"I don't really want to share this gem..."
But must compliment the owners for a fabulous property. My gal pals and I stayed in this home and we could not have been happier. The only problem was that we had too many activities planned. All I wanted to do was stare at the vistas and hang out on the balconies. The folks who met us as we barreled up the hill could not have been nicer!
We all loved the place, and it was cozy, clean, spacious, quirky, classy and more. The owners are very generous folks. Thanks again!
The property was very cute and accommodations were comfortable. The rooms upstairs were a little warm but we did go in the middle of a heat wave. It seemed as though a renter had just left before we got there as the dryer was still runnng and the code had been changed without notice, but Gretchen rectified the situation promptly. Would definitely rent again!
Very nice stay the house is plenty big four bedrooms three bathrooms great view air works great we were there in June and it was in the 90s every day the kitchen is stocked we lacked nothing just bring yourself and food. Whoever rents this house will be more than happy the town of Jerome is really cool to visit I have roots there so I'll be back thank you Gretchen for a great stay.
Making reservations and getting check-in information/access code, etc. went off without a hitch. Myself and 4 girlfriends from the Phoenix area chose Jerome because it's far enough away to feel like a vacation but a short trip in the car.The home was clean and ready for our arrival. Big parking area to easily accommodate two cars. The pictures did not do the property justice. Each room was so beautifully decorated with every detail you could imagine and more. The furniture was comfy, the beds were wonderful. The bathrooms were huge and a pleasant experience to get ready in for our day. There was so much space in all of the rooms that you could always find a quiet spot if you wanted. We spent much time on the wraparound porch looking over the beautiful view of the Verde Valley. There were some beautiful, colorful birds we enjoyed watching. The kitchen was fully equipped and just beautiful. I think it would be a good idea to mention that to go between the first floor and the second floor means going outside. Was not a problem for us but I could see how a family with children might be concerned. The only other thing to consider (which is Jerome in its entirety) is some uneven surfaces on the stairs and coming and going from the house to the porch (again, not a problem for us but I can see how it might be a bit of an issue for those with mobility problems). We will DEFINITELY book this home again. The location was perfect for exploring Jerome and it was definitely quiet which is what we were looking for. We ate at the Mile High Restaurant and Grapes and would highly recommend them both.
We spent four nights in this wonderfully-refurbished historical home and were so impressed by the quality and style of everything in the home. It was like stepping back into the early 1900's in every way except for the modern appliances, bathrooms, electronics (TV and internet), and heating/air conditioning. The character of the home shone through in every detail of the decor, right down to some sloping floors, creaking chairs and fragile doorknobs. We were so comfortable there and immediately felt right at home. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen, including a lot of staple items for cooking. The only thing we missed was a microwave, but with a tea kettle and a modern gas range, it really was no problem. The views from the Zamar House are amazing, including glimpses of the San Francisco Peaks and the red cliffs near Sedona. We enjoyed having our morning coffee in the sun out on the deck. With three couples, we were concerned that we wouldn't have a lot of privacy, but each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom, and there was plenty of space. The house is set up so that all the bedrooms have an outside entrance, and you have to go outside to reach the two downstairs bedrooms. One warning: The roads and stairs are steep and uneven, so they could be treacherous for anyone with mobility problems. One of our group had recently had knee replacement surgery, so she had to be very careful. Despite these minor negatives, our group is already talking about making a return visit to the Zamar House. We loved it!
My family and I loved this place! It was clean, beautiful, had awesome views, loved every inch of it!! Walking distance to downtown. We had a wonderful visit. I would highly recommend! The owner Gretchen was very kind and welcoming. The property was an awesome mixture of historical yet modern. Very nice!
We stayed at the Zamar house for four nights in mid-february and wish our stay had been much longer. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the amazing view. In fact everything about the Zamar house is amazing. It is an eclectic blend of high-end appliances ,antiques, original art and collectibles. There is no end of thoughtful details to make the stay luxurious and comfortable, and it was spotless. The house is convenient for walking into town, where there are many restaurants but the kitchen is so delightful to cook in that we ate in at night. Gretchen responds quickly to emails and provides information about checking in and out in a timely manner. We would definitely return to the Zamar house as it has spoiled us for anywhere else!
