About Owners/ Property Managers: Jerry and Renee LiaBraaten
Jerry is from Virginia, MN and Renee is from St. Clair, MI. We grew up vacationing and boating on the majestic Great Lakes and many beautiful inland lakes in our home states. We fell in love with mid-coast Maine on our first visit to Camden in 1990, partly because it reminded us so much of Michigan and Minnesota, with the added allure and beauty of the ocean. We spent the next seven years searching for the perfect spot to build a get away for our family. As the years went by, it became increasingly difficult to leave the Maine cottage when our vacation was over, so we relocated to Maine in 2003. Each morning, as we watch the sun rise over the bay, we feel like it truly is 'just another day in paradise!'

Why Owners/ Property Managers: Jerry and Renee LiaBraaten chose Lincolnville
The view from our cottage gives you a snapshot of quintessential coastal Maine! Be sure to bring your camera! There is an ocean view from every room--and a panoramic view from the screened-in porch. It is the perfect spot from which to enjoy the pristine beauty of Maine and to explore the many nearby enchanting coastal towns and lighthouses. Our location also has the unique feature of being the place along the coast 'where the mountains meet the sea.' We never get over the thrill of discovering incredible views on hikes or drives into the forested hills surrounding our cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
There is a fabulous 800-foot sand bar when the tide is out which creates a wonderful place for beach combing for adults, playing in the sand for children and running for dogs. The sound of the tide coming in or going out is very relaxing and creates a wonderful setting for naps or reading on the screened-in porch. The porch is high above the water and is a perfect spot for watching eagles, loons, seagulls, ducks and osprey, lobsterman hauling in their traps and schooners sailing in the bay. The sunrises are spectacular in the morning and the starry night sky will take your breath away!

Comfortable and Clean. Had everything we needed. We enjoyed just hanging around the house because it offered a true vacation feel. We would definitely stay again.
Mid Coast August Week Escape
We had a wonderful August week in a perfect location. Our rental house was on the ocean, quiet, beautiful gardens and property, and ideal for being together with our daughter, son-in-law and 15 month old grandson. We spent hours on the beautiful screened porch relaxing, playing cards at night and enjoying a cocktail in the evenings. It felt like we were miles away from civilization but in fact were 2 minutes to Lincolnville restaurants, beach and ferry and (depending on traffic) just a few minutes more to downtown Camden. We loved every day.
WOW, soo fooled by the description "cottage" and outside photos. Inside is like a huge museum of antiques and perfect decor. Everything we needed was there. Short drive to lots of cool things to do. Exploring the sand flats during low tide was our favorite thing to do here!
Just what we wanted.
We chose this property for it’s A/C, screened-in porch, and the ability to launch kayaks on the bay. We only used the A/C in the Master Bedroom 2/7nights and we’re able to keep the main floor comfortable by just having the windows open. The hugh screened-in porch was a wonderful space to eat and hang out away from the bugs that were still a nuance during our stay. Although the path to the bay is steep and there are only stone steps at the bottom two 50 y.o. were able to get our 16’, 50lbs kayaks up and down.
We slept in all four beds and found that the mattress in the library pullout couch needs replacing. This is a beautiful, well maintained, very clean house with friendly owners. We would definitely stay here again.
A wonderful stay on Penobscot Bay.
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Even got a chance to take a dip into the cool Maine ocean water. At low tide there is a sand point that appears to scout. Great hosts !
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review of Paradise Cottage. We enjoyed your clever title and helpful comments. We're especially pleased to hear you had a good time!
This is a unique property that was just right for us. It has a relatively private access to water, is quiet (next door neighbor tried very hard to keep his dog quiet). Things to do up (Belfast, Brucksport, Ellsworth, MDI) and down (Lincolnville, Camden, Rockport, Rockland) Route 1. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, great food, unique shopping opportunities all close by. Or just quiet relaxation. Basement was a tad musty. Spiral stairs won't suit everyone. No television in bedroom or family room. But some may not want that. Overall we had a great time and will consider re-booking in the future.
It's important to us that our guests enjoy themselves at Paradise Cottage. We welcome and appreciate constructive comments and work hard to correct issues when they arise. Regarding the "tad musty" basement, we've had an unusually wet and cool spring/early summer. but things are drying out with the beautiful July sunshine--and we've upgraded our dehumidifier!
Located just 5 miles north of post-card perfect Camden, there is no end to the pleasures that await you in this enchanting custom designed 3,000 square foot cottage with detailed woodwork and hardwood floors/ceramic tile throughout. The main floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, full bath, and great room complete with stone fireplace and baby grand piano. A spiral staircase winds to a cathedral ceilinged TV loft/library with window seat (ideal writer's retreat!)and master bedroom suite with private bath, whirlpool tub, and enclosed balcony overlooking the ocean. The lower level, also accessed by the spiral staircase, includes an inviting guest bedroom with queen-size bed, a cozy gallery, laundry room, bath and sauna. Both the loft and great room are complimented with queen size sleeper sofas.
You'll savor breathtaking ocean views from every room! French doors on the main level open to a 320 square foot screened-in porch and a meandering path down to 115 feet of ocean frontage. Wake up to stunning sunrises over Penobscot Bay and fall asleep to the sound of waves washing ashore. Spend the day on the deck, relaxing in the hammock, or exploring the beach while watching windjammers sail by, lobster boats making their rounds, and gulls, osprey, loons and eagles circling overhead. Or, hike to Mt. Battie for panoramic views, experience the quaint shops, antique and art galleries and unique restaurants in Lincolnville Beach and Camden, travel by ferry to explore the nearby islands or take a day trip to Acadia National Park. In the evening, feast on lobster, curl up by the fire, unwind in the sauna and cool off on the screened-in porch under a canopy of brilliant stars.
