advance rental payment. If it is not possible to re-rent the home for the same rental rate, the 10% cancellation fee and any difference in the re-booking rate will apply. If the home remains vacant for those dates, the entire deposit will be forfeited or the reservation may be reinstated;

b. The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a “Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area”. In the event such an order is issued, Homeowner will refund:
• Any unused portion of rent from a guest already registered
• Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the “Hurricane Warning” period.

c. Guests are welcome to change their vacation dates if the new dates are for the same calendar year and the rates are of equal or greater value. In these circumstances, Homeowner must be contacted 60 days prior to arrival;

d. After arrival, there should be no expectation of refunds.
