Lovely stay in Argelato
A lovely, quiet and roomy stay. Marco, the owner was very responsive and helpful.
As we like to cook we appreciated that it was well equipped and Marco even rustled up a bbq for us to use. The only (and minor) issue we found was that the kitchen lighting could be better.
We'd highly recommend staying.
Clean and spacious. Well located for visiting ferrara, mantua, Modena and Bologna
Pleasant private apartment. Well equipped. Quiet location. Owner lives upstairs but very discreet - we only saw him on arrival and departure but was clearly very helpful and friendly. Supermarkets close by and good access to main roads and rail station. Excellent value for money
Charming Apartment in the Countryside
The apartment was the ideal place to relax and unwind during our visit to Bologna. Marco Venturi was extremely cordial and helpful upon our arrival and during our stay. The apartment appears exactly as shown in the photos. It is quite spacious, has a very well equipped kitchen, and is well kept. The apartment is surrounded by a beautiful garden/lawn and has outdoor seating to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. It is also on the ground floor which makes unloading luggage convenient.
The apartment's location (about 4 miles from Bologna) affords easy access to the major highways that intersect in Bologna, or one can enjoy driving the secondary roads through the countryside to reach Bologna, Ferrara, Modena and lots of other interesting places. There is a very nice supermarket (Conad) in town, and a larger shopping center with a large COOP supermarket in nearby Castel Maggiore that has a variety of goods in addition to food. Lastly, there are several ice-cream places (gelaterie) that serve some of the best gelato we had during our stay in Italy.
If you are looking to escape the congestion, noise and heat of the city while visiting some of the beautiful towns of Emilia-Romagna, we highly recommend a stay at Marco's apartment.
I thank you for your kindness and your nice review. You perfectly pointed out the advantages of staying a bit far from the city center. I hope to meet you again.
Perfect little place in the country side
My wife and I stayed at Marcos house this past week March 2018 while attending the Cosmoprof show in Bologna. While the house is not in the city is a easy drive to Bologna Fiera and neighboring towns..... Short drive to Florence , Ferrara, Venice, etc....... All most see places!!! We loved the peace and quiet of the country side with the short distance to the city of Bologna... short enough that you can go back and forth from the Fair to the house....
I would recommend this property in a second and will definitely come back......
The house has all the conveniences needed for a short and long stay.... Shower pressure was the best!!!!... The only negative for me would be the lack of a Microwave.... but everything else was perfect......
Yes, you need your own transportation.....
I thank you for your visit and for your kind review!
Extremely comfortable and great location as a base
We had a wonderful stay at this property which was excellent both in comfort and as a location base for visiting various other places.
The apartment has everything you need for self catering and is very comfortable.
We are a family of 4 with 2 grown up teenagers of 17 and 18 years and the single beds in the 2nd bedroom were absolutely fine for them.
There is plenty to see area this part of Italy - we had days out to Venice on the train (easy to do), Verona, Pisa, Florence, Milan, Ferrari Museum and Parma. As well as other more local days out into Bolonga for example.
Funo itself is a little quiet but has several pizza restaurants and is well served for supermarkets.
Overall definitely recommend this accommodation if you want to use it as a base for heading off for days out. You will need a car to get around though.
Thanks a lot! It is always a pleasure to deal with people as kind as you.
The property is in the countryside between Bologna and Ferrara.
There's a path that from the house leads to a park with woods, lake and pic-nic site, ideal for walking and bird watching.
In Funo there is a local railway station. It permits to travel easily to Ferrara, Padova, Venice or Bologna.
Only 1 km. far from the house there is one of the famous Lamborghini museums. Take a look at http://www.bolognawelcome.com/en/places-to-see/suggested-itineraries/params/Percorso_20/Luoghi_500/ref/Museum%20Ferruccio%20Lamborghini
The house in only 25 minutes from FICO Eataly World , the world's largest agri-food park http:www.eatalyworld.it/en.
The highway (A13) is only 3 km away so this house is a good starting point for visiting many cities: Bologna (19 km.), Ferrara (44 km), Ravenna (90km), Padova(110km) , Florence (130 km), Venice (150km).
It takes one hour by car to go to the seaside (Lidi Ferraresi beaches 90km).
The Appennini Mountains are 90 km away (Sestola 1.000 m. above sea level, nice for skiing in winter).
You can enjoy yourself in a great amusement park called Mirabilandia which is 95 km away.
Also excellent solution of accommodation for Bologna Fair Exhibition Centre (Bologna fiere) , Ferrara fiere or Centergross.
