This 2 bedroom is just a block from the beach in Hawaii Kai. It offers the best balance between being close to everything Waikiki has to offer (just 10 min away) but is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here you can relax on the beach which is safe for children and adults of all ages year round. The barrier reef offers protection from the waves and the shallow water is very warm. If you have some more adventurous people in your party there is plenty to do in Hawaii Kai which has just about every activity imaginable. Here are just a few available in Hawaii Kai: Scuba diving, para sailing, jet skis, wake boarding, surfing, snorkeling, surfing, jet packs...yes jet packs and much more. There is a variety of dinning, shopping and even a Costco which are all within walking distance of the house.

The house has everything you need. The full kitchen boosts new stainless steel appliances and opens up to the dining room and living room. The living room has a queen futon which accommodates additional guests. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has a full/double bed.

Excellent place to stay!

We rented this property for our first time to Hawaii. Felt very safe. It was great to have access to their beach towels, chairs, etc. This property is close to all the popular locations. I would highly recommend this to home.

What a great place. Beautiful Beaches

We had a splendid stay here. Loved the amenities. Owners were very nice and it was great meeting them. Mark(property mgr) had lots of wonderful suggestions and recommendation. Loved the convenience of being close to everything but having a place to call home for week that was away from it all.

PERFECT Location. Everything we needed.

Close to Waikiki but away from it. We enjoyed walking across the street to take in the sunsets on the beach. Fenced/gated yard was great for our kids to run and play.

Hawaii Kai has all sort of activities and dining options.

Owners are great and are in the other house if you need anything. The property manager Mark was great and answered our numerous questions about the island etc.

Close to Everything, Great property

Was perfect place for our family of 6. We enjoyed the beach being right across the street. Close to Waikiki so we could go see the sights and do diner and is just minutes away. Plenty of great places to eat right around the corner. Hanauama Bay was amazing snorkeling.

Nice location but noisy

This property is convenient for visiting all parts of the island. It's less than 10 minutes from Hanuama Bay and 20 minutes to drive to the heart of Waikiki. Getting to the North Shore takes 60-90 minutes depending on your route. Hawaii Kai is 5 minutes away and has several restaurants (I recommend burgers at Teddy's and everything at Assiago), a Safeway and the ever-popular Costco. That was very convenient.

The home is stocked with basics and as a previous reviewer mentioned, plenty of towels. Kitchen is sparsely stocked but adequate for cooking pasta and making toast, etc. It was nice to borrow the sand chairs and umbrella. The washer/dryer is new but located outside in an attached shed. We couldn't find it at first and the owner was very quick to respond to my question with the information.

We visited in July, when the temps were in the high 80s and humid. The window AC unit that was expected to cool the living, dining and kitchen area worked hard but barely made an impact in the kitchen. We didn't spend much time cooking, so not a big deal. The units in the bedrooms were running most of the time. The window AC units are loud but helped to mask the constant noise from the adjacent road. If you are a heavy sleeper, the traffic may not bother you. But it was loud and at night the headlights create a strobe light effect in the bedroom closest to the road. The mattresses are not very comfortable (looked old when I lifted the fitted sheet), so I did not sleep well at all. Again, if you are a heavy sleeper or you are putting kids in that bedroom and it won't bother them, then it's no problem. Hopefully the owners will install room-darkening curtains, which would make a nice difference at night and also to keep the bright sun out early in the morning.

This guest cottage is showing signs of age and wear. The doors were not properly fit for the frames, so there were gaps letting in light and air. Luckily we didn't have problems with ants or roaches, which I know can be an issue on the island. It was nice to be able to park inside the gate so we didn't have to worry about the rental car.

This place was perfect! I definitely reccomend! Spacious and has everything in it. From a kitchen to a grill outside. We are already planning our next trip here.
