Great little Tahoe Cabin
We had a great time visiting this little cabin in Tahoe.
We're so glad you enjoyed your time! Please come back and stay with us soon!
great location, great neigborhood
Clean and functional with nice fireplace, lots of beds and rooms, nice hot tub, close to trails, lots of parking, nice neighbors.
Nice, cozy and well kept. Had a good stay!
The place was a little smaller than the photos suggested, but still had plenty of room. Everything was well kept and comfortable. The hot tub was a little tricky, but property management was responsive and all was well in the end.
Thank you for staying with us Shane! Your feedback is very important and we will be adding information to our App to eliminate any guess work about the hot tub. Please come back soon!
Really family friendly. Well located. Great spot.
Thank you so much for joining us! Glad you had a wonderful time!
A dream in the woods
I spent 3 days with my family in this wonderful place. It is the perfect recipe for relax and regenerate... You cannot imagine what it means spending a day doing sports (wake board on the lake, mountain biking, hiking, ...) and immerse yourself in a hot tub till sun goes down and the only noise is the one of the woods. A must go place !
Overall, the best way to some up this rental was "broken". So much so that it became a running joke all weekend.
It started off with trying to turn the lights on when we entered the house. We arrived late so it was dark. None of the light switches turned on lights. Eventually we found a lamp that turned on. The lamp shade was smashed and soon realized it was unplugged because it flickered and would turn itself on and off. Obviously it had a short. One of the legs of the coffee table was broken. You had to be careful when placing anything on it as it would fall. My wife went to open a cabinet near the kitchen and both heavy doors fell off and landed on her foot. The kitchen table, although the place said it sleeps 8 could only hold 4. The kitchen table appeared as though it should have an extension to allow more space but that was also broken off. If you leaned on the counter top it would move about 4 to 5 inches since it was not properly attached to the cabinets. There was a mirror that was just leaning against the couch. We found an empty spot on the wall that had a nail so we hung it back up. Even the clock looked like it was working but the hands never moved.
I had some work to finish up before I could enjoy my wife's birthday weekend so I tried to get on the wifi that was listed. Needless to say it didn't work. The wifi signal was strong but there was no signal coming into the modem. Meaning, there was no wifi. After fighting with trying to get it to work for a few hours I found some one else's signal near by to at least send the email. That still took 30 minutes to send the email. Just for the record there is no cell service in this area either. AT&T or Verizon. Of course, I don't fault the house for that part. If you drive out to the main road (about 1/2 a mile) you can get a signal. There is also a framed list of checking in and out procedures on the wall that my friend touched and the frame literally fell apart at the most gentle touch and fell to the floor. At that point it was just a funny addition to everything else.
We ended up washing all the dishes and pots and pans as most had some sort of food caked on them. The towels in the bathroom smelled quite musty and had actual brown stains on the white towels. We used some we found in the laundry room that appeared to have just been washed but the ones left out were not pleasant. We go to Tahoe several times a year and this is by far the worst stays we have had and more expensive than others
I just wanted to thank you again for your July 27th review. Since your stay we have made lots of changes and improvements to the house based on your helpful input. I purchased all new sheets and bedding as well new lamps for the living room and downstairs bedroom. I also changed out some of the decor pieces and brought over a new manual for the property. We had the house deep cleaned and had our handyman fix some other issues including repairing the kitchen cabinet & counter top.
I'm not entirely sure what the issue with the wireless internet was but, I can assure you that we have checked it frequently since your stay and it now seems to be running just fine. Hopefully cell service will soon expand to Tahoma but, in the meantime we do have landline phone at the cabin for local and emergency calls that guests are more than welcome to use.
Again, we do appreciate your thoughtful input and would welcome you back to try the house again in the future.
