About Julie Enck
Tom and I were married in 1991, he has grown up here. I am from northern Pa. Tom comes from a wonderful family, just 14 brothers and sisters. We settled up the road a little to raise our family. We needed more space, so we purchased this property to build the pole barn on and the cottage was an added bonus. After long term renting for many years, we decided it maybe better to try short term renting. As I am very particular with the cleanliness of this place. It is well sanitized after each use, you can rest assure of that.
Julie Enck purchased this Cottage in 1995
Why Julie Enck chose Eden
This area is surrounded by many things that we value so much in our day to day life. Quite country living, with great neighbors, that are scattered around us and these beautiful breathtaking views. We are privileged to take in and we appreciate all around us everyday. But still not to far from all that Lancaster County has to offer. From theater, great schools, to great shopping, community activities, outdoor life , many churches, golfing, many restaurants over a 100 brewers and so much more. We love it here. and we're sure you will too! So come and see for yourself we'll leave the door open for you. :-)
What makes this Cottage unique
In just a short 10 min. drive , you'll be in the town of Strasburg. Stop and enjoy your favorite flavor ice cream at the famous Creamery and watch the buggies go by. Maybe even see Thomas if he is in town. From there go on up 5 miles to the outlets , see a show at sight and sound lots of shopping at the outlets, or travel a little bit further to unique shops in intercourse, check out the antiques, try one of the many Smorgashbords available, many restaurants. Go into market on Tuesday, Friday and Sat. Take the kids to Dutch wonderland , or Hershey Park is about 50 min. drive for a day of adventure. Maybe take in a baseball game at the Barnstormer stadium, check for what games they have fireworks. You can travel on up for a day in Gettysburg, a nice drive up route 30, or down to Washington DC.(2 1/2 hrs), or maybe Philadelphia(1 1/2). You won't be bored unless you want to be. Beautful cottage with a great yard and the best indoor entertainment
We had a really wonderful time in this very clean and well-organized cottage. The house itself is a gem, with plenty of space and a small but well turned out kitchen. Good shower and we had no problems with the water system. Furniture is comfy and the place was immaculate. The owner provided many small touches that made the stay easy and fun.
The best part of the stay was entertainment. Not only is there a lovely backyard with plenty of space for tossing a ball or flying toy airplains, there are two great game systems (wii and Xbox) and plenty of gamers for each. The systems are nicely organized so getting them connected is a breeze.
Place is about 20 minutes from downtown Lancaster with plenty to do and see wihin 30 minute drive. Terrific responses from Julie every step of the way.
I highly recommend White Oak Cottage.
Cute house in the countryside
We had an enjoyable weekend away. The house had plenty of space for 4 adults and a baby. The downstairs games area is a nice addition. The views are lovely and the house had everything we needed. Nice location for visiting local towns.
We enjoy our stay in this cottage, it was very relaxing. The area was peaceful not too far from everything. I would highly recommend it.
My sister and I had visited "Amish Country" in the past and wanted to see it again. White Oak Cottage worked well for us. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the horses and buggies go by as the drivers went about their daily business. Unfortunately, we had fairly wet weather for most of our stay and the leaves were not colorful this year. The kitchen was pretty dark but since we did zero cooking while at the cottage, it really didn't matter much. There were several "oddities" about the cottage and I think they expected more from us regarding laundry duties than we wanted to undertake. After all, we were on vacation. Anyway, other than that, all went well.
We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us, and the peacefulness of our Amish community. We were able to replace the burned out light bulbs to brighten up the kitchen, Also wanted to thank you for helping to throw a load of towels in the washer on you way out , it's always a big help in getting house ready for next guests coming in, as well as taking linens off beds used. Since we are not a hotel, and have an entire house to clean and sanitize takes quite a few hours and every little bit helps. Thanks again for staying with us , we so appreciate your businesss and hope to have you again on a return visit. Many Blessings to you and your sister.
We loved the white cottage! Only problem is we wanted more time there. Very clean and close to lots of places and things to see and do. Definitely want to come back to this place. Owners were quite helpful in providing information, etc...
great place to stay
We usually stay in this area, about every two years, this was our favorite place to stay
You can set on the front porch and watch the farmers plow the fields, watch the horse and buggies go by, or set on the back patio and watch the farmers in that field.
Keep and eye out for the amish kids next door, they will be hiding behind the trees, watching you, smiling and waving
inside the house was great, it appears to just had a recent remodel, great paint job and furnishings
Thank you Julie for letting us stay there
