Why Leah and Scott chose East Boothbay
I have been in love with Maine since I first saw a photograph in my fifth grade geography book! The history and landscape are beautiful. Once we met the people of this region we knew we had to live here. We had been looking at real estate resources for many months. One morning my husband said 'honey, I think I found something in Boothbay but I don't know if you will like it' One look at the beautiful sunsets and gorgeous water view and I said ' Let's call and book a flight!' As we drove from Portland to Boothbay we were more and more enthralled with the region and the beauty and the food as we stopped to eat the lobster rolls!! We were certain that it couldn't get any better. As we drove through Wiscassete (The Prettiest Village in Maine) we were touched by the quaintness of this village and the beautiful Sheepscott River, once we entered Boothbay and drove past the General Store there was no stopping!! We made it down Ocean Point road and turned onto the road into Waters Edge just at Sunset!! Wow! What a sight! We were home!! Now, we always make certain we get there in time to purchase our groceries and wine at the grocery store on the way in to be able to get back home in time for the first sunset of our stay. We never get tired of the music, dancing, wonderful food, outdoor activities, and site seeing. We have made many friends in our short time in this area. We have explored the nearby towns of Bath, Brunswick, Wiscassete, Edgecomb, Damariscotta, Camden, Hollowell, and Castine but always are so happy to return to this very quiet and serene place on the water. Ahhh Heaven!!

We loved our stay here and had the best time. It’s a small little place but had everything we needed. It’s in a quiet little condo community with easy access to the bay. We could see the sunset from our balcony which was beautiful every night.
We loved staying here! The view of the water was beautiful and the cottage had everything we needed. It was a great place to relax when we wanted to be leisurely and a convenient place to come back to after a day of exploring. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
Quiet and relaxing
Super easy. Advised the owner we were looking for a quiet place to be able to see the surroundings.
Beautiful view and sunsets!
The property was exactly as described. It’s perfect for a couple’s getaway, or in our case an anniversary trip. It’s relatively close to everything, and if you’re flying in it’s only 90 minutes to Portland. We had an amazing time, and will definitely be back again!
Ok for what it is
The place is fairly nice but it is small. The doors to the bathroom are extremely hard to close and open. There were some soaps and dishwashing liquid but other than that there was nothing; no condiments of any kind not even salt and pepper. There were no extra garbage bags either and the cans are tiny and needed to be changed. Luckily we saw the cleaning lady during the week. As others have noted the bed is not the best. If you are a fan of memory foam (I am not) you will love it. The main thing I disliked was the booking process. Old VRBO used to be a site that hooked you up with an owner who you could contact and make whatever arrangements the two of you could agree on. Now it's all fees and business and "we don't make exceptions" and pay it all up front. Who ever heard of paying for lodging up front (months in advance) sight unseen? It's why I haven't rented from a vrbo site in a number of years. I knew what this place was like which is why I chanced it this time. The other thing that I found rather shady was forcing us to buy an insurance policy on the place for $59. Oh, they offered you the choice of that or paying a $1500. deposit but if you like us and getting a place like this because it is cheaper than most, you don't have $1500. lying around. I'm pretty sure that's what they're counting on.
I didn't really mean to make this all negative. The property this unit is located on is very nice and for the most part pretty quiet. Being on the water is always nice. The people were friendly.
Absolutely loved this charming little getaway spot! The room was perfect, with a little kitchen for drinks and snacks and even making a lobster dinner :) Well appointed and bed was comfy! Loved the outside covered porch for quiet am coffee and to just gaze at the lovely bay setting! Also, close enough to Boothbay Harbor to go out, but all we really wanted to do was relax and we did!! We would definitely rent this space again!!!!
