Enjoy the tranquility of Kiahuna Plantation at this updated one bedroom with soaring ceilings in the main living room. It comfortably sleeps four with a king size bed in the bedroom and a hide-a-bed in the living room. Since the unit is located on the third floor of Building 38, you will have an expansive view of the historic Moir Cactus Garden and a glimpse of the ocean as you relax on the lanai listening to the chorus of tropical birds. The Kiahuna Plantation is sited on 35 acres of lush green grass, beautiful swaying palm trees, exotic flowers and koi ponds. The orchid garden next to the Moir Plantation house is home to hundreds of orchid plants that are in continuous bloom. Walk a few steps to the activity hut where you can pick up your complementary towels and beach chairs and stake out your spot on the beach. If you need some time away from the ocean, than take a short stroll to the private pool. World class golf is also in close proximity as is shopping and dining in the heart of Poipu. If you are looking for adventure, try hiking in the Waimea Canyon, kayaking the Wailua River, snorkeling off the 'forbidden island', sailing the NaPali coastline, chartering a deep sea fishing trip, or spotting whales in season.
Kauai is truly a 'garden island' paradise and Poipu is the ideal place on the island from which to either wind down from the stress of mainland living or experience activities unique to Kauai. Our unit can be your home away from home as you experience paradise the way you want to.
We made our first trip to Kauai in 1998 and fell in love with the 'garden island' which is why we return every year. We come here to enjoy the island's natural beauty, the 'laid back' way of life, the miles of pristine beaches, the multitude of fine..yet casual... dining experiences, the art galleries and fine shops, the world class golf, viewing the NaPali coast and Waimea canyon, but mostly getting away from the 'real' world. We have spent time on all islands that are Hawaii, but Kauai remains our favorite since we love all things unique to this island.
Bill and Kim Zeiner purchased this condo in 2013
We wanted to own a piece of paradise that was on a great beach, close to some of our favorite restaurants and shops, be located on the 'sunny' side of the island, and offer a lifestyle free from the 'maddening crowds'. Poipu was a natural for us.... Kiahuna Plantation allows us to spend time in Poipu with an 'old Hawaii' feel to it since its landscaping and tropical, cooling breezes provide a natural charm, but still offers the amenities we desire while on vacation. In 2015, we installed all new furniture throughout the unit and selected artwork which we feel captures the essence of Kauai. We also added a large smart TV as well as a new microwave. We feel our unit provides tremendous comfort and pride of ownership.
When we vacation, we are looking for peaceful comfort as well as immediate access to the activities we enjoy. We love being on the top floor for the quiet as well as the view from the lanai. If we desire to dine in, a full kitchen provides that opportunity, but we also want access to great restaurants without long drives. Poipu Beach is one of the world's top rated beaches, but yet it is not 'blanket to blanket' crowded. The sunsets at Poipu are also a spectacular show of nature, and the best viewing spots are a few footsteps away. We will never stay in a hotel room again on our annual trips to Kauai since this unit gives us the space, comfort, quiet, and amenities we expect.
We absolutely loved the Kiahuna- so peaceful and relaxing. The condo is nicely furnished, very comfortable and we enjoyed the view from the lanai. The only downside was we had noisy neighbors for a few days (not something the owner can control!). We highly recommend this unit and will definitely be back.
Nice, well stocked, recently updated condo. Comfortable for a couple. Accurate description, clean and well maintained.
We absolutely loved staying here!! The view from the lanai was beautiful. We enjoyed our coffee in the mornings listening to the birds and watching the sun come up.
The bed was so comfortable and the whole unit was decorated nicely - we felt cozy for the entire stay.
We never used the pool, but the short walk to the beach was nice.
Really the only negatives was it would be nice if there was an elevator, lugging heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs was rough, but we got our exercise every day climbing them, that's a plus!
It would have been nice if there was some A/C, but we learned to keep the unit dark during the day and open up the windows at dusk and the trade winds were heavenly. Absolutely loved feeling the breeze blow across us at night when we're sleeping.
We loved the location, the staff, the unit - will definitely rent again and highly recommend!!
We've stayed at Kiahuna a few times over the years and always at different units across the property. We were very pleased with the unit & would definitely stay again. Although they don't advertise an ocean view, they absolutely could as it's much more of a view than some hotels we've stayed in that boast of a barely there view. The gardens below were lovely & everything was so close & quiet. EXCEPT for the Saturday night when we couldn't sleep most of the night due to two parties happening immediately outside the back of the unit (at the restaurant & at an event venue across the garden). Through no fault of the owners, this is the only downside (thus the 4 stars & not 5). Overall, great stay, great price, great local & thank you!
We had a blast staying at the Kiahuna Plantation. The resort is older but well maintained with gorgeous ponds and gardens. The condo was toward the back of the resort, which was totally fine and still in a short walking distance to the beach. My family thought that this was the best beach on the island, I agree. Great for swimming, boogie boarding, surfing and snorkeling. The condo was equipped with 3 boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas. The resort beach hut supplies complimentary beach towels, chairs and sand toys. They rent surf boards for $10/HR (bring wax, they are super slick).
As for the condo itself, it is not huge but can comfortably fit a family of four. The kitchen had enough cookware to get by, but that's it. Bring your own trash bags! The resort charges 10/day to take out your trash and change towels. So either plan for that cost or use towels wisely. I hope to be able to come back to the island soon, would definitely stay at this condo again.
We absolutely loved staying in your condo and hopefully we will be able to book it for a longer stay next year. Your tasteful decor and many extra thoughtful touches made for an extra special stay. We come to Kaua'i every year to run in the Kaua'i Half Marathon and your lovely condo is by far our favorite. Mahalo nui for sharing.
Poipu is considered the 'dry' side of the island with a great beach merely steps from this unit. Just a short drive away is Port Allen where Holoholo Charters can take you on a breathtaking charter to the NaPali Coast or snorkeling off the coast of the 'forbidden island.' An absolutely breathtaking drive awaits you up the winding road of the Waimea Canyon with a multitude of overlooks offering views of waterfalls, mountain goats, and soaring vistas of the canyon. For the golfers, access to great courses are either steps or a short drive away. Kayakers have fresh water rivers within an easy drive: paddle the Wailua River and hike a short ways to the 'hidden' waterfall.
