Our Cottage is nicely furnished, has new, top quality linens, and is kept in immaculate condition. We recently added a relaxing hammock and a super fun zipline for our younger guests!

Cool, fresh, pine scented mountain air in this wooded setting in the Kaibab Nat'l Forest at 7500 ft. About Emily Locke

Hi :-) I grew up in Southern California, then lived in NYC for a few years (where I met my husband) before settling in Anthem, AZ and starting our family! My husband and I have lived in Anthem for 8 years and have three small children, with one more on the way. The Flagstaff/Williams area is a perfect escape from the heat of the Valley during the summer, a gorgeous place to see the leaves changing in the Fall, and a wonderful place to experience a 'real winter' and give our kids a chance to sled and build snowmen!! :-)

Why Emily Locke chose Arizona

This place is amazing! We fell in love the first time we saw it. The Parks area is the perfect location, halfway between Flagstaff and Williams. Our cottage is about 5 miles off of I-40 and is bordered on 3 sides by the beautiful, Kaibab National Forest. The cottage itself is immaculate, well furnished, and a perfect place for a getaway!

What makes this house unique

One of my favorite things about the cottage is the 'Loft', which is a kid-sized play area above one of the upstairs bedrooms. It is such a unique and fun place!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Everything was great! I really can't think of anything about the house that we didn't like. We loved the wood burning stove, and that there were toys to keep our kids busy. The location was perfect, we loved how secluded it was.

Fun and relaxing family time

  • 5 of 5

Awesome time at Elk Meadow Cottage! The whole family enjoyed our stay in the lovely well kept house. It was great to see that the house is so child friendly. Our children loved the board games, the yard was pleasant, the hamock was relaxing, the loft was fun, our little ones loved the game room and the zip line was a blast! Movie nights with the fire going were warm and cozy. The kitchen was spacious enough for our cooking and baking needs and the whole house was very inviting and well taken care of. We enjoyed the hiking trail that starts just outside the house.

Elk Meadow Cottage is close to The Grand Canyon, Sedona and Meteor Crater making it a pleasant drive.

The owners gave exceptional customer service. Owner went above and beyond on our arrival day when we checked in!

Throughout our stay communication was always quick and easy with the owners. Always asking how they could make our stay more pleasant or if there was any additional thing that they could offer or do for us.

We did not want to leave, we felt right at home at Elk Meadow Cottage.

We definitely recommend Elk Meadow to anyone traveling with small children or anyone who wants to get away from it all.

We would definitely come back to Elk Meadow Cottage.

Thank you!

Peaceful, well appointed retreat

  • 5 of 5

Spent the last week at Elk Meadow and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hiked in the mornings and from it's central location, we went to Bearizona and the Grand Canyon. Sedona isn't far either...maybe next time. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals, the house itself is well maintained and has a very cozy wood burning stove in the great room. We saw a herd of elk and because we filled the bird feeder, had a lot of the local wildlife to view from the patio and dining room. Looking forward to coming back and unplugging again. Thanks!

Family Bucket List Trip

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at Elk Meadow Cottage. We were a party of 6 adults and there was plenty of room for all of us. We appreciated the lovely bedrooms and the cozy linens along with the relaxing feel of the home. We visited the Grand Canyon and Sedona while staying at Elk Meadow. Each was an easy day trip from the house. We had plenty to keep us busy with the games and movies and outdoor activities provided. We enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen and also on the outdoor grill. Everything was easy to locate and use thanks to all the helpful labels and instructions. The owners certainly made us feel welcome and communication with them was easy. We had a wonderful stay at Elk Meadow Cottage and would certainly stay here again. We recommend this to anyone looking to have a relaxing, peaceful time away.

Nice surprise

  • 4 of 5

Well appointed kitchen with everything we could possibly need & plenty of it. There were beds for all in the eclectic mix of ages & attachments. The girls enjoyed the bunk beds and I thoroughly rested in the master bedroom bed.

Girls were very disappointed the tradition of making s'mores was not to be we still

enjoyed our brief stay and even managed 2 make a thrill out of killing the recluse spiders in our showers. Boys

Owner's Response: We're so sorry to hear that your girls were unhappy to not be able to make s'mores during their visit. We LOVE s'mores too, but err on the side of safety and don't allow open fires on our property. And about the spiders...when you have the luxury of a home in the forest, we know that creepy crawlies sometimes make their way inside; however, recluse spiders aren't in Arizona. Most likely it was a harmless wolf spider, which may look scary, but is actually harmless.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place as Emily does a fantastic job of ensuring the little things are taken care of. Kitchen well stocked with eating and cooking supplies, able to use the wood stove, plenty of family focused movies/games/outside activities. Much care and thought has been given to ensure others will have a wonderful stay. Wonderful location in the national forest and next to a trailhead which we used with my kids.

Great location for a fun, relaxing time!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Elk Meadow Cottage with our 3 children. It was a perfect spot for travel to visit the Grand Canyon and surrounding area as well as some great relaxing time at the home and outdoors. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch, grilling outdoors, and hiking on the cross country ski trails. The kids especially enjoyed the zip-line, playing a few games of horseshoes, and enjoying a few movies in the TV/game room.

I will recommend this as a great place to stay for anyone visiting this area, and Emily was very prompt and helpful to make sure everything was in order for our stay.
