Carriage House on the lake w/ year-round access

About Patricia & Frank diStefano
My husband and I raised our children here during summers and all holidays before finally making the jump to living here full-time. And wondered why we did not do it sooner! I am born and raised in Montana and have found that this is the most perfect place to be!
Patricia & Frank diStefano purchased this Apartment in 1992
Why Patricia & Frank diStefano chose Marion
The lake is literally picture-perfect! We have year-round easy access, clean water, great fishing, swimming, boating, wilderness around the corner, yet are only 20 miles from town. We watch the fawns come eat our flowers in the summer, the eagles fly by in the fall, the moose amble by in the winter, and the bunnies come out in the spring. What else could you want?
What makes this Apartment unique
We love to sit out and look at the lake. It never fails to uplift our spirits and give us a new lease on life. We light a fire down by the lake summer or winter and can talk into the night with friends and family.

I did not realize how far out of town it was. The apartment is ok. Owners have stored canning pots, jars, etc. in the kitchen. Little room for dry foods/goods. Also stored exercise equipment in the foyer. Little room for renters own storage. No window coverings anywhere but one window in bedroom. The owners are diligent about the upkeep and rules of the property. It’s very clean and they are nice.
Sorry you missed our location shown on the map on our VRBO site – we don’t like guests to be surprised. We do show mileages to the various points of interest (Glacier Park included) and there is always the location map on VRBO to get guests oriented. We are in a rural location on a high mountain lake - a place to unwind and enjoy the quiet countryside after an exploring day. We are not centrally located for “city” life or night life.
We provide a pantry and other cupboard space for our guest’s use for food storage – we have not heard of anyone needing more, but we will re-arrange kitchen items for more room.
Black-out drapes are provided for the bedroom – the other windows have private, unobstructed views of our lake and we have found our guests love the open view, both during the day and to see the stars at night.
We have plenty of space for guests to store bikes, bulky items, etc. – just not inside the actual apartment. We will expand our information brochure to say that this is available.
Very nice location and Great Hosts!! Super clean and very comfortable, well stocked kitchen with a fire pit a BBQ area right outside the front door. Stayed while visiting family in the area. A short walk down too Little Bitterroot Lake, nice, restful stay!! Thanks Pat and Frank DeStefiano🖒😆
Glad you enjoyed your stay - and your visit with your family! Come back anytime!
Beautiful setting and Wonderful hosts
This was our anyversary trip and the first one to Montana. We had wonderful time and already planing to come back. Thank you Patricia and Frank for your hospitality! We enjoyed your company and our conversations. Even though the cottage is next to owner's house it is very private. Very clean with beautiful views of the lake out of living room. Full kitchen (make sure to bring your groceries), comfortable bed (linens and all towels provided). Check in and out was easy. The water in the lake is unreal! So clean, you can see your feet as you stand with the water up to your neck. The beach is not sandy, so water shoes will help with rocky shore (we did not have any, but it did not bother us at all). We had fun taking pedal boat and canoe out. It is very quiet in the mornings, the water on the lake looks like glass, but usually by lunch time the wind picks up and it becomes a little choppy. The sunsets are beautifull and if you have a clear night, the stars are magnificent. They have plenty of seating outside: chairs, zero gravity chair and benches by firepit (firewood provided). The Glacier National Park is only 1 hour away (spent couple of days there). We did not have a chance to explore the neighborhood since we were hooked on the lake, but the hosts have a booklet with sugestions on restaurants and what to do in the area. Very nice people and they make you feel welcomed. Best stay ever!!! Lucy and Konstantin.
So nice to hear that you enjoyed your time here! We loved having you - the lake is waiting for you - so come again any time!!!
Great place on the lake!
Very pleased with the property and the owners. Will definitely look them up if we make it back there. Very pleasant experience.
Always nice to have such great guests! Do come back anytime!!!
Perfect getaway or home base!
We used this as a home base for exploring the Flathead Valley area. It was perfect. The place was clean and well stocked. Patricia and Frank were fantastic.
So glad you enjoyed your trip here! We always are glad to have great guests such as yourselves!
Beautiful lake. Peaceful. Owners friendly, are onsite yet very private. Not too far from Gacier National Park and airport. Accomodations: fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed. We picked up groceries at Rosaurs in Kalispell.
Glad you could enjoy Montana with us!
Little Bitterroot Lake is one of the clearest, cleanest lakes in the Western US. It is a family-oriented lake with no public marinas and 3 boat launches, keeping it fairly private and quiet. Trees, mountains, and wilderness surround our piece of heaven! Close year-round access to Hwy 2.
