Like camping in the jungle
Linda is a wonderful host, so friendly, helpful and provides fresh fruit and vegetables from the lush garden.
Staying at Hale Meow Meow is quite unique with some aspects that did not come through when reading the description and reviews: The cottage has almost no glas windows to close. Windows are screened (only). This is great if you want to be close to nature. But the higher humidity and cooler temperatures can make it feel uncomfortable at night. This maybe depends on the season. Also, the hwy is very close and naturally you can hear vehicles driving past. You cannot see the hwy from the cottage though. During night nature comes with a cacophony of frogs and crickets. For someone coming from the city the obnoxious sounds can feel overwhelming at the beginning. The mornings and days are so beautiful when the sun is bringing warm and light.
Interior is basic but very clean. The master bed is a bit short for taller people. Linda warned that hot water can be murky. This happened to us when we tried to fill the bathtub. Internet is available but quite slow (better enjoy the great view instead of a Netflix movie).
Overall, the cottage is really beautiful and scenic with a camping feeling to it.
