Great location! We were able to walk to everything including The Big Dipper ice cream place, which is just down the street. The finishings were all very modern and clean. The sheets and towels were nice and soft. Cozy bed, too. Highly recommend!
This bright and airy 600 sq. ft cottage is within walking distance of downtown Missoula and a mere couple of blocks from the famous Big Dipper Ice Cream shop. When you walk in the front door of the Alley House, you immediately feel the airy, light filled charm and after you have stayed a day or two, you appreciate the quiet, comfort of the place. I originally chose this place so I could walk to my class at the downtown photography school. The location was as perfect as it seemed and the walk to the 200 block of Higgins St. was delightful because the neighborhood has personality and nearby Higgins street is lined with shops and cafes. Added bonuses to the Alley House include two excellent work tables--one that my husband used for his research and writing projects and the other (intended to be a breakfast table) that I used for my photography work. We both noticed the top notch lighting in the Alley House---especially the reading lamps by the both sides of the bed. Other thoughtful details include the books on hiking in Missoula, the extra thick bath towels, and the outdoor patio table. Special comment on the kitchen: It is well stocked with dishes, glasses, knives, measuring spoons, and other helpful accessories. We enjoyed a trip to the Good Food Store and had just what we needed so we could eat in. The bedroom is on the second floor in a open, airy loft. The bathroom is downstairs and is contemporary in design with great water pressure and an attractive contemporary feel. Finally, I can attest that the management of the Alley House is professional and competent. When we contacted them, we got immediate response---always reassuring. Based on our six day stay, we got to know the place well and we would recommend it without hesitation.
Great place to stay in Missoula. Very clean, well stocked, walking distance to downtown, quiet, very nice owner(s). Bed was nice and comfortable and the towels were clean and new. Terrific option.
We arrived the day after a snow storm to spend Thanksgiving with our son who attends the University. The Alley House was warm and inviting! Everything is in like new condition, lots of sun light comes through the many windows! It is within walking distance of many wonderful Missoula must see places, however the storm and ice made walking a bit tricky. The kitchen is perfect for any type of cooking you would want to do, I was able to make an abbreviated Thanksgiving dinner with a pre-roasted turkey breast and most of the trimmings! Amber was an excellent host, offering help and suggestions as we planned our trip. We will stay again on our future visits to our son in Missoula! Thank you!
The Alley House was walking distance to many places especially the University of Montana. The house was very clean and had everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Well stocked kitchen and being tucked in back made it feel very safe.
My husband & I surprised our daughter for her 30th Birthday! It was a special time for us. This charming Bungalow was in a perfect location. We could walk to the University, walk to downtown and to great restaurants.
It was very clean, had all the conveniences
Of home and a very comfortable bed.
Especially liked the large windows for the
Sunlight and my husband really enjoyed the special chair.
