We have been visiting Sanibel Island for 20 years, staying mostly at Villa Sanibel. We love the small complex, where there is always room for you at the pool! The wonderful shelling beach on the Gulf of Mexico is just steps from our door. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful.
Monica Belrose purchased this condo in 2013
We are happy to offer the use of our vacation condo to others. We use the services of a management company to ensure that our condo is maintained to the highest standard and is prepped and ready for our guests.
More than half of Sanibel Island is comprised of nature preserves. There are no traffic lights, street lights or high rise buildings on the island. Just steps from our door is a pristine beach featuring breathtaking sunrises and abundant seashells that attracts visitors from around the world. Across the street is a bike path that stretches for over 25 miles, enabling visitors to bicycle to shopping, parks, restaurants and points of interest. Down the road within walking/biking distance is the famous Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve, where visitors can kayak, canoe, fish or take a guided tour.
We have stayed in this unit 2 years in a row. It works very well for the family configuration (grandma, grandpa, daughter, son-in-law & their children) we bring to Florida. Condo is nicely decorated. We like that condo has a king in master, queen in 2nd br. & trundle twin beds in loft for the kids. Kitchen includes all the cooking pans etc. you need to prepare food for a group.
Condo is just a few steps to beach. This proximity to beach makes frequent returns to condo with children or for food, etc., very convenient. We also like how near the condo is to Bailey's Grocery and St. Isabel Church. Owner & service people are friendly and respond quickly if anything required attention. When the clothes dryer quit, they offered to do our family's laundry until the replacement dryer arrived.
We hope to stay here again next year & would recommend it to our friends as well.
Just returned from our first trip to Sanibel last week and can't wait to go back. Group of 6 (4 adults and 2 seven year olds) and it was the perfect size. The kids loved sleeping up in the loft and the easy access to the pool and the beach were spot on! We had everything we needed and there were plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute drive (Doc Fords Rum Bar was our favorite), along with Jerry's grocery store conveniently located about a mile and a half away in a little shopping area with different shops and an ice cream parlor.
Got to play golf at The Dunes which is a phenomenal championship golf course about 5 minutes away and we also enjoyed our 15 minute drive up to Captiva to the Mucky Duck (BBQ Shrimp was out of this world)...Skip the Bubble Room if you haven't been there before, was very disappointed, and we just went for dessert. If you go to Captiva, make sure you get there before 3pm as most places close down completely or at least close their kitchens from 3pm to 4:30. Our day trip to Captiva ended with the "Family" Crab Races (G rated) at the Crows Nest (the "Adult" Crab Races (R version) were later in the night).
The only negative was that we were not prepared for the No-see-um's (sand flies) that are most active at dawn and dusk. You can hardly see them, they are so small (hence the name I guess), but these things are RUTHLESS. My wife and I are still itching the 50 or so bites we have on our legs and arms, and my son had to have over 100 bites all over. And we were on the beach from 11am to 4pm except for one evening we stayed out to see the beautiful sunset, so they are obviously still active throughout the day.
Being from MN, where our state bird is the Mosquito, I would gladly hop naked in a barrel full of mosquitos for an entire night versus spending 5 seconds in a barrel with just a few No-see-um's. After doing some research on these things trying to find out what help's with the welts and itching, I can guarantee that when we go back next time, we will have plenty of strong DEET based repellent, antihistamine, and Benadryl cream...There is also a special ointment that they sell at the Sanibel Pharmacy for these things too which we didn't find out about until the last night after talking with some of the local's.
All in all, I would give the overall experience of the trip a 4.5 out of 5 and we look forward to making that a perfect 5 out of 5 the next time down (as long as we are prepared for those devil flies).
My family of 7 has been to Sanibel Island now two years in a row. We have stayed at Villa Sanibel both times. We absolutely love it there and can't imagine staying anywhere else. The condo is very clean, well decorated, comfortable with ALL necessary amenities. Our location is literally steps from the beach. Property is well maintained, quaint and not crowded like many of the larger accommodations. We found ourselves often the only ones in the pool. The owner of this condo is a delight to work with and very responsive. The agency she deals with, Sanibel Holiday is very professional, responsive and friendly. We love it so much we have already booked the same condo for next April. Can't say enough good things. Highly recommend staying here.
We were staying at villa sanibel with 3 young children in a 2 bedroom with loft. I loved the layout. we overlooked the pool, so the baby monitor worked at the pool. Loved the screened in lanai for the kids- they could play out there and I did not have worry. The beach is steps away and lovely- quite and fun for the kids. The appliances area ll high quality and the high efficiency front loading washer and dryer were a must have for a beach vacation with kids. Bath tub in the full bath and shower in the master- everything you need for all ages. we rented a crib from "Island Rental" and they delivered and set upper before we got there, so we were good to go. The condo does have a high chair, booster seat and pack-N-play. My older kids loved all the board games provided. TVs in every room- which was nice for quite time. Loved the unit, loved the complex. this is our second time staying at Villa Sanibel and we were happy to be back. Sanibel Holiday was easy to work with and I would use them again.
We made a trip to Sanibel to celebrate my youngest daughter's 30th birthday. My three daughters, their husbands and I so totally enjoyed this beautiful condo. We're from Minnesota so even 68 degree temperatures didn't keep us off the beach. We had an awesome dolphin experience on the beach right in front of the condo. The condo itself was spacious, clean, well equipped. Lots of glasses, dinnerware, silverware, pots and pans...everything we needed to enjoy cooking in. The bathrooms were beautiful..never ran out of hot water. We would definitely stay here again. Only one drawback, but this has nothing to do with the condo...the no see-ums were plentiful..some people were bothered, others never got a bite...that's just the beach....but it sure won't keep me from returning. A couple of things about Sanibel-the restaurants are awesome..the traffic is awful...there are ways to get around the Periwinkle tie-up..find those and be patient. Enjoy!!!
We had an awesome time at 2h! Very clean and well-maintained, updated decor a plus. Couches & beds in the rooms were very comfortable. Conveniently near the grocery store and centrally located to most of Sanibel shopping and dining. The beach sunsets were phenomenal, just yards away from the condo. Pool area very nice, we utilized the grill a few times. Staff very friendly and helpful upon check-in.

Rates are subject to change until confirmed. I use a Sanibel Island Rental Agency who will take over paperwork and payment once you book the property with me. They are located on the island and can help with any questions you might have once you are at the condo.
