Resort quality accommodation For A Small Family Vacation
About David Gibbs
I am a RN and my spouse is a Psychologist. The property was built for family vacations. As a custom home designer and contractor I built homes in Hayden Lake. I designed this classic Craftsman Style home which was just finished in 2013. We prefer to rent direct to our customers and you can reach us at anytime: Dave (208) 651-6433. The rooms have 10 ft ceilings yet feels cozy. The interior has some accent white pine walls & ceilings, beautiful knotty maple cabinets with tile counters in kitchen and the bath. We have enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, wild life and views of sunsets over the mountain tops.
David Gibbs purchased this House in 2008
Why David Gibbs chose Hayden
You have the option to rent our 24 foot Chapparal Sunesta power boat (if you are an experienced boat operator) for an additional $1500/week. Local boat rentals go for $350+/day that are smaller and not nearly as nice. The dock surface is TREX planking (which is splinter free and resists slipping when wet). Few houses on Hayden Lake get late afternoon sun or have a sandy beach. If the property does not face west it can be dark early and colder once the sunlight is gone. The water is warmer, has less boat traffic & noise than Lake Coeur d'Alene. Many other rentals are referred to as 'rustic' or 'cabin' meaning they are old and worn. The quality of this house is similar to what you would find at a resort. The house has superior insulation and with the heat pump it is cool in the hot summer days. This property has lots of parking and a boat launch is a mile away if you bring your own boat. The walk down to the lake is a gentle non rocky slope. There is an awning over the lake side deck to block the sun. There is a fire pit on the property and fire wood is for the taking in the forest. Most days you will see deer in the evening, sometimes Lake Otters come to the dock and there are Osprey nest to view close by. Free use of paddle board, 3 kayaks, peddle boat & row 14 ft fishing boat. We will also consider dogs upon review by owners.
What makes this House unique
If you boat & swim, having an easy accessible beach and dock makes a great gathering place for the family. The 2nd deck immediately above the beach gives a place for the adults to lounge while have a view of all that goes on. The owner will consider the rental of a 24 foot Chaparral lake boat to qualified renters. A 14ft aluminum Jon row boat for fishing. Free use of a small peddle boat and three Kayaks and a paddle board are are available for your use. The lake bottom in the swim area is covered with large screened frames that prevent any grass growth.

Hayden Lake Vacation Home Information Heating/Air conditioning: Instruction on how to use the thermostat for the system is taped to the wall. The house is extremely well insulated and will retain the coolness when you leave during the day so you do not need to leave the A/C on when not there. Putting up the shade drapes reduces radiant heat in the house tremendously. Use the front drapes for the AM sun and rear drapes in the afternoon). There are nails above the wood trim you can place the curtain grommets over. There is also a curtain for the French door leading to the deck. On the wall to the left of the china hutch is a switch up high. When it gets hot outside, put the switch in the up position and this turns on the attic exhaust fan that will lower the attic temperature. Flip the switch down after the sunset. BBQ: The tank is full, if it runs out the Exxon station at the corner of I95 and Hayden Avenue will fill it for $12. Make sure the tank valve is turned off after each use. Beach and outside lower areas: Two houses were demolished two years ago and even though all the debris and broken glass had been picked up, some glass may appear when the rain washes away soil. Please always wear foot wear when outside. Please avoid using glass bottles on the beach, past renters have broken some beer bottles and every now and then a shard will appear. Please do not allow children to play on the boat or try to walk on the pontoons next to the dock, it is very easy to slip and strike your head on the edge of the dock. There are flashlights in the bin on the backside of the door of the dining room closet for emergency use. Kitchen: Because the waste water goes into a septic system, please do not put grease down the drain, this will reduce the effectiveness of the system. Life jackets We ask that all children be supervised while near the water. When using the kayaks or peddle boat, life vests must be worn. Sometimes the neighbor to the left: Dick & Judy Sutherland’s grand children may borrow the kayaks, if they are on their beach feel free to use them (there is a total of three). There is one white seat back on the upper deck to use in the peddle boat for a short person, do not leave it on the dock because it will get blown in the water and float away. Garbage: Keep garbage in the cans, if the bags are full ties the tops and them keep inside of the garage, we do not want to attract any bears. We recycle so you can bag seperatly from the garbage any glass, steel or aluminum cans, cardboard and paper. Wash machine: Because of the limited capacity of the septic drain field we ask that the washer be used sparingly and large frequent loads not be done prior to leaving. House cleaning: The house keeper is paid by the hour to clean after you leave, so the cleaner the house is the sooner she can finish. She charges a minimum of three hours. All extra paper goods and cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaner are in the closet in the dining room. Bathroom: The tub curtain hangs from a curved rod, please avoid pull on this rod or using it to hold getting in or out of the tub. It will pull lose from the tile and it is expensive to repair. The lower bar can be used to dry towels. The toilet is dual flushing, one quick handle flush for #1 or hold it down for a #2 flush. This property is an excellent location for a single family. This is not a property for those that have mobility issues as there is stairs inside and a hill to get to the water.
The property is well kept, in an amazing location and we'll stocked. You do not need to bring any kitchen supplies - they are all available
The beachfront is private, calm and sandy. The launch is about 1 mile on water and is an exceptional launch. The dock at the cabin is very well maintained and has cleats on it for tie off.
David is exceptional at communicating and is able to answer any questions. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful lake property

Lake House Tranquility
Beautiful property and well-appointed furnishings. This may become our get-away favorite VRBO. EXCELLENT LOCATION. Lake frontage beach area. Equipped with row boat, paddle boat and kayaks. It was lovely to have our morning coffee on the deck. This is a great place to unplug, unwind and enjoy the sites and sounds of the forest and lake. David was a great communicator and took time to carefully explain the details of this if it was a great communicator and took time to explain the details of this VRBO. We will undoubtedly come back again.
Clean and tidy
Smaller than we expected but fine for our needs. Beach was nice and availability of kayaks and paddle board was nice. Kitchen decently stocked with cooking equipment. Great to have washer/dryer available for the week.
Great value, nice beach with deep water, clean and very nice.
kids had a great time playing at beach, swimming, and using kayaks and paddleboat. Small deck off kitchen without shade but good shade tent at end of lawn on lower deck close to beach (for watching kids). Lovely place on beautiful Hayden Lake, hope to return.
Our stay at this VRBO was very pleasant and comfortable. If you require a peaceful place in which to unwind this is your next vacation rental.
