The house keeper is amazing .
All in all the best holiday you will ever have !!!
We spent 10 days here at Glitter Bay. We have stayed at Glitter bay on many other occassions but never at the Princess Suite.
What great place.
Just as pictured , maybe even better.
Perfectly maintained, thanks to our absolutely charming and friendly housekeeper
I have no hesitation about recommending this unit to anyone.
The owners were also the easiest to deal with and are really genuinely concerned that you have a great vacation.
There were 5 of us in our party (including 2 children who were 7 & 2 during our first visit & 9 & 4 this time) & GB is perfect for us all. There are locals offering watersports on the beach if you fancy a boat trip to see the turtles or a trip on a jet ski it in Big Bertha, but they don't pester you if you're not interested.
The only slight downside of this stay at GB was the fact the restaurant area wasn't open. When we visited last time, even though it was quiet, the restaurant was open for a few hours at lunch time & we ate there a number of times as the food was delicious. Unfortunately, during this visit it was also fairly quiet, so they decided to close the restaurant. I understand why they did this, however we felt that if they're not going to provide food, maybe bar snacks (crisps, ice creams etc) could have been made available to buy, particularly to keep the kids happy. There is however a beach bar at the Fairmont which served nice food, & Jujus just a stroll along the beach which is well worth a visit. If you're visiting when GB is busier, this won't even be an issue!
You definitely can't beat GB or the Princess Suite. We're already planning our 3rd visit, hopefully in the not too distant future!
This was our 2nd visit to Glitter Bay 306 (our first being May 2013) & our 5th trip to Barbados. The fact we tend not to return to the same place twice speaks volumes about how lovely GB & the Princess Suite are.
On arrival, we were greeted with a "welcome home" by a representative from Tigerlily concierge services who look after the Princess Suite & there was a smooth handover of all the necessary paperwork for our stay.
The apartment is amazing. There are 3 huge ensuite bedrooms, one on the lower floor & 2 on the first floor, all with ample storage space (even for the amount we took!)
The views from the balcony are wonderful & it's a perfect place to relax at the end of a hectic day in the sun.
The downstairs comprises of (3rd bedroom), lounge, kitchen, outdoor dining terrace & second terrace area, again all perfect for relaxing. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need in a self catering apartment, including a huge fridge freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine etc, should you wish to take a break from the gorgeous restaurants in BIM & have a meal in. The whole of the apartment has air conditioning which is a huge bonus. There's also a welcome pack on arrival with all the essentials you need to tide you over.
Probably the best asset in the Princess Suite is the lovely housekeeper Ceralyne, who will look after you so well, from making a welcome meal which will be waiting for you on arrival, to doing your laundry, as well as the everyday aspects of looking after the apartment.
As for the Glitter Bay complex, again, it's fabulous. All the staff are fantastic & try to accommodate your requirements, from the concierge to the bar staff. The pool is spacious & you are able to choose a spot on the beach for your sun loungers for the duration of your stay, which is great as it saves the issue of people reserving loungers all day for them not to be used.
Glitter Bay is located on one of the best beaches in Barbados & it's just a leisurely 10-15 minute walk along the beach to Lonestar & the new Santi restaurant & even closer to Jujus & the Fairmont where you can also eat. I believe you can also take a stroll along the new boardwalk into Holetown if the tide is out sufficiently, although we didn't try this. The location is perfect as it's just a few stops on the bus to Holetown or there are plenty of parking spaces at Glitter Bay if you decide to hire a car.
The Princess Suite at Glitter Bay was a wonderful home for our family for our week's vacation. A smooth arrival (airport pick-up was arranged) and a warm welcome (by the site's property manager) allowed us to quickly get oriented and start our holiday. The suite itself is beautifully decorated and finished with a high-end kitchen and bathrooms. The outdoor eating and lounge areas were our favourite part of the suite - it doesn't get much better than dining while overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
Bente checked in often to ensure that we were enjoying our stay and the suite's housekeeper was lovely and kept our apartment spotless!
We had four adults and two children in the suite and it never felt crowded - plenty of space for everyone.
The Glitter Bay complex itself is showing its age slightly, but is still a wonderful place to stay. It is very quiet and you never have trouble finding a chair to lounge by the pool or on the beach. The concierge is very helpful and the on-site restaurant / bar is the perfect spot for lunch. There are fabulous restaurants close by for dinner.
I would highly recommend a stay at the Princess Suite at Glitter Bay - we will almost certainly be back!
This was our third year staying in the Princess Suite, and we can't recommend it highly enough. The apartment is elegant, beautiful, and optimally set up. From lovely candellight dinners on the balcony, to waking up to a view (from bed) of the sparkling Caribbean (we even watched this year's lunar eclipse from bed), the experience is incredible. Our two daughters love the canopy beds in their room, and also love sitting out on the balcony in the mornings as the sun rises. The community is very friendly--the children can play together while the parents relax by the pool or on the beach. We can't recommend it enough and are devastated that it's already booked for our Easter holiday next year!
We stayed a couple of years at the same place at the Glitterbay, St James, Barbados. Why are we coming back year after year? Because we love the island....the beach at the Glitterbay is one of the most beautiful ones, white sand, and beautiful aqua blue water. The staff is friendly, the property is clean and updated, beautiful view ....gorgeous tropical garden and almost on the beach...walk a couple of steps in your bathing suit and you are there. We have never liked to go off the resort because everything you need is there. A perfect day: We walk for breakfast to the Fairmont, Royal Pavilion hotel and enjoy the breakfast buffet...lay down, swim, and walk along the beach.....for lunch we stay at the Glitterbay and get served at our beach chairs under the umbrella in the shade, in the afternoon we nap, walk, swim and drink a pina-colada. We also play some paddle ball or surf, water ski, go sailing......we see the sunset from the terrace at the Princess suite...do some emailing (high speed wifi available) we take a shower and rest a little before we walk along the beach again.....10 minutes walk, and then you are at to the "Lone star" restaurant..... where you can watch the turtles coming ashore during an excellent diner. Other days we cook ourselves, order a pizza, get room service at the Fairmont hotel (where they know us by now and greet us like guests!)
In short...you like the best vacation of your dreams....the privacy of a condo, enough space and a pleasant staff...grab it all and enjoy the island in the sun.....steel band music, some reggae.....even that you find at night during dinner. You can make it as expensive as you want and go for one night to the Cliff....or Chin Cin....go to Sandy Lane restaurants......or you balance it out and take your loved ones to Zacchios....and wow.....the hamburger at the Royal Pavilion is the best....After 2 weeks in this paradise...there is only one negative point: You don't want to return home! That's why we go back..year after year....to be clear.....more than 11 years in a row we returned...the Emerald (West) coast of Barbados...that's where you like to be!
Glitter Bay Estate is situated in the most lush, tropical garden leading down to one of the best golden beaches in Barbados. It has a pool with a waterfall and a separate children's pool, two floodlit tennis courtsbar, beach loungers & umbrellas.

Walk down the beach and have breakfast at The Royal Pavillion Hotel next door, or walk a little further for lunch at the Lone Star.
Holetown is in walking distant with lots of restaurants, cafes, duty-free shopping, supermarket, banks, post-office and night life.
Nearest golf club is Royal Westmoreland 5mins away by car.
