|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
We consider our Condo in Maalaea as our 'Hale' in Paradise. It sits directly in front of the blue Ocean with a small private beach and tide pools to explore.
From the Lanai you can watch the Whales put on an incredible show during the months of December through April. Maalaea Bay is a Sanctuary to the Humpback Whales.
The Sunrises coming up over Haleakala are spectacular, every morning it is a different array of dramatic colors. You have no obstructions to block the incredible view of the Ocean and the long stretch of Sugar Beach.
One of the best aspects is that it is centrally located to all that Maui has to offer.
The bedroom is nicely appointed with an appealing tropical flair with a large closet. There is a louvered glass window which allows a nice breeze that aids in a restful sleep.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need to make your stay feel like home. It has been recently updated with a new Stove, Microwave and Dishwasher, Granite Counter tops and new Cabinets. The refrigerator also has an ice maker. The upgraded washer is located in the kitchen and the dryer next to the refrigerator with a granite counter top for folding clothes.
The bathroom has also been updated with a tiled walk-in shower with a glass block wall, Granite Counter tops.
There is a Flat Screen TV, DVD, free WiFi, CD Player, Telephone and Broadband Access. We have attached a HDMI cable to the TV so you can hookup your laptop or other device enabling the ability to stream Movies, TV shows and view Photos taken of your Maui adventures. Both TVs are hooked up to Roku Devices for streaming movies and TV shows.
The beach towels and chairs, beach tote and cooler along with bed linens, bath towels, kitchen towels, hot mits, laundry detergent, fabric softener, misc cleaning supplies and light bulbs are all located in the cabinets in the hallway.
The cane couch has a dark floral print with end tables that have small ottomans tucked underneath you can pull out after a long day of sightseeing or a strenuous adventure. Along with the matching cane furniture the wall decorations and prints completes the tropical feeling of the Islands. There are new tile floors through out the Condo.
There is a fenced in Pool and Hot Tub along side an Outdoor Grill. Lots of lounge chairs are located on the lawn. There are also tables and chairs for dining and relaxing with a beverage. A outdoor shower is there to rinse off before entering the pool and to rinse off the sand for those who choose to hang out on the beach located right out in front of the Condo.
The Lobby too has the feel of the Islands . There is a parking lot directly out front of the Lobby with large fragrant Plumeria Trees. No Parking Fees.
Our first visit to Maui together to look at Maalaea Banyans, was my husband’s first visit to this wonderful Island. I lived and worked on Maui many years ago and fell in love with the diversity and beauty.
I was raised in Kailua, Oahu and have always carried the spirit of Aloha with me where ever I go. The Island life is like no other. We visit Oahu every other year for Christmas to visit friends and family.
We now have a Condo in Ruston, with a beautiful view of Commencement Bay. Before this we lived on the Ocean in a small Ocean Front Community called Seaview Estates for 8 years. Both locations are located in the State of Washington.
Jim and Cheryl Olson purchased this condo in 2013
We decided that we wanted to spend more time on the Islands, although Kailua will always be in our hearts, I prefer the quiet, laid back feel of Maalaea that reminds us of Kailua of old.
As soon as we walked through the door I knew I was home. It had a feeling of familiarity and Aloha. The view of the Ocean as we walked down the hallway was striking. We are use to Island sunrises in Kailua but the sunrise over Haleakala is incredible, lighting up the sky with a multitude of colors. Simply breathtaking. We like the location with just a two minute walk to Sugar Beach for our morning stroll and in the other direction just a short walk to shops, restaurants and the Maui Ocean Center. Love all the different plants and trees that surround the Condo and the fact that they are very well maintained, so beautiful. The Condo is located on a dead end street so it is very quiet and relaxing. The surrounding area is secluded with very little traffic of either vehicle or people. Very unlike the busy large Vacation Resorts and their surrounding areas, but it is just a 20 minute drive if you want to experience and enjoy the hustle and bustle. All along knowing you are going to return to peace and quiet.
We had an epic month in Maalaea, Maui, staying here in February. I can't say enough about our enjoyment of this unit, and the caring and ready availability of the owners, Cheryl & Jim.
It was clean, quiet, and ideally situated for fun activities and conveniences. The decor was island comfortable, and the scene from the lanai was unsurpassed. The condo had all comfort and conveniences, including washer/dryer, which was so helpful for our longer stay.Plenty of hooks for "stuff", all beach items, including binoculars for sighting whales, right there for use.
The kitchen was very well stocked with everything anyone could want/need, as well as on site grills. We cooked many delicious meals there, dining on the lovely lanai morning and night.
The wi fi was great More to add (computer jumping around...)
Wi fi great, very relaxing for everything. My husband enjoyed the cable access for all the college b'ball on the mainland.
the pool is nice and "right sized" as is the hot tub. We so enjoyed sighting the whales, and the honu on the beach, as well as the regular Honu who arrived on the beach regularly every day. We loved seeing him!
It was wonderful to be able to walk to town to the local restaurants and whale watching, and walk the beach every day. The beach by the park (Haycraft) was lovely and almost at times felt like our very own; not too many people; just enough to say "hi" and "good morning".
All in all, one of the best of many trips we have been on. We have been to Maalaea before, but this was the best! We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, now!
I just returned from five nights in Maui in our home away from home, the wonderful condo of Jim and Cheryl Olson at Maui Banyans. As soon as my friend and I walked in the door, we immediately noticed the lovely décor of the condo, as well as how clean and organized it was. Watching the sunset and sunrise from the lanei and the living room was a big treat, and hearing the ocean waves at night was just wonderful. Jim and Cheryl have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, and provide many items, such as toiletries, etc. so you don't have to worry about packing too much. The appliances are all new, the bathroom and shower are great, and I particularly loved all the prints and photos in the condo, making you feel very much at home. People at the Banyans are so friendly, and the grounds are lovely with a wonderful pool and hot tub. Jim and Cheryl also provide a book of places to visit and good restaurants in the area, which was helpful in planning our day.
If you want a relaxed, beautiful place to stay in Maui, consider renting this spot!! And the small harbor town of Maalaea where the condo is located is in a perfect location for touring both sides of Maui!! You could not receive better customer care from anyone else!!
We stayed 2 weeks in this condo and it was very comfortable, well kept and user friendly. The location is great as well, it's centrally located so not far to get up to Kaanapali area beaches or Front Street shopping in Lahaina. Just a short drive back to Kahului for Costco, Walmart and much more. Cheryl was a great resource for any questions I had and was always just an email away. I found that to be an especially nice touch and so very helpful. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone.
we very much so enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed was available to us at the condo. We didn't need the a/c, there is a "breeze" that blows through the unit when all the windows are open. It was more like a major wind when we were there. But it keeps it cool. It was hard to hear the ocean from the bedroom. Mostly because of the wind blowing through the windows. But it was wonderful in the living room or lanai. We had a little issue with the smoke detector and had to disable it. But other than that everything was as described. And truly, you won't need, shampoo, conditioner or other small items. There were some spices and tea too. The cooler and chairs came in handy. It is very private. We actually never saw an other person other then the pool man for 3 days. The Jacuzzi is nice. Really hot. It is nicely located on the island. We stayed up north of Kaanapali after we stayed here, and I think this location makes it easier to get around. We tended to spend a lot of time in traffic when we stayed at the other location. I would highly recommend staying here.
We had a great time and everything was exactly as it was advertised. Being right smack on the water was such a nice treat and the condo was priced perfect for our stay. Jim and Cheryl made it very comfortable and it had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We loved the location and I enjoyed watching the sea turtles every day. Cheryl was always available by phone and was very pleasant to deal and I actually enjoyed a few conversations with her. We would definitely stay again! I might recommend the dinner cruise from the marina, which was within walking distance. The one and only thing we noticed was the boogie boards were cracked in half, but that was just an extra thing anyway. Thanks again Jim and Cheryl! Aloha!
Jim and Cheryl have a beautiful well cared for and comfortable place! We were impressed the minute we arrived. Everything we needed was available and Cheryl was a quick email away if I had a question. Jim and Cheryl were very helpful with advice, making our stay on Maui just incredible!
Excellent place to stay. Great location on the island. Great view of the ocean. Fully stocked kitchen. It was just like it looked in the pictures and as good as other people reviewed it. I would definitely recommend staying there.
For the soul soothing beach strolls, you just have a 2 minute walk down Hauoli St., our quiet dead end street and you are at Sugar Beach. You could walk all the way to Kihei on this beautiful, long, unspoiled stretch of beach. On one side you have the ocean and on the other side is the Kealia Wildlife Refuge and Pond.
The Maalaea Harbor is where you can find both Award Winning Restaurants and low keyed cafes, there are shops, boating activities of all kinds, the General Store and Deli and the famous Maui Ocean Center and Aquarium. Best of all it is a short walk there from the Condo.
The drive to and from the Kahului Airport is only about 12 minutes.
The Maalaea area has the feeling of Aloha, far from the busy and crowded areas but centrally located so you can visit those areas, just a 20 minute drive North to Lahaina/Kaanapali and a 20 minute drive South to Makena/Wailea.
After a busy day of sightseeing and Island adventures you will return to your quiet and peaceful home away from home. Then when you have a good nights sleep with the help of the breeze and the sound of the ocean flowing through the Condo you will wake up to the beauty of the sunrise above Haleakala.
