Villa apartments located in the much sought after area –residential villa area

Merill Apartments located in Mellieha, situated in one of the most tranquil areas of Mellieha known as Santa Maria Estate, this small block spread on 3 floors conveniently served with a lift , and its pool site is adjoined at the back . The pool measures 8 meters x 4 meters with surrounding bathing area with plenty of sun beds and shades. A shower/toilet room is also within the pool area.

This self catered 2-bedroomed 1 Family room, consists of 1 double, good size bedroom,with ensuite toilet and wash- handbasin,and either twin bedroom, and with additional Bathroom,Bath, corner Shower toilet, wash- handbasin. corridor, Kitchen and living, dining area combined with access to a spacious Private patio - with table & chairs . Free Wi-Fi, 32' inch flat-screen TV, and a fully-equipped kitchen with toaster and microwave Safety deposit box, , Mosquito net, Tile/Marble floor, fans and iron & board. use washing machine is available at no extra costs, Bedlinen, bath towels and kitchen towels are provided and will be changed after the 1st week Portable BBQs are arranged on request. Baby beds can be arranged also on requests at additional cost. This spacious 2 bedroomed apartments are fully air conditioned, which is an optional service and at an extra charge.

The Merill Apartments are positioned just in the middle of a lovely valley were one can walk downhill and reach the sea shore and a small pebbled beach with a 10 minute walk from these apartments. They are found about 15 minutes walking distance from the Upper Main Street where one is to find bus stops, shops, super market, catering outlets, banks, pharmacies and anything the village has to offer.

This property has excellent bus links into the town centre, where you can then catch the airport bus to any area on the Island including Malta International Airport.

The most popular and largest beach on the Maltese Islands, known as either Mellieha or Ghadira Bay is found just 3kms away. Free road parking is available outside the building and a new bus service also provides transportation from the bus stop nearby the apartments to the main road. Where one can catch the bus to Cirkewwa Quay for a frequent Ferry service and also for boats trips to Gozo and to the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino.

The town is popular with Maltese and visitors alike for its picturesque , typical views , very good restaurants, entertainment and full shopping facilities. The village 'festa' is celebrated on 8th September- which is also a National Holiday.

The holiday apartments are owned and run by Mr. Joseph & Mrs. Lourdes Schembri. Together, they share at least 30 years of experience within the tourist accommodation industry. They have 3 different properties available, namely Villa Santa Maria Apartments, Merill Apartments and the Vista Apartments.

A very clean and unelaborate apartment very suitable for two with sufficient kitchen kit and hanging space Best feature is the large roof top balcony which gets the early morning sun just right for breakfast. The internal lift is very useful when moving luggage. Parking on the street is a bit hit and miss but does not make a big problem. Wifi is poor on top floor but much better lower down the building. Joseph was very helpful and welcoming.

My partner and I stayed here for a week. It is in a nice residential area but certainly not within walking distance of town centre. You definately need a car. I thought it would be very quiet being in a residential area but it was the opposite. All day and early in the morning I was woken by the local cockerel and there was a constant barking of dogs night and day, therefore I did not sleep alot. Also one of the neighbours played music very loud. The apartment was disappointing. The shower was a trickle and no parasol out on balcony if you wanted shade. Not enough towels provided for the week (2) sunbeds rusty and paint peeling off, on the whole the apartment looked worn and shabby, although it was clean. I would rate this apartment as barely 2 star. The bathroom could have done with a blind putting up as it was baking each time we went to use the shower. it would have been nice to have a welcome bottle of water in the fridge and also basic things like matches to light the hob and bin bags.This would not cost alot, but would have been helpful. The bed sheets had holes in them and were not changed once and the apartment not cleaned either. Finally The plunge pool was very nice and I would recommend Cross Keys restaurant. We ate twice there and the food was excellent with lovely views on the balcony.

Owner's Response: we are very sorry that this client has been disappointed - but in his report there are points that he knew about it - example the distant to the nearest shops - he did infact hired a car from the airport -so he had conveniences at any time,.- he arrived during midday - so we did not prepare any drinks etc. - He ordered the A/C card upon arrival - which we obliged. No one has yet complained about the noices mentioned - the place was all full up before his arrival and during his stay. We always provide 2 bath towels per person and as per our advert and we do not change if stay is for just a week. washing machine is available at no extra costs. sun beds are galvanized to avoid rusting - only 2 apartments out of 7 - have their own sun beds on their own terraces - one of which he stayed on. Shading at pool side is provided. other notes have been noted and will be taken care of.

Merill 1 bedroom apartment review

Had we stayed at the apartment for only 1 week we may have given it a 3 star review but having stayed for 12 nights I'm afraid it can only get 1 star. We were only given one towel each to last our entire stay and not once did the bed sheets get changed. The hot water was entirely hit or miss and at times the water would only trickle out meaning having a hot shower was a non-starter on several mornings. The shower head was also very dirty with green mould/bacteria clearly visable. The kitchen also had an ant infestion and would appear if you left the smallest breadcrumb on the work surface. I would like to point out that the owners son, Jeffrey, was very helpful each time I had to contact him. I would definetly suggest getting a hire car if you stayed at these apartments as the walk from the main street is quite a distance.

Owner's Response: The hot water system was taken care of immediately and is now completed fixed. With our very hard water - and by the end of the season- the shower and other mixers wont look nice - we do change them regurarly. we usually provide 2 bath towels per person, have contacted person in charge - and possibility of a mixed up.... guests contacted us after the week- when their towels got soaked from rain the night before, which we replaced immediately. When the apartment was cleared after departure - we took quite a lot of garbage - a big bin is provided outside the place for all guests to empty their own bins when needed for collection every morning. apologies for any inconveniences - client had constant/immediate attention when need - we would have been happy to oblige with any misunderstanding ........

Nous avons passé une semaine dans l'appartement du dernier étage, avec terrasse. Appartement très propre, calme, fonctionnel et assez grand. Nous avons bien apprécié la terrasse. Il est idéalement situé. Le propriétaire est très sympathique. Location que nous recommandons.

Nos 1ères vacances à Malte

Ile très originale, nombreuses excursions à faire. Temps splendide voire caniculaire en août.

Nous avions réservé le T1 du dernier étage avec grande terrasse et avions vu sur la piscine et les "jardins".

Propre mais bruyant car travaux dans l'immeuble d'à coté du lundi au samedi, sieste aux heures chaudes impossible et fiesta en plein air chez les voisins chaque week-end.

Piscine très agréable.

Voiture nécessaire, wifi et clim en sus.

Peu de vaisselle, pas même de passoire ou grille-pain.

Tout le linge de maison mériterait d'être changé car troué/tâché.

Mellieha Village is an excellent place to stay for holidays in Malta, since it is located in the north of Malta, one can easily go to Gozo or Comino. Whilst towards the other side, one can visit St.Julians and Sliema for further nightlife and entertainment. Crossing over from Mellieha to Gozo is easy and would just require a 5 to 10 minute drive to the Gozo Channel car ferry terminal. From Mellieha to St.Julians would take approx 30 minutes drive and buses are also available frequently during the day till late (in the summer months) . The north of Malta is also ideal due to being relatively closer to larger sandy beaches, apart from its own beach in Mellieha Bay. Nearby beaches are Golden Bay and Ghajn tuffieha which are also popular beautiful beaches.

The Village feast of Mellieha is on the 8th of September, that reminds the locals and tourists of some of the most important historic events from the glorious history of Malta

Located in Mellieha, this property has excellent bus links into the town centre, where you can then catch the airport bus to Malta International Airport.
