I go by Shelby and I am a sagittarius:) Which makes me a lover of travel and adventure . I like to write, read, eat really good food in really nice or really unusual restaurants, and listen to all kinds of music (country, jazz, blues, classical, old rock) I appreciate a finely crafted cocktail and prefer 'top shelf'. My husband and I have 10 horses (mostly quarter horses) and we like to trail ride at the beach and numerous state parks. I am a fan of camping. I would like to work on the 'glamping' thing. I work full time as a realtor in NE Florida. I specialize in St. Augustine which is the oldest city in the US! My work keeps me really busy but I like it as I get to work with buyers and sellers from all different walks of life and I get to see a lot of nice homes. I like renovation projects best as I love to see an old home with good bones get new life. In early life I grew up on 40 acres in Pennsylvania. I moved to S. Florida in the 80's and now live near St. Augustine, FL.

From the moment I first walked in this home I was enchanted. I loved the huge stone fireplaces, the sprawling outdoor spaces, the amazing lake views, and the icing on the cake was when i first heard and saw the babbling brook running under the deck. I found this place to be so peaceful and I had to make it mine and I also wanted to share it with others.
Super close to NOC, Lake Fontana, Smokey Mountain Railroad. Super easy access on a paved road with plenty of room to park vehicles and or a boat. Really quiet and peaceful setting but so close to so many wonderful things to do!
Home is twenty minutes from Bryson City which is where most restaurants and grocery stores are. Nice area if you are looking for a quiet place just know it is far from stores.
Shelby and John were very friendly to us and were attentive to any inconvenience we had, the house is spacious and clean. The lake in front of the house is very cute.
We spent a wonderful few days in the middle of the mountains.
This location is well located; Has near roads to travel by motorcycle.
Thank you again Shelby and John
This was our 3rd year in a row at the Chalet. We never want to leave. It is a beautiful quiet place with all the comforts of home. Shelby is always great to us! The home is always very clean and supplied with everything we need. If I could I would stay for a couple weeks or a month!! Our dogs are welcome as well and that is a major plus. The lake is beautiful to look at and to fish out of. We have never been anywhere else that we have went back to year after year until we found the Chalet. I could go on and on but you just have to see it for yourself, it is great! Thank you again Shelby!!
We had a great time in lovely fall mountain weather. Access to the house is very easy, as it is on a paved road with little elevation.
This place I was really impressed with very quite and close to things love it
The property was nice and located in a quiet and very relaxing area. There is a small private lake directly across from the chalet and is a nice evening or early morning walk. The chalet is spacious especially if you have a large group. It was only 2 of us and our dog but we enjoyed it very much. The property is set back from main attractions yet very accessible to everything from Nantahala forest to the Smokey mountains and other local sights. The internet services and TV are limited yet we weren't there for that so it didn't bother us at all. We didn't have a strong signal for our mobile devices yet there is home phone. It was lovely and well-worth the week we spent.
I didn't have to contact the owner at all but have rented from the owner at another location two years ago. She is wonderful and responsive to your needs should something come up. She is reliable and goes out of her way to make sure everything works out well.
Nantahala River for white water rafting & fly fishing.
Fontana Lake close to Almond Boat ramp for renting boats & fishing. Bryson City- The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, groceries-waterfalls-deep creek for tubing tail of the dragon- motorcyclist Tsali mountain biking and horseback riding. Cherokee Indian Reservation & casino.
