There is no end to the splendor you’ll discover!
Initially, when we purchased this property, it was a small cottage that we used on weekends and holidays. Eventually, we replaced that cottage with a custom-built home that we spent 2 years designing and building. From selecting the bronze stair rails to the peaked atrium ceiling to the massive hand-carved custom wooden door, we scrutinized every design detail. When it was complete, it became our primary residence -- a retreat we relished daily.
Now, as we transition to our next phase of life, we hope to share this Coastside home's architectural details, unique panoramic views and luxurious comforts with you, our guests.
So please consider Splendor in the Glass for your next occasion -- be it a vacation, wedding, girls' getaway, business retreat or off-site event!
Dell Williams purchased this villa in 1989
When we designed this home, we envisioned an architectural work of art that would offer magnificent and ever-changing views of the Pacific. Through the years, we have found it offers all that and more.
In fact, it's such a rare and splendid property, that we married here on its bluffs more than 25 years ago. As a vacation rental it offers a blend of privacy, seclusion and comfort, with unmatched views of the Pacific. No other vacation rental property on the Coastside can match it! But it also offers convenience and access to one of the world's most vibrant, cultural cities.
Splendor in the Glass offers: an unmatched oceanfront property with 180 degree views of the Pacific. It also offers upscale architectural design and an element of luxury not often found in vacation properties. Best of all, it's less than 30 minutes to all of the area's top attractions!
We have stayed in this amazing home on the cliff several times, and did get out and enjoy this unique setting. A short walk to the old WWll military area, then down to the Montero lighthouse, then down to the beach in a lovely small cove were very enjoyable. Plus the Fitzgerald tidal pool area is a must see. We took the easy walk from the house which brought us to this unusual and unique place. And, we could see from the house which way the tide was running so it was easy for us to time our excursion. When we didn’t feel like going out, just watching the constantly changing interaction with the waves and the rocks, the cloud formations reacting with the wind, and the graceful sea birds made for a view that was never tiring. I like photography and had many chances for some great shots walking along the bluff with the ocean and rocks making for great subjects. And was fortunate enough on one visit to have the wildflowers at their height, and what a foreground that was!
My newly married wife and I stayed here over the weekend and actually hosted and performed our wedding onsite. Dell and Annette couldn't have been more kind, generous, and giving for our special day. They went above and beyond what 99% of other owners would do in order to ensure our event was a success. Annette actually designed and provided most all of our floral arrangement after consultation. Each arrangement was beautiful. We made the event work for ourselves utilizing their gorgeous Bay Window overlooking the Pacific and extremely unique design of the house. There would be possible ways to include outside portions for a wedding, but the best use of the house is a small private gathering, quaint wedding, reunion or "get out of town" weekend. We plan to return for our first anniversary. It's great when you have a good experience, but we would go so far to say we now welcome them into our lives as friends. Salt of the Earth. All our love and gratitude. Our friends and family can't stop complimenting us for the location and event. You won't regret your time here.
the home and location are both stunning-we had a wonderfully relaxing visit and highly recommend it.
We were blown away by the stunning experience of staying in this space. It's definitely an unparalleled experience. I would describe it as living within a moving painting. There are sweeping views of the Pacific from every angle and the pictures here really don't do it justice. It is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We were so inspired by this space that we asked Dell if we could have our wedding reception here and he kindly obliged after a few conversations. Annette, the concierge, helped us throughout the process, giving us ideas and offering help and guidance during the actual day of our wedding.
This really is a perfect space for someone wanting to get away and have a wonderful retreat in a space that celebrates the beauty of the ocean.
Thanks so much Dell and Annette. We loved staying in your wonderful house!
We held a small team-building weekend at Dell's. The owners were very responsive, and offered to help set up any services we might need. The views from the main room were even more amazing than the pictures suggest - we could see whales were breaching and swimming past.
Everything was clean, all facilities worked, it was a memorable spot.
I would recommend this home for anything ranging from a couples retreat to a small team/company retreat.
We really enjoyed our stay. The property is very nice and well decorated. The views are beautiful. Dell, the owner, is very nice and helpful. There is not a single negative aspect to this property. We would highly recommend this property. We will likely return with the family.
Beautiful views, super roomy accommodation with plenty of privacy for everyone! Our family and mother in law stayed for three days and loved the location and proximity to San Francisco, Santa Cruz and being right off but no road noise from RT 1.
Dell was a fabulous host and greatly accommodated our 2 am arrival from Hawaii making our first night a very restful one! He even provided us grocery items for breakfast which my family super appreciated.
Overall great stay and awesome memories!
