We have vacationed in Murphy since I was a child and my family has vacationed here for 20 years. After the last 10 years of renting we bought this cabin this year. We have rented the best and some not the best and know what is important to the renting vacationer.
After many upgrades and improvements we are now ready to share our home with you. We hope you will fall in love with Murphy as we have and continue to enjoy it as we do.
Most of our time is spent white water rafting, hiking, tubing at Deep Creek, and many other activities. Horseback is very close, and we are known to rent a boat and tube on lake Hiawassee.

The view was exactly as pictured! We had a wonderful time exploring nearby trails and relaxing on the deck. The view from the hot tub provided some of the best suggests sunsets we've ever seen. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable. What a wonderful getaway!
Out standing mountain views!!! Owner responds quickly to all calls and concerns.
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cabin. This cabin has everything you need for a relaxing getaway in the mountains: a gorgeous view from the porch, a cute firepit for roasting marshmallows, a great hot tub, gas grill on the porch, and even a pool table downstairs. The owner was fantastic, answering any questions I had about the cabin and the surrounding areas. Everything in the cabin worked properly and it was very clean. The gas fireplace inside had detailed instructions on how to operate, and it worked just as described. Even the bed super comfortable! There is literally not a single negative thing to say about this cabin.
I would definitely return. We spent an entire week here and never got bored. Highly recommend this cabin for your next mountain vacation!
I have never before entered a negative review; however, in this case, I consider it necessary for future renters. During our stay, we arrived to a cabin with no toilet paper, other than a few strands left in each bathroom, no paper towels, 3 dryer sheets, rot under the tub in the master, an oven that didn't work, 2 pieces of firewood for the fire pit, and a fireplace indoors that kept going on and off. We contacted the owner via text, as we had no signal for calls and had to find places where texts would go through, and we bought our own toiletries. We had packed food to make in the oven and couldn't prepare the food due to the oven not working. The owner did not offer to send an appliance agent until the last day of our stay, at 8:00 am, while we were still sleeping, such that we missed the opportunity for the appliance person to present during the stay. Most importantly, we were sitting in the living room and found a spider as big as my palm on the couch; I have never seen anything like it, and it was fast. After we killed that, we then found a scorpion in the master bedroom where we were sleeping. Due to my fear and horror, we had to leave early. When we advised the owner, he advised us that insects live in the woods. He then accused us of not "calling" him, per contract, to notify him of the issues. We texted all of our concerns at the time of the issues due to low signal/intermittent connectivity. After we left, the owner did not respond to us until we asked for a reply given the fact that he had texted back and forth easily previously but seemed unavailable when we had grave concerns. I felt penalized for not having a signal to make a call, and text or call, the owner was aware of the concerns. After I explained how this was my birthday weekend and the first vacation I had taken in 3 years since I am a single mom, the owner told me all he could do was offer a discount on my next stay. No offense, but there will be no next stay. I then got scolded for not knowing that the oven and fireplace weren't working due to low gas in the tank. I apologize, but I did not know this, and I certainly didn't appreciate being insulted for not knowing. My gravest concern is that the situation could have been resolved appropriately, but the owner simply accused us of not knowing this and that and not following a contract explicitly. I found the customer service lackluster, amongst the giant insects.
this seemed to be a wonderful property, but we only ended up staying 2 nights due to a family emergency. The local residents were so friendly and we are looking forward to returning at some point. It would be helpful if the light switches were labeled, but that was a minor issue.
We enjoyed the cabin so much and the view was amazing! It was very relaxing being there and getting away from town. The cabin is just like it was described and we even saw two deer in the back by the fire pit one day!
