Our Aina-Nalu unit K205 is a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom condo with stylish interior finishes, vaulted ceiling, skylights, open full-kitchen, natural stone tile shower, granite countertops, our own secured free WiFi high speed internet, Cable TV, 2 32-inch flat screen TVs (in the bedroom and the living room), in-suite washer & dryer for your convenience, 2 air conditioning units, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, linens, towels, Tommy Bahama Beach Chairs, deluxe beach towels, boogie board, all utilities and everything you need for a fantastic & relaxing vacation. Located on the second floor, with a view of West Maui mountains from the living room and bedroom, away from the 2-lane highway (Honoapiilani Hwy) going by Lahaina, no noise from above or from the road. Matt and Shu ('Sue') live in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy the warm and sunny Maui weather as a break from the cloudy weather back home. We're both software geeks. We're avid hikers and snokelers, so if you are looking for great places to hike or snorkel in Maui let us know. Why Matt & Shu chose Maui

Since 2007, we have been coming to Maui several times a year and find ourselves splitting time between south Maui (Kihei/Wailea) and West Maui (Lahaina, Kaanapali, Napili) every time. In 2012, we were very fortunate to own an amazing ocean view property in south Kihei (VRBO 422954). In August 2013, we were blessed to own this beautiful unit in the unbeatable location Aina-Nalu offers - in the heart of historical Lahaina, walk to Lahaina Harbor, restaurants, shops, activities, etc.

By offering these beautiful properties to you as our guest, we hope you will enjoy them as home away from home and create fond memories.

What makes this condo unique

Historic Lahaina downtown was a stone's throw away. Restaurants, bars, shops, Banyan Tree Park, Lahaina Harbor and activities are within a short walking distance. It is also only 5-20 minutes drive from many great beaches in Kanaapali, Napili, Kihei and Wailea.

K205 is perfect!

The Aina Nalu resort is at a great location in Lahaina and this beautiful and quiet unit is toward the back of the property. It is stocked with all the amenities you need. The grounds are gorgeous and well-tended. We parked on the street most of the time and when there wasn't an available space, we paid $15 for 24 hours (you are able to come and go, just don't lose your ticket!)

We drove north on an excursion one day, went whale watching with the Pacific Whale Foundation on another, drove up to Haleakala for a sunset, spent a day in Kihei with a little time on Makena Beach, took a sunset cruise on a huge catamaran (through Teralani Sailing: very fun) and shopped Front Street and Whalers Village on Kaanapali. We packed in as much as we could in our 10 days and even relaxed a little bit too, of course.

Thank you again, Shu and Matt, for sharing your home away from home with us. We highly recommend this property as it truly is right in the middle of all that we wanted to do and see. We can't wait to go back to beautiful Maui again one day---and hope to rent K205 when we do!

Clean, continently located, clear communication with owner

Matt let us know the day we arrived of possible delays due to fires that caused roads to be shut down. Luckily, we made it without any issue but it was good to know ahead of time there could be issues. Fires were started from a down electrical wire. The fires continue today off and on as that area of the island is dry with persistent winds both fueling the fires. The Firefighters worked non stop.

The condo was clean and had plenty of room for our group of three and matched the description

Comfortable overall

We loved having laundry available

Plenty of beach items (for all ages) that were mostly in good operating order that were available including beach towels.

Sleeper sofa not comfortable for sleeping, the sofa was fine for the limited time we were there to use it. Not many people I know including kids wold find the sleeper sofa acceptable for sleeping. When I shared this with Matt, he was fast to respond with a great resolution which we were thankful for...awesome responsiveness and the island manager was equally as responsive and helpful.

Lahiana has many choices for food

Sunset in Lahaina very nice

Pay for the parking its worth the $20 a night and should just be included in the overall cost. Parking on the street is tough unless you want to be driving around looking for street parking for free at odd times.

If you park on the grounds be sure to put your parking badge in the window each night as security does check and will leave a message on your car if you forget.

Quiet surroundings with a few of cats around, I guess to keep the birds and small lizards from taking over?

Pool areas are nice and family oriented two gas grills available near pool for first come first serve

We were pleased they offered recycle options down by the pool so we could drop off empty glass, plastic and paper

Did not use the dishwasher

Plenty of dishes and wine opener

Plenty of things to cook with

Loved the bathroom very nice

AC does a good job

Frig did a great job for us

Nice to have Safeway so close

Great for just two not sure this is the best option for three or four

Responsive owner and his island manager is awesome, would recommend for sure and would stay again!

Maui Vacation

Great Location. We were able to walk to front street and enjoy all the shops as well as walking to the harbor to catch the boat for whale watching and diving. The condo was very clean and freshly remodeled. The owners were very helpful in providing places to eat and directions from the airport.

Nice place

Aina-Nalu is a large condominium complex in Lahaina. The complex is a five minute walk from the heart of Lahaina, making the location terrific.

The complex has two swimming pools, which we did not use, but seemed quite nice.

The apartment is clean, modern, comfortable, and very well equipped with kitchen and beach items. There is a breakfast bar for eating, and no dining table.

The apartment is a little dark, and not conducive to being inside during the day.

My problem with this apartment has to do with my own oversight: there is no private outdoor area for sitting. This is my third trip to Hawaii, and I have never stayed in or seen a rental that did not have either an outdoor yard/garden/lanai/porch area for sitting and/or eating. Hence my assumption that all rentals had one. This property does not. There is an area by the pool where one can sit outside, but nothing private.

There is a $20 additional fee charged by the complex for parking. We were able to find parking on the street, but there are very few spots available.

Overall, I would recommend this rental for its great location and very comfortable apartment. But if private outdoor space is important to you, as it is to me, it doesn't exist with this property.

Immaculate condo

We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely one bedroom condo. It was centrally located so we walked to most restaurants. The parking was $20/day but worth not trying to find street parking or parking when going out for meals. The condo is well appointed and inviting. We will certainly stay here again!!
