I was one of the first to be able to return to this newly done vacation rental in 1/17. Everything is updated, newly painted, furnished, plumbing, appliances, and the most beautiful décor. That polished blue cement floor in the one room is a work of art. I want to do it in my home! The serenity of calmly paddling up the main river ( where the house is situated) alongside the ethereal manatees is heaven, an unbelievably romantic stay for my husband and I, and then again fun adventures when we brought the family(pets too!). White glove clean and everything provided, just bring your steaks (catch your own seafood) to BBQ. A true oasis. One is lucky to get a booking. See you soon again!
Thank you Anne for a wonderful stay at your private oasis! Loved the hard wood floors, fireplace and the open kitchen. We cooked in every night and everything we needed was right there. Great decor', plenty of towels and linens. Even board games and books- you thought of everything!
Truly a perfect home on the main river- close to Rogers Park and an easy out to the Gulf. We caught tons of scallops this year and will for sure be back next year to stay in your home. Plenty of room, super clean and all the amenities a family could want.... and our dogs too! They swam all day and even learned to use the ladder at high tide.
I would recommend this place. It was clean and the living, eating, socializing area is spacious. Best of all though is out back- a large enclosed patio, a funky little screened gazebo, and a the deck on the river. I could sit out there all day. Some of our party swam in the river, others took out the tandem kayak. It was fun and easy, and the river was so nice and cool.
Anne had pretty much all we needed in the kitchen, including a ton of spices. I went with my family and two others making at total of 10 of us, 4 of those being young elementary school kids and we were able to set them up comfortably in the front room. Luckily one of us brought an air mattress to accompany the futon that's already there.
The bedrooms and the TVs are small. But again, it's all about the river. The other thing that was rough because kids are loud in the morning, is that two of the three bedroom doors are not real doors but screen like doors, so it was noisy- just FYI if you travel with loud people. ;) Lastly, the main bathroom door doesn't close or lock very well- and if your in a house with several people...you know. The A/C struggled to cool off the house in the day, and the refrigerator seemed to as well- but honestly- we were a lot of people- would probably be fine with the amount of people Anne says should stay there.
The neighborhood was nice and had character. It was really close to the Kayak Shak where we rented Kayaks one day. We also enjoyed the back porch stereo and cassette player, complete with Tom Petty and The Rolling Stones tapes to listen to.
Finally, Anne was accommodating, and pleasant.
Anne was very helpful. Great House.
Our family stayed the entire week of Thanksgiving and had a WONDERFUL time. The river is just steps out the back door ~ GREAT for fishing and kayaking. We enjoyed watching the manatees and birds, too.
The house is spacious, clean and comfy...what more can you ask for!
Anne, Thank you so much for sharing your River House with us. God bless you.
PS Hopefully we can come back next year! =)
