About Owner
We have been coming to Loon Lake for years with our now-grown children. We have many happy memories (and terrific photos)! We believe it's an ideal location for a fun, peaceful family vacation. We will be available by phone during your stay. This lake is spectacularly clean--so we DO NOT ALLOW MOTORBOATS. You are welcome to bring canoes, kayaks, or sailboats, but please clean them first to prevent invasive species from being introduced. We have a canoe and a double kayak for your use, as well as lifejackets.

Why Owner chose Vermontville
This is a historic property. It was originally part of the Loon Lake Hotel, one of several magnificent Adirondack resorts established in the late nineteenth century. When the main hotel building burned down in 1956, several outbuildings were sold off and are now private camps. The house contains a notebook with information about the history of the site.

Awesome!
Our family really enjoyed our week on Loon Lake. The house is beautiful. The views of the lake from the kitchen, dining area, screen porch and living area are awesome. We saw several hummingbirds at the feeder and flowers outside the dining area window! We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing and the camp fire ring. The water is so clear and we enjoyed kayaking along the lake edge through the many coves to see the fish and water lilies. We made use of the double kayak with our younger son who asked us the day after we got home, when we could go back. We hiked at the Silver Lake Bog, and near Paul Smith as well as walked the dirt road from the house. The beds were comfortable and had nice cotton quilts. The kitchen well supplied with utensil and cookware along with the gas grill as we like to cook. It was exactly what we needed to get away and enjoy the Adirondack outdoors.
Scenic views and a relaxing atmosphere
My kids and I spent the week on loon lake and loved it. House for the most part was great. Kayaking every day was a must for us and got to unwind some from the everyday craziness in life. Would highly recommend a stay here.

A gem of a getaway
This snug cabin nestled into the shore of Loon Lake is a gem! We enjoyed easy access to our kayaks from the large dock. The stairs off the dock made swimming more manageable. Plenty of beds make sleeping arrangements easy; particularly with the 3 bed options in the private gorgeous boathouse. The kitchen is jammed packed with everything needed for cooking and baking (grocery stores are far away so plan ahead), and the large kitchen island keeps the cooks in the center of the activities. The screened porch makes a restful reading and board game area. The understated decor wraps the Adirondacks around you as nicely as the beautiful quilts covering the beds. The wilderness and lake views from nearly every room remind one to breathe deeply and appreciate everything wonderful about a mountain lake. No doubt we’ll be back!
Wonderful lakefront Adirondack Camp.
Beautiful house in a beautiful setting on a beautiful lake. Do it.
The kind of lake house you dream about...
We love this house and love Loon Lake! The house and its location proved to be the total escape that we all needed. The house itself is full of charm and the way it can open up to the outside with the screened-in porch and all the windows is amazing… the night air coming in off the lake is just the best. The boathouse was fun too as an added bonus… the kids used it as a special place in the mornings to draw in their journals and we retreated there a couple afternoons when the sun got too hot on the dock. We hated leaving and can’t wait to come back.
Beautiful, peaceful stay in a perfect lake house
The cottage on Loon Lake is a true gem. Built around a charming, older stone house, the cottage is full of character and furnished with care. The house is well stocked with everything you might need, including a full kitchen, ample sheets and towels, and plenty of gear for exploring the lake. The cottage itself has been carefully maintained, with screens on every window and thoughtful details throughout. Best of all, the house features sweeping views of the water from nearly every room and a big back porch that's perfect for outdoor meals. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in an idyllic setting.
