We loved our stay in Nice for many reasons. The location was unbelievable and for 2 single girls we felt very safe and secure in the building. There is a code to get in and a second locked door before you get to the apartment. We walked to Old Town everyday and enjoyed all the shops and restaurants. It was barely a 10 minute walk for us. The beach was also barely a 10 minute walk and was beautiful. We got really lucky with the weather. Valerie greeted us and was super accommodating. She even made an extra trip and came back over so I could figure out how to use the dryer. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment was bright and cheery. The bedrooms were on the opposite side of the street so it was quiet for sleeping. Downsides were that we had to go up 4 flights of stairs to get to the apt as there is no lift. It states 2 flights but it was really 4. I have also found that most places show better in pictures than how they actually look but we ended up loving our place nonetheless. If you are a fan of consignment shopping, I recommend bringing some extra money for designer bags. The are legit genuine bags and we found some beautiful gently used Louis Vuitton bags (Louis Vuitton confirmed the bags were real) for a scream. Enjoy Nice and definitely make it to Monaco!
At the heart of Nice
We enjoyed our long weekend at Mary's place thoroughly.
It has plenty of strong points:
- You just can't get a better location, just two blocks from Massena.
- It's only on the second floor, so even our little daughters could negotiate the stairs easily.
- It's very nicely furnished with a spacious living room.
- It's fully equipped with thinking of any little details. For us it was especially useful that the apt had all kind of baby equipment available, like crib, babychair, trolley, even toys.
- Valerie was also very kind and flexible.
The only downside - which is the trade-off of the good location - is that it's difficult to find parking on the street. You need to go to one of the large parking silos (Massena, if you have any place there, or Marshall 7 blocks away) that are not cheap: Marshall charged us 24EUR per day, so for the 3 nights it was more than 70EUR. You should keep this in mind while budgeting.
This 2bdrm apt worked well for two friends spending 10 days in Nice. The location was great and you can easily walk to the old town, lots of shopping, ,the tram and a number of bus stops. Nice cafe across the street for morning coffee and lots of conveniences very close. The manager was very helpful and accessible (English speaking). Just be mindful that it’s a second floor walkup, which is was not an issue for us.
Downtown Nice stay
Great location and the pictures online actually match the apartment itself which isn't always the case.
Really valuable support from the apartment owners both before and during the visit. Definitely going back......
Fab location, close to everything - no need for a car. Great restaurants.
Wonderful stay in the centre of Nice
We loved our stay at this apartment at the begininng of February. Even though many would find this an unconventional time to visit Nice, I would say it is a great time to visit this lovely city. We had a very positive experience from start to finish and can highly commend this apartment. We experienced highly efficient mail correspondence concerning any of our questions and an absolutely invaluable on-site assistant who went out of her way to help us in all possible ways. Thank you Val!!. This lovely apartment is ideally located in the centre of Nice. All amenities on the doorstep. As we were travelling with children (teenagers) and were on a budget, it was not possible for us to eat out every night. However, no problem, in this apartment, it was a pleasure to prepare and enjoy the evening meal at home, as everything is in place so that this can be done. There are plenty of small bakeries and supermarkets nearby. For us, the lifesaver was the "Picard" around the corner....we could enjoy a simple meal at the lovely table at the window with a good bottle of wine..... what more could you wish for. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept like babies.....especially those of us who were lucky enough to have enjoyed the excellent wine...The daily early morning 10 km run / walk is highly recommended and absolutely easily reachable from the apartment. We hope to go back and think this would be a good destination regardless of time of year.
Location, Location, Location This beautiful newly refurbished apartment is perfectly situated for all that the Riviera and Nice has to offer, only steps away from Place Massena, the city’s most majestic and famous square. The Square is considered to be the centre of Nice and marks the intersection of Vieux (old) Nice and new Nice. The world famous palm tree lined Promenade des Anglais is a mere 10 minute walk away, perfect for taking a seat and admiring the view, bike hiring or relaxing with local Niçoise. The old town is 5 minutes away, its maze of narrow streets packed with boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses and bars. There are numerous pâtisseries, artisan shops, wine bars and restaurants on your doorstep. World class shopping on Ave John Medican and Rue Paradis are 2 minutes away with Gallerie Lafayette on the corner. Venturing further afield, the tram stop and bus stops are only moments from your door. This apartment really is the perfect base to explore the entire Riviera.
