This property was great! Super clean and made for a perfect girls trip!
Will stay here again. Loved it!
Wonderful way to get away, unwind and connect with friends! Beautiful cabin, extremely clean!
Clean as can be! Bigger than you think!
First and foremost, this place is CLEAN inside! That alone is a major selling point. It’s very rustic outside, so you’ll be amazed by the contrast indoors! When you first pull up to this property it looks built into the forest, totally surrounded by giant trees, the cottage looks unassuming- you’ll be shocked when you open the door- kind of like Dorothy stepping out of her home when she lands in Oz! I knew from the photos that this was the right place, but my husband didn’t believe it at first. He thought there was no way it could be that big inside, but sure enough, you open the door and it’s bright and airy and clean and smells of cedar and pine! :)
We only stayed for long weekend so we and our three kids could go hiking in Hocking Hills and thought of wherever we would stay to be our base camp for sleeping but at the same time, we weren’t interested in roughing it. We wanted to stay in a nice place in case the weather was bad so we wouldn’t feel trapped in a tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere. We wanted space and comfort. We lucked out on all accounts and had a perfect weekend of sunshine!
And this place is clean, comfortable, and there was enough room for us to spread out. The deck has you right up in the oaks- you feel like you’re in a treehouse. Big windows for nice views, as well.
*As other reviews stated, there is no cell service. But that isn’t the fault of the owner. Most of the area doesn’t have it either. I had to rely on my iPhone location services to drive anywhere*
We got the chance to hike four gorgeous spots:
Conckles Hollow (I highly recommend walking the gorge! We did the rim the first day and it was INTENSE and kind of scary! Especially with kids- keep them close! It took us 2.5 hrs to hike 2.5 miles because you had to be very intentional with each step)
We also took the short and lovely hike to Ash Cave that afternoon. Next day we hiked Old Man’s Cave- wow! This was the coolest! If I ever come back, I would do it on a weekday as it was pretty crowded in a few spots. We also walked to beautiful Cedar Falls- again, try a weekday.
We got up early our last day, packed, and cleaned the cottage as instructed on the house rules, so we could go back to Conckles Hollow but this time to hike the gorge- it’s like being in a prehistoric park. Insanely magical. And bonus: it was a Monday and we could really soak in the views and take photos that didn’t include waiting for fellow tourists to pass by.
Once you step inside, the house will leave you speechless! Very clean and kept up. After hitting up the state parks and hiking, we enjoyed the hot tub to unwind. Great place for a vacation!!
Very nice place!
Had everything that you would want or need. Clean, pleasant, low hassle. Great hot tub and easy to find. Definitely a nice place to stay and we enjoyed it quite a bit. Kitchen well equipped, plenty of firewood, very quite road. We did not see or hear much of anyone at all while we were in the cabin.
Our cottage is located on 5 private acres in gorgeous Hocking Hills. Get away from it all and relax enjoying the wildlife and scenery. Many attractions including Old Man's Cave, Hocking Valley Canoe Livery, Cantwell Cliffs, Horseback riding/hiking/fishing, Lake Logan and so much more
