About Emily Locke

Hi :-) I grew up in Southern California, then lived in NYC for a few years (where I met my husband) before settling in Anthem, AZ and starting our family! My husband and I have lived in Anthem for 12 years and have four young children. The Flagstaff/Williams area is a perfect escape from the heat of the Valley during the summer, a gorgeous place to see the leaves changing in the Fall, and a wonderful place to experience a 'real winter' and give our kids a chance to sled and build snowmen!! :-)

Emily Locke purchased this house in 2013

Why Emily Locke chose Arizona

This place is amazing! We fell in love the first time we saw it. The Parks area is the perfect location, halfway between Flagstaff and Williams. We love the feel of being in the forest rather than in a neighborhood. It really makes us feel like we are "getting away" :-)

What makes this house unique

One of my favorite things about the cottage is the 'Loft', which is a kid-sized play area above one of the upstairs bedrooms. It is such a unique and fun place!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Everything was great! I really can't think of anything about the house that we didn't like. We loved the wood burning stove, and that there were toys to keep our kids busy. The location was perfect, we loved how secluded it was.

Family fun at Elk Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Elk Cottage! Emily was helpful in suggesting things for us to do in Northern AZ. Our kids enjoyed the zip line and outdoor activities that were provided outside of the cabin. We also enjoyed the trip thru Sedona, Bearizona and the Grand Canyon. The cottage is a ways so if you plan on getting groceries I would advise to get them in Flagstaff or Williams before going to the cabin. Thank you Emily the excellent communication!! We hope to come back in the near future!!

A great getaway in the cool pines.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin sits in a very quiet neighborhood and backs up to national forest land. Our family of five had a wonderful vacation in this cabin. Plenty of hiking and views of wildlife from the back porch. The cabin had all of the comforts of home and we had plenty of extra room. The cabin was very clean and also had many of the little extras. The location is close to Williams, flagstaff and the grand canyon, and we even enjoyed the nearby lava tubes.I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation. We hope to vacation here again. Thanks for helping us to have a great stay! Chrystal

Elk Meadow Cottage is awesome

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the best place we've ever stayed on vacation. Emily was super nice and responded very quickly to any questions or concerns I had leading up to the trip. The cottage had every little thing you could think of from several DVD's which was perfect entertainment for my daughter, to binoculars for bird watching. Thank you for your hospitality. I'd love to stay again one day.

A great place for a family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay at the beautiful Elk Meadow cabin. The kitchen is well stocked with nice utensils and appliances. It was an easy drive to the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams. We also took a little trip to Slide Rock in Sedona. There are toys, movies and outdoor activities for our grandkids. Some of our family mountain biked and all of us hiked the nearby trails. The trail immediately behind the cabin is very easy which was perfect for our small grandchildren. The adults enjoyed watching movies from the DVD collection in the evenings We were very comfortable and relaxed during our entire week stay. We hope to take our family there again!

This was a great house for 8 of us to stay in while visiting the Grand Canyon. Beautiful location, clean, well kept up and wonderful stocked. Full kitchen stocked, games, washing machine and dryer, everything we needed. Nice cool sleeping in August.

Peaceful retreat with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 truly enjoyed our stay. The setting was very private. We didn't see a single person any of the four nights we stayed. We would visit the Grand Canyon during the day, stop in Williams for groceries on the way back, then cook or grill our supper. The kitchen is fully stocked with enough pots, pans, dishes or utensils to comfortably serve a large family. After supper we would play one of the games from the shelves, or watch one of the many DVDs. Our adult kids enjoyed watching some of the wonderful movies from their youth (even though there were plenty of current adult titles, as well). Then we would retire, each to our own corner of the cabin. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
