This apartment is nicely appointed and is very comfortable to stay in, having most of the necessary items to make the stay pleasant. The decor is well thought out and the space works well in making one feel relaxed. There are a number of small issues within the apartment, but that is normal for any rental property, and this would be one of the better ones when it comes to ‘small issues’.
The view across the marina out to the ocean is unobstructed and is perfect for watching the sunset, as long as the clouds stay away, which they didn’t during our visit except for the first and last days. It’s not possible to see up the beach towards Waikiki due to the Hilton Hotel, but the view is excellent to the city and down towards the airport. The apartment is high enough to minimise most of the street noise, but the occasional shouts of the revellers in the street or music from the restaurant below will waft though the balcony doors. Nothing too dramatic though.
It’s a short walk to the Hilton beach, and then up the beach as far as you want to go towards the main beach at Waikiki, with plenty of places to stop along the way. It’s also a gentle stroll of about 20 mins in to town via the streets and into ‘Shopping Heaven’ as my wife calls it - not sure what my credit card calls it, but it’s slight distorted now due to excessive use.
A few points to make on the other side of the equation. Parking in the attached parking garage is expensive , and the ticketing system does not work - there are other less expensive local alternatives. Don’t waste your time asking the attendant for a new ticket because none of them will work - keep the original one and just take a new ticket every time you go in and then give them both to the attendant on the way out.
The apartment is very comfortable for 2 people, but would be a squeeze for 4. The balcony is just big enough to squeeze 2 chairs and a small table on, though be careful not bump the table when you stand if you have any glasses or stubbies on it.. Communication with the owner is spasmodic at best - we had a number of unanswered emails prior to and during our stay, so don’t rely on an answer if it’s an important question.
None of the above are deal breakers - all in all a very nice place to stay
The location is great and in close proximity to everything. The view is fantastic and as the property faces the harbor side, (not the main street) it is quiet in the evening. The place has all the amenities needed.
The keyless lock was easy to get in and out of. I am a local girl from Oahu and try to get home once or twice a year, I would definitely stay there again.
Delightful condo overlooking the marina... Yup, that's where Gilligan and the Skipper started their 3 hour tour! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets to enjoy from the living room. This condo is ideally located just off the Ala Moana park and several doors away from pick-up locations for Roberts Hawaii and Polynesian Cultural Center tours. Not in Waikiki, but taxis and buses are plentiful- you can get anywhere easily. Tim was easy to work with and the entire rental process was seamless. We really enjoyed our time here- hope to be back soon!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Great view of the marina and ocean. The fireworks were more than expected and our meal at Red Lobster was better than others we have eaten at. The location is very convenient without a car, especially if you like to walk as we do. Bus and trolleys were easy to use. The only shortcoming we experienced was the sliding door doesn't fit properly and we could hear some late night noise from the street.
We enjoyed our stay at the Condo. It was very nicely decorated and all the required amenities. Tim sent us clear information ahead of time, which made getting into the condo super easy. The location was very close to both Waikiki Beach and the convention center (where I had some meetings). There was an ABC store right across the street (and a grocery store just a block further), which made it a lot easier to stock up on supplies for breakfast and trips to the beach. There was easy access to Ala Moana beach and Waikiki Beach and lots of activities. It was definitely better than staying in a hotel for a week.
Fantastic unit for both Hawaii first-timers and people like me who were born and raised on the island. My wife and I loved everything about the unit, from the clear and accurate directions to the thoughtfulness of everything that's provided (dish soap, starter pack of coffee, beach towels/chairs). The location is ideal since it is within walking distance of Waikiki and Ala Moana Center but far enough away that it feels like an oasis. Garage parking is easy, plentiful and, at $20/day, quite reasonable. I particularly loved being able to go for runs towards Diamond Head or through and along Ala Moana Beach Park. We will stay here again enthusiastically and without hesitation.
