FROM PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE:

Two cultural VIPs (from the Curtis Institute and Kimmel Center) bought this roomy log cabin in 2012 as an escape from city life. Then they gave it an overhaul, adding the perfect mix of vintage elements (an enameled wood stove from Norway) and new stuff (spa-like bathrooms, a private suite) for a gorgeous upscale-yet-cozy look. Lucky for you they're willing to share. Drive 20 minutes and you'll find Lake Nockamixon, antiques shops, and quaint enclaves like Frenchtown.'

***JUST ADDED! The north deck was just outfitted with a teak dining table and chairs for 10, as well as a lounging area with a love-seat, two arm chairs and a coffee table***

Wonderful dense and soft carpeting in the main house bedrooms - 20 foot deck off the private suite apartment - Enameled Norwegian wood stove with masonry wall in the dining room - Two sink vanity with granite counter and under-mount sinks in the main house bathroom - Great new games in the living room!

Just furnished and completely refreshed in 2013, this log home has a chef's kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and granite counters. The original handmade cabinets and built-ins have been retained.

The main bathroom is very large, with a claw foot tub and shower. There is a complete collection of bath salts and other skin products providing a spa experience.

While the whole home is newly furnished, unique antique pieces fill the property with character. The huge dining room seats 12, and adjoins the living room for perfect entertaining.

There are two bedrooms and a bath on the 2nd floor, a powder room in the kitchen and a private apartment accessed from back of the house.

The apartment has a large living room, bedroom and bath. There are queen size sofa beds in the living rooms of both the main house and the apartment.

Large flat screens are in the living room, two bedrooms and the living of the private suite. There is Wi-Fi service. A complete package of premium channels, sports and children's programming provides all guests with multiple choices for TV viewing. A Blu-ray player and a wireless printer for convenient printing of local destinations and directions caps off a most technologically sophisticated package tucked in a country log home environment.

Outdoors is landscaped and beautiful from all four sides of the house. The front yard is long, wide and rolling, with a park-like atmosphere. One side of the house has a raised garden, and the other a large deck with two tables and 8 chairs. There is a 5 burner gas grill on the deck. The back yard is wide and flat, with many visits by deer and a large variety of birds.

Extra features include a full size second refrigerator, and two pop-up picnic tables with built-in seating that each seat 4.

About Chuck Finch

I live in downtown Philadelphia in a 4 story townhouse built in 1803. I grew up in a family that developed property for over 100 years, so my love of interesting architecture and restoring houses is in my blood.

Chuck Finch purchased this house in 2012

Why Chuck Finch chose Bucks County

There is no type of property that offers such a distinctly warm and welcoming appeal as a log home. By updating the house without making it too contemporary, I think that Raspberry Hill has a unique combination of sophistication and rustic charm.

What makes this house unique

The outdoor property is very private and quite beautiful. Although a cozy log house, all of the technology and luxury you could ever want is available.

The BEST Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This house could not have been more perfect for our quick weekend getaway. My youngest sister graduated with a double major from Cedar Crest College in Allentown this past weekend. I, my husband, mother, father, brother, brother's girlfriend, her daughter, youngest sister and 4 dogs all stayed at the house. My grandparents, aunt and uncle stayed in town but visited. We were blown away! The decor, space and inclusions of this cozy home were much, much more than expected. We enjoyed grilling out, had room for the dogs to run, hung around the fireplace in the evenings and still had a quiet enough space to put my niece down for her afternoon nap. The rooms were big and comfy. The spa bathroom was amazing! The kitchen was easy to work in and locate what we needed. The dining room accommodated us comfortably even with my grandparents, aunt and uncle visiting. We weren't able to use the fire pit unfortunately but we like the set up. The only complaint was from my father who was disappointed there wasn't any Captain Morgan. :)

Town was a little bit of a drive (about 20 minutes) but the drive is beautiful. It did rain a bit more than we thought it would on Saturday. I think an intercom system would be a good investment between the main house and the private suite. Full length mirrors would have been a plus in the bedrooms for getting ready. I would definitely recommend ready the welcome check in instructions that is emailed before arriving. Turning on and off the lights in the house were a little confusing as was the heating/cooling unit. Even though smoking is not allowed in the house, it was evident there have been smokers outside. There were cigarette butts in the driveway. I would suggest some sort of ashtrays outside so they don't litter the beautiful, kept yard.

Chuck was quick to respond to any questions and knowledgeable about the area. We are super excited to come back in a few years to celebrate my sister graduating with her Masters Degree. This was one family trip we will not forget. Thank you so much Chuck!

A perfect getaway location celebrating our Bride!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the day traveling to various wineries throughout Bucks County celebrating my cousin's bachelorette party. We ended our day at this beautiful log cabin home in Upper Black Eddy. The interior was so quaint and decorated with fun antiques. The spaces in the house are very cozy with a lot of space for friends and family. We had just under 10 people stay there and there was plenty of room for all of us. The outdoor areas surrounding the house were picture perfect - I only wish we had warmer weather to sit outside and enjoy the side deck. The kitchen was perfect for cooking a brunch the next morning. Chuck was extremely accommodating and helpful in setting up the Bluetooth speakers - which was an AWESOME addition to our evening! Many of the girls (who came from Arizona, NY, DE, NJ, and CT!) said they would love to come back for an anniversary trip or rent this for their parents.

Perfect stay in a gorgeous home.

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a wonderful stay; 5 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. The beautifully set and appointed house accommodated us perfectly. The house was spotless and Chuck was extremely responsive and attentive. The kids played in the yard for hours and every convenience imaginable was available in the house. We hope to return and experience the house in the other seasons!

Wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter and myself along with our good friends and their kids spent the weekend here at the end of February. We could not have asked for a better home to share together! There was not a speck of dust anywhere to be seen, everything was impeccably clean and the beds were very comfortable! We had four children between the ages of six and eight between us all Who really enjoyed running around outside on the private property. We had such a great time just talking, sharing meals around the big dining room table and even playing charades fireside. It was the perfect home to relax and unwind and have good quality family time! We plan to be back!

We Loved Everything!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Raspberry Hill! The cabin was beautiful! The kitchen well stocked! We celebrated a birthday weekend with family and everyone loved it! To top it off, we had 70 degree weather in the middle of February so we got to enjoy sitting outside! Would definitely return!
