Your house is beautiful and we enjoyed every moment we had there. It is very peaceful!
We spent 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. The lake and mountain views are spectacular. We started each day at sunrise with coffee out front and ended it with the most amazing sunsets. The colors are so unique. The wildlife was entertaining to watch, especially the bald eagle. Make sure you bring your camera.
The fishing out in the bay was excellent with other hotspots close by. The water was very low this year so we used the state managed boat access 3 miles away. A great place to launch a boat, nice dock, and very convenient.
The lake house has great lake and mountain views from the kitchen, family room, and master bedroom upstairs. There is lots of natural light, cheerful colors, and the open floor plan is inviting. The house was very clean and well kept. The front patio area and lawn provides a great place to entertain outside. The wifi worked fine and the TV had adequate channels although we didn't use it much.
The Irish's are great hosts and very responsive. They make sure we have everything we need and our stay is enjoyable.
This was our 4th year and we plan another 2 week stay next year. It's become a great family tradition and the highlight of our year.

This was the third time we have rented the property and certainly enjoyed our visit. This year the water was a bit low due to lack of rain so doing water related activities was more of a challenge. This of course has nothing to do with the owners or property. The camp is beautiful and we appreciated some of the enhancements this year in terms of sleeping arrangements. Truly plenty of space with three nice bedrooms containing full/queen size beds and a futon as well.
You can fish, bike, swim or simply sit by the beautiful lake and camp fire.
Our family enjoyed another wonderful vacation in Saint Albans, The cottage and furnishings as always, are impeccably kept. The water was very low this year, due to mother nature, so we were not able to kept our fishing boat in the water for the entire stay but we still were able to do some fishing the swimming was great for the kids.We dined a Mimmo's restaurant one night that was enjoyable. Great food, beer and entertainment. I would highly recommend this cottage for your next vacation, you will be surprisingly happy. The hosts, the Irish's are very helpful and respond quickly to your needs or requests. I rate this cottage definitely a 10.
My family and I loved, loved this vacation home! The lake is beautiful and off the beaten path. So quiet you can really hear nature surrounding you. The town of St. Albans has wonderful restaurants and gift shops and the people are very friendly. The sunset over St. Albans bay one night was as beautiful as any I have seen, even in Hawaii. The home is comfy and has a great view through many windows. There were no neighbors the whole week until the last day, so it added to our peace and quiet. We also traveled to Montreal and Quebec, which are within easy driving distance. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who likes to get away from city life.
We had a great time at this place! There were 5 of us together, 4 adults and 1 rambunctious toddler! We were really impressed with how clean the place was when we arrived! It had everything we needed there to cook throughout the week, which was nice, including some saran wrap, foil, and bags for leftovers.
We spent most of our time making bonfires in the evening, taking out our kayaks, exploring the area, stargazing, and attempting to fish off the dock. Lots of previous people said the fishing was great, but for some reason they weren't biting for us this week off the dock and in kayaks, and even 2 dead fish washed ashore. Just wanted to give people a heads up about that- maybe just the time of year! Either way, I had a blast 'fishing' from the dock and watching the wildlife around us and taking lots of pictures of the sunset. A few of the days it was clear enough for us to be able to see the Adirondacks in the background too- we loved the view! Note- if you're planning to make bonfires, the bay store didn't have any firewood, but we were able to find some at the hardware store in town across from the grocery store.
This was in a nice location for lots of relaxing, but also exploring. We visited Old Montreal and top of Mont Royal by car (about 1.5 hours away), Burlington (explored church street, ate at American Flatbread, visited Lake Champlain chocolates, which is much further away from Church Street than it looks like on the little fun maps you get so take a car there), walked around St. Albans (I particularly enjoyed a coffee shop called The Grind where I had a delicious maple macchiato (which they also could make in decaf!) but mostly because they had a little play room there for my 18 month old so I could actually relax!). We also loved doing a food tasting tour in the Stowe/Waterbury area (went to Cider Mill, Ben n Jerry's, Cabot, Lake Champlain Chocolates again, and Green Mountain Coffee). Those things were all less than 45 minutes away from the house.
Overall, we had a relaxing time! If Vermont wasn't so far from where we live and didn't have another baby on the way, we would definitely go back next year in a heartbeat!! :)
Our stay was wonderful. We brought our boat and launched it at Hathaway Point. It was a short ride to the cottage. It has a nice dock, could possibly use a couple more cleats to tie down better. The amenities were stocked well for our week. I suggest taking citronella candles for the mosquitos. The sunsets are beautiful. The fishing was superb right in the bay, so if you do not have your own boat the Irish's have a row boat there to use. Swimming was great for children young and old ,not rocky and lots of sand and swallow. There is plenty of sleeping room. It was nice to have a washer and dryer there also. There is plenty of parking in the driveway. Very private setting. Can't wait to go back next year.
Lake house is in St Albans which is a wonderful small city with easy access to shops and restaurants. 35 min commute to Burlington for the Church Street Marketplace, 1 hour to Waterbury and the Ben and Jerry's factory, and Stowe for a day of site seeing, and hiking; 1 hour to Montreal (bring your passport!)
