About Bob & Louise Olinger

We came for a visit and were enchanted by the Columbia Valley. We currently live in Canmore and love it, but the mountain biking, skiing combined with a warmer climate all make Invermere a desirable place to be. There is space between your neighbors. The neighbors are nice people. It's a very quiet neighborhood with mature trees and very little traffic on a 'no exit' street. Purchased with a view to retire.

Bob & Louise Olinger purchased this house in 2005

Why Bob & Louise Olinger chose Invermere

Summer: 4 short blocks to the beach, walk to restaurants and grocery stores.

Winter: 22 kms/25 minute drive to Panorama Ski Resort. Spaces for drying gear and storing equipment overnight. At the end of the day hit the Hot Springs at Radium only 21 kms away.

Great house that can accommodate a large family.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the house! It had everything we could need and it was in a great location! The owner was accommodating in that she let us drop off our food and clothing early. However, I felt that we didn't quite get the intimacy and privacy we had hoped for, as the home owner's working studio was in a locked, separate area of the basement and she was there almost daily to work or garden and she had several requests to enter the main house we were renting to grab items she had forgotten.

Owner's Response: Dear Myron & Lisa: I would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. With the hot, dry weather the garden needed more attention than normal over your two week stay. This is not the norm. In addition to this our underground system sprang leaks over the winter and repairs are in the plans. This will not be an issue in the future. We were in the process of purchasing another property and I didn't anticipate everything that was needed from my home office to complete the sale. I don't like to go in when I have tenants but it was unavoidable. Again, I sincerely apologize for being in your space in excess. My goal when the house is rented it to be available but not at the house. My last 3 tenants only saw me when they checked in. In closing, I appreciate the care you took with our home and the very tidy condition you left it in. Should you wish to rent our home again I would be happy to comp you one nights stay. Sincerely, Louise

Great Accomodations, Great Location

  • 4 of 5

Very nice and new open concept kitchen and dining area with adjoining entertainment spaces.

Sleeping accommodations met the needs of our large group.

Short walk (or drive) down to Kinsmen Beach on Windermere Lake, Dorothy Lake, and to downtown.

Look forward to renting again!

What a wonderful home and host!

  • 5 of 5

Louise met us upon arrival, and we could connect with her easily throughout our stay with any questions. The kitchen was better equipped than my own at home!!

Very cozy, lovely walk to the local beach and into town too.

Their home is beautifully renovated and we really enjoyed sitting out on the deck! Thank you Louise & Bob!

Sincerely, Karen & Family:-)

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived Louise was there to great us and show us around. She had a fire going in the fire place gave the house a nice warmth. She invited us to use what ever we could find in the cupboards and showed us where the extra linens where etc. The house has Hardwood floors through out and was was in great shape. The place was very clean , neat and well maintained. Louise has a lot of beautiful art work she painted hanging on the walls in all the room which gave the house a special feel to it. We came with 8 adults and 4 grandkids and the bedrooms arrangement suited us perfect. The older grandkids were not looking forward to sleeping on the floor as they have had to do on many occasions. The bunk beds and single bed in one room made this perfect for them and there father. the family room is off to one side of the house which worked out well because we could play games at the table and some of the family could watch tv or enjoy the fireplace for a quiet place to red a book. The short walk to the lake and downtown give this house a perfect location to access the many things to do without driving. There was a bunch of turkeys playing in the yard and the trees which gave the grandkids a special treat. Having an extra table to add to the dining table with all the chairs allowed us all to sit at the table to enjoy our meals together. Plenty of firewood and the open invitation to use it was great.

Thanks to Louise and Bob for a great place to be with our kids this Christmas season.

Awesome family time

  • 4 of 5

We had our son, daughter, their spouses & their 3 kids for a week long family get-together. Lots of room for the 9 of us. Also spacious front yard for playing with young kids. The 10 min walk to the beach was ok even for the 2.5 year old. We would definitely consider using it again.

Great family adventure

  • 5 of 5

This house was great for our multi family stay we had couples almost all with small children and we had lots of space! It was very clean, and was well equipped with more than just the basics. Louise was great to work with, and always responded to my emails quickly. It is close to the beach and to town. I would recommend this property to anyone with a large group! We would also come back and stay their for our next family adventure.
