Who needs a car? Right across the river from dowtown Gws. Bike rentals, kayaking, rafting all a block away. Gws Adventure park 2 blocks, hot spring pool 2 blocks. Train station right across the pedestrian bridge; approx 3 blocks away. Jump in the river practically out the front door! Bike path runs for miles! Bring your flyrod; lets go fishing! My house is on a very quiet street but so close to town you can walk everywhere. There are lots of fun things to do near by. The house itself lends itself to comfort and has a 'laid back' vibe. The house is ideal for a family of 4 or two couples traveling together. Master bedroom has king size bed and quest room has a queen size bed.
I am a 'chatty cathy'. I love to talk to people and most especially meet new people. The older I get the more creative I am getting hence my little 'beach cottage without the beach'. It is a happy house; full of color! I love animals especially dogs. I am a water baby so I love living near the river. I love the ocean and absolutely LOVE going whale watching in Maui. One of the most awe inspiring experiences ever!! Mi Casa es tu casa! Bienvenidos Amigos!!
Stacey Linman purchased this house in 1995
This house is the definition of comfortable! I like to be comfortable so of course I think everyone else does too! The house has a 'laid back' vibe and is filled with happy colors and things that I love. I hope you do too!!
This house is within walking distance to everything wonderful Glenwood has to offer. You are 2 blocks from the River; just across the pedestrian bridge from downtown where you can shop and eat at all the wonderful restaurants. One block over you can rent bikes, kayaks or book a rafting trip. To the west 2 blocks is the Gws Adventure park where you can take the gondola up the mountain and go caving or ride the rides or just enjoy the view and have lunch or dinner! You don't need a car to go anywhere!
It is difficult to really describe my weekend at the lovely "little yellow cottage" in Glenwood Springs, as my anticipated plans turned sooo South just a few hours before I was to embark on a girls weekend with my grown daughters.
I won't go in to detail about my circumstances, but, instead will fast forward to my loving, warm reception from Stacey, the owner of
this charming property.
The hospitable, warm and friendly "welcome to my home" basket that awaited me, immediately made me feel not so all alone. I know that sounds kind of corny, but it actually happened.
Immediately after my tour of the property, my dog, Savannah, and I headed straight for the quaint, fairied, gnomed, light-filled green grasses that surrounded the private patio of our home away from home.
I exhaled the heavy energy with which I had arrived and drew in the crisp, Colorado Autumn mountain air and loving atmosphere that was waiting for me (us) at the "little yellow cottage.
Thank you, Stacey. Your goodness permeates your home. Thank you for allowing Savannah and me to be your guests.❤️
My family did not like this home. There is a lot of stuff in the house. A lot of stuff for a rental!!! The second bedroom is made out of a porch - the room was much colder then the rest of the house. We had to wash everything we used in the kitchen: the plates, the pots, the utensils - they all felt oily.
The home was charming and eclectic. It is fine for a few people (we had 4 and that worked fine). There is not a lot of storage space and the 1 bathroom was very small. There were also very few 3 prong outlets. The bedroom next to the kitchen was very spacious and the home location was fantastic for skiing or hotsprings.
Master bedroom is off the kitchen and has a glass door entry so not as private. Have to walk through the kitchen and living room to get to the bathroom.
The place is very comfortable and was easy to relax in. Don't hesitate to book this place.
This was a great place to stay. All sorts of unique decorations on the inside. A great place to stay and close to the pool, some local restaurants and a 5-10 minute walk to downtown. If you forgot to bring something Stacey probably has it in her cupboards!
We love going to the Polish Restaurant Polanka, just 3 blocks away. The food is great and very authentic! We tried the newer Iron Mountain hot springs, but will go back to the original hot springs next time. Iron Mountain was o.k., but much smaller. We like to go after Labor Day to avoid the crowds.
This was the perfect getaway for several reasons.
The owner Stacy was great to work with. She is very responsive to any needs. Also, the house had EVERYTHING you needed. She stocked the whole house and worked it on a "honor" system. You had everything you needed.
Also, the location was great. It was within walking distance to town and all the great restaurants.
All that said, we are planning to go back next year.
