Fish off our seawall or our new 100 foot long dock, simply watch the dolphins (which have swam up to the dock), manatees and tarpon jump from our living room. Some of the best tarpon, snook and redfish fishing is close by.

Share the same scenic river view that lead Thomas Edison and Henry Ford to build their Winter Estates on the Caloosahatchee River five minutes south of our house.

Wake up to the sparkling Caloosahatchee River in the master bedroom has a fabulous view of the water.

Kayak to a private Islands in front of our house, or kick back and relax watching cable TV one of the LCD flat screen TVs. Large fenced in private yard.

We have tried to think of all the little things to have in the house such as shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers in each shower. Our goal is not only for you to enjoy the house but to come back every year.

Short drive to two great beaches (Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach). Approximately 2 miles from downtown Fort Myers. Additional housekeeping service available for $100 per cleaning.

About Brian Eagleston

We live and work a short distance from this house in Fort Myers. This house is our second house and we have completely remodeled it. We love the water and always wanted a house that was on the river.

Brian Eagleston purchased this house in 2013

Why Brian Eagleston chose River District

We bought this property because of the amazing sunrises and sunsets as well as the privacy. We are minutes away from all of the exceptional restaurants and entertainment of the Downtown Fort Myers River District. Completely fenced in back yard.

What makes this house unique

Fish from your back yard or pull your boat up to the back yard dock. Sunrise and sunsets are beautiful and must be seen. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful Sunsets!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of the sunsets does not do the property justice...they are absolutely beautiful!!! And enjoying them every evening from the dock is even better.

The house itself is very spacious with all the necessary items that your own home would have. My family had plenty of space to spread out and we enjoyed many meals cooked outdoor on the grill.

Beautiful house, loved our stay!!

  • 4 of 5

First off, we loved the house. We had a large group (nine of us total, kids and adults) and were able to stay here comfortable without being on top of each other. The homeowners thought of so much in the house, from the games to the shampoo to the grill! We loved it all!! I only have two complaints: I read in the listing that one of the bedrooms was supposed to have two queen beds; it didn't and caused a small WTF moment when we first arrived since we had planned on that and had to rearrange where everyone was sleeping. The other is I wish the dock had some kind of railing or netting; it caused my friend and I a bit of anxiety when we'd bring the kids out. I would highly recommend this house and we hope to rent it again on future trips.

Ames, Iowa

lots of space for low price

  • 5 of 5

Listing description and photos of place are accurate - very nice back yard on the river with an outdoor grill and comfortable furniture. TV's in every room but no DVD player. Well equipped kitchen. Property was clean. They do provide beach towels. Fairly new owner was helpful in trip planning and we would have liked more obvious welcome and departure instructions at the place. You will need a car. Nearby attraction is the Manatee Center - manatees come in the cold months - and Edison/Ford houses and museum, and fun golf nearby. Owner warned us of traffic to Fort Myers beach and possibility of more college students there, so we drove an easy 50 minutes each day to get to Sannibel Island and paid $6 to cross the bridge and went to Bowman beach and the Ding Darling refuge- both very nice- go at 10 AM for kayaking tour at the refuge. Bring lots of sunscreen and apply frequently. The Mad Hatter restaurant on Sannibel is great for foodies.
