Overview

About the property

8 Bedrooms, 7 Bathrooms, Sleeps 40+

The River's Edge Lodge becomes home the moment you step inside. Welcoming and warm, your first words will be, 'WOW! This is awesome!' Then you will need to restrain the kids (and some adults), as they want to take off exploring this four level, rustic and elegant home. Once you get past the breathtaking open kitchen, dining and living area, it is an adventure to check out the many rooms. Every room has it's own thermostat, new TV (several smart TV's), wifi and ethernet port for your laptop or desktop internet access.

Bedrooms each have their own personality. Lower level is the Grand Slam room (guys love it) featuring stories and photos of the local trout fishing. Look out the window to see the Blue River, which is home to all five types of trout. A king bed and a twin bed allows sleeping for three people.

A few steps up is the next level with the kitchen that boasts, two Subzero side-by-side refrigerators, one beverage frig, a refrigerated drawer and a freezer drawer. Two massive islands with three large sinks, three full sized dishwashers, a beverage center, commercial coffee brewer, espresso machine and gourmet cooking equipment. The beautiful bar area between the kitchen and dining area seats at least seven (great place to watch the chefs in action and keep them company). Two dining tables seat 14, and additional tables and chairs can be added. Plenty of room for everyone to mingle together in this huge open space with a fireplace, spectacular river views out the many large windows (where it is not unusual to see wildlife grazing close enough to the house for great pics!) Two double French doors open to a large patio overlooking the river. Front and back patios feature original antique lampposts from old downtown Breckenridge. Large propane grill, new patio dining sets (seats 24) and jacuzzi make the back patio perfect for outdoor parties. All areas are furnished with unique antiques, local craftsmanship, mining relics, comfy leather couches, and delightfully comfortable beds. Decorated in black and white photos depicting the early days of Breck, along with the stories behind the photos, this lodge has a bit of a museum feel.

Up to the next level you will find the 'Gold Rush' room with a river view, king sized bed, twin bed, and a huge bathroom.

Next door is my favorite room, the 'Vista Del Rio' room, with the best views in the house. You do not have to leave your room often, as this room features a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, microwave, and a full set of dishes. Also has a king and a twin bed, private bath with large tub and shower, and lots of space to live in. A drop leaf table conceals folding chairs inside, if you choose to have your own dining table in your room.

Across the hallway on this level is the Tatonka room, decorated with my favorite, buffaloes and old native American photographs. A king bed, a twin bed and private bath make this a comfy room for at least three people.

This level also has a large laundry room with two full-size washers and dryers.

Moving up to the highest level, the'Big Red Room' is perfect for singles or a family of seven. It is furnished with a king bed, two extra long twins, a twin/twin bunk and a twin sleeper sofa. As with all other rooms, it is furnished with a large HD television, Wi-Fi and ethernet Internet access, and its own bath with tub and shower. Plenty of space in this area for people to hang out together and have room for all their stuff. A love seat and recliner, a large work table, plenty of nightstands and lamps for everyone make it easy for you to feel right at home. Suitable for an entire family to share.

Moving on down the hallway leads to the magnificent master suite with another fantastic view over the river from its private balcony. A king bed, twin trundle beds, and a queen sleeper sofa, also make this room perfect for a family to enjoy together. The master bath is very large with a beautiful walk in shower with multiple showerheads, a huge bathtub, a bidet, and two vanities. Totally secluded from the rest of the house, this is definitely the first choice when staying at the River's Edge Lodge and Retreat Center. An optional room within the master sleeps two in twin beds (must request in advance).

Finally, a kids (and parents!) Paradise is found in the three room basement. The 'Man Cave' is furnished with two oversized, comfy sectionals, a ping-pong table, a foosball table, puzzles, games and cards. Of course, two 60' smart TV's make it perfect for the big game or family movie night. Tile flooring transforms this room into a perfect dance floor.

The 'Bunker Room' sleeps five people on a twin/twin and a twin/full log bunk beds.

The Family Bunker finishes the basement playground. This room is where you will find your kids most of the time. Very spacious for playing, yet still has plenty so room for 4 twin/twin bunks, and a King size bed. Sleeps 11 people.

About Nancy Cordoba

Eddie and Nancy Cordoba have worked diligently for several years to build this fantastic home to share their love for the mountains and all Breckenridge and the beautiful Rockies have to offer. We finished building early 2013 and are excited to share our Lodge with our guests. We have chosen to devote our lives to this endeavor and do everything possible to make your event everything you dreamed of and more. Our motto - 'We are at your Breck and call'.

Nancy Cordoba purchased this lodge in 1988

Why Nancy Cordoba chose Breckenridge Area

This property is a one-of-a-kind treasure. It is very difficult to locate a place where multiple families can stay together comfortably. The location on the river, close to town, yet away from the hustle and bustle is very rare. The amenities far exceed most properties in the area. Shuttle pick up and drop off.

What makes this lodge unique

The Lodge is rare find where large groups can vacation in the same house for family reunions, parties, and other special occasions for large numbers of guests. This property has one of the biggest and best kitchens you will find in the area.

Great house for business retreat

  • 4 of 5

Great house with plenty of room. Worked well for our business retreat! Everyone enjoyed having their own space along with casual communal areas for meetings. The fire pit was great for evening s'mores too!

We had just a few things that kept us from rating it a 5: 1) A few things were broken in the house, i.e. oven broiler, some thermostats in the rooms, and recliner chair in the living room. 2) WIFI was difficult to connect to with several people in the house. With this being a business retreat, we needed quick internet access. 3) It was never mentioned that the caretaker/family live in the garage wing of the house previous to booking. The doors unlock on their side and the hot tub is right outside their living area which made some of our female guests a bit uneasy. Please note: We had no issues and barely heard them. However, disclosure would be appreciated is all.

Overall a great stay and we would come back!

TERRIFIC SPRING BREAK

  • 4 of 5

This home in Breckenridge is awesome. It's beautifully decorated, spacious and very accommodating for a large crowd. The kitchen is huge and equipped with every cooking item that might be needed. The laundry room was very handy! We loved the location to Breckenridge - close yet slightly away from all the hustle & bustle. Due to the heated flooring the home can become a little warm. We needed to open the windows a time or two. Also - the two huge sleeping rooms in the basement only have one very small bathroom. I wish that had been explained a little clearer. We had 10 people sharing one bathroom. Yikes! We were not able to get the wifi to work properly. (Maybe too many people trying to use it at one time) The televisions in the basement were not working either. Overall - this property met all expectations and we would readily book it again.

Wonderful property for a large business gathering wonderful property for a large business gatherin

  • 5 of 5

Great kitchen with plenty of supplies and room to hang out. Basement / game room was really a bonus. My one complain, there was no kindling or fire starter so we went 3 days without a fire.

I would easily rent this place again

Owner's Response: Thank you, Scott, for choosing River's Edge for your gathering. We appreciate your kind review and your business. So sorry about the firestarter. We do have fire starting kits for guests, but somehow it must have been overlooked. We will be sure to pay more attention to that in the future. Looking forward to serving your lodging needs in the future. Eddie and Nancy Córdoba

Stunning property set in the mountains...perfect for a large corporate or family retreat

  • 5 of 5

We booked this property for a corporate ski retreat and it was a perfect location for our group of ~40. The property is in a beautiful setting and was exactly what you think of for a luxury house in the mountains. The property manager was kind enough to shuttle our group to the ski slopes and to town, as well. Would definitely recommend to any group looking for an ideal retreat!
