About the property

One Bedroom, one bath, sleeps four

Enjoy the tranquility of Kiahuna Plantation at this updated one bedroom with soaring ceilings in the main living room. It comfortably sleeps four with a king size bed in the bedroom and a hide-a-bed in the living room. Since the unit is located on the third floor of Building 38, you will have an expansive view of the historic Moir Cactus Garden and a glimpse of the ocean as you relax on the lanai listening to the chorus of tropical birds. The Kiahuna Plantation is sited on 35 acres of lush green grass, beautiful swaying palm trees, exotic flowers and koi ponds. The orchid garden next to the Moir Plantation house is home to hundreds of orchid plants that are in continuous bloom. Walk a few steps to the activity hut where you can pick up your complementary towels and beach chairs and stake out your spot on the beach. If you need some time away from the ocean, than take a short stroll to the private pool. World class golf is also in close proximity as is shopping and dining in the heart of Poipu. If you are looking for adventure, try hiking in the Waimea Canyon, kayaking the Wailua River, snorkeling off the 'forbidden island', sailing the NaPali coastline, chartering a deep sea fishing trip, or spotting whales in season.

Kauai is truly a 'garden island' paradise and Poipu is the ideal place on the island from which to either wind down from the stress of mainland living or experience activities unique to Kauai. Our unit can be your home away from home as you experience paradise the way you want to.

About Bill and Kim Zeiner

We made our first trip to Kauai in 1998 and fell in love with the 'garden island' which is why we return every year. We come here to enjoy the island's natural beauty, the 'laid back' way of life, the miles of pristine beaches, the multitude of fine..yet casual... dining experiences, the art galleries and fine shops, the world class golf, viewing the NaPali coast and Waimea canyon, but mostly getting away from the 'real' world. We have spent time on all islands that are Hawaii, but Kauai remains our favorite since we love all things unique to this island.

Bill and Kim Zeiner purchased this condo in 2013

Why Bill and Kim Zeiner chose Kauai

We wanted to own a piece of paradise that was on a great beach, close to some of our favorite restaurants and shops, be located on the 'sunny' side of the island, and offer a lifestyle free from the 'maddening crowds'. Poipu was a natural for us.... Kiahuna Plantation allows us to spend time in Poipu with an 'old Hawaii' feel to it since its landscaping and tropical, cooling breezes provide a natural charm, but still offers the amenities we desire while on vacation. In 2015, we installed all new furniture throughout the unit and selected artwork which we feel captures the essence of Kauai. We also added a large smart TV as well as a new microwave. We feel our unit provides tremendous comfort and pride of ownership.

What makes this condo unique

When we vacation, we are looking for peaceful comfort as well as immediate access to the activities we enjoy. We love being on the top floor for the quiet as well as the view from the lanai. If we desire to dine in, a full kitchen provides that opportunity, but we also want access to great restaurants without long drives. Poipu Beach is one of the world's top rated beaches, but yet it is not 'blanket to blanket' crowded. The sunsets at Poipu are also a spectacular show of nature, and the best viewing spots are a few footsteps away. We will never stay in a hotel room again on our annual trips to Kauai since this unit gives us the space, comfort, quiet, and amenities we expect.

Nice condo and great location!

  • 4 of 5

Nice view- the condo is on the 3rd floor and sits up high enough to see the ocean from the balcony, plus it overlooks a lovely tropical garden. The lanai has a table and chairs so you can enjoy your meals outside; it's covered so it's not too hot, and it keeps you dry when there is a rain shower. The unit is close to the beach, 3-5 minute walk. The beach is incredible!!! Great for body surfing, swimming, snorkeling, & paddle boarding.

We had everything we needed inside the condo to enjoy a nice, comfortable stay. King bed was very comfortable and had nice pillows and bedding. Plenty of dishes, pots/pans, blender, etc. The appliances were a little dated, and the dishwasher was in the process of being repaired, but that was a minor concern. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I apologize for the dishwasher breaking down while you were there. I have installed a new dishwasher and ordered a new refrigerator since that too was dated although is in excellent working order.I have now replaced everything in the unit over the last two years so the unit is fresh and updated.

Beautiful Garden!

  • 4 of 5

Our unit looked out over a beautiful garden, one of Kauai's best! The unit was adequate, certainly. It would have been nice to have a few basic kitchen items - a few spices and condiments in the fridge. Also, a pitcher to always have cold water from the fridge. So glad we brought our own paring knife.

Good to have access to the Athletic Club, good access to shopping. We would stay here again.

We will be back!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay! I am so happy I decided to choose this unit to stay. It's a very short walk to an amazing beach (and perfect for our 7 year old to play in the waves) and a very short walk to the most incredible pool and athletic club. We started most days with a workout at the athletic club, then playing tennis, shuffle board, and playing at the pool. The condo was well stocked, and comfortable. THANK YOU!!!

Beautiful condo with a great view & ammenities

  • 4 of 5

I loved this place & the view. I thought the pool was onsite but it was 1 block away at an athletic club. The club itself was great. It had a pool with a small slide, bar & restaurant, gym, classes, tennis courts, bball courts, etc. The beach was great too. Only minor cons that may or may not affect you. The kitchen was lacking. There was not much cookware or basics. There was no dish washing liquid for the sink, only dishwasher detergent. We like to cook, so it was a little irritating. Other than that, the location was great. A short drive to Poipu beach, and about 30-45 minutes to Waimea Canyon.

Nice condo and property

  • 4 of 5

Condo was in nice shape, new furniture and very comfy king bed, great cross breeze from trade winds. Descent view of grounds and peak a boo view of ocean. Excellent bbq not far from suite. Small issues, needs a new fridge (leaked), descent kitchen supplies except bring your own condiments. Nice proximity to shops across the street.

Excellent gym and pool down the road, a bit of a hike. Disappointed with the lack of beach in front of complex, used the beach in front of neighbouring Sharaton, quite busy.

Waimea Canyon
Na Pali Coast State Park
Poipu Kauai hawaii
Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course

Poipu is considered the 'dry' side of the island with a great beach merely steps from this unit. Just a short drive away is Port Allen where Holoholo Charters can take you on a breathtaking charter to the NaPali Coast or snorkeling off the coast of the 'forbidden island.' An absolutely breathtaking drive awaits you up the winding road of the Waimea Canyon with a multitude of overlooks offering views of waterfalls, mountain goats, and soaring vistas of the canyon. For the golfers, access to great courses are either steps or a short drive away. Kayakers have fresh water rivers within an easy drive: paddle the Wailua River and hike a short ways to the 'hidden' waterfall.
