Forested home with spring fed pond, near the Smith River
About Amy Owen
An east coast transplant, Northern California has been my home for the last 30 years. I play in Gasquet when I have the time. I am a pond enthusiast, dog owner and lover of sunshine. I work in nearby Humboldt County in nursing and was a medical social worker for years.
Amy Owen purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Amy Owen chose Gasquet
Gasquet is comparable to none for it's pristine natural setting. The home is full of natural light, mountain views, and clean.
What makes this Cottage unique
There are natural springs winding through the property, forest for miles behind the house, and a pond on this property. Settled nicely into the mountainside, completely private, room to roam. The property is unique and in keeping with the "wild rivers" theme of the Northcoast.

A beautiful escape
I was planning a trip for my whole family of 6 adults and 3 children. I knew I wanted to escape the city (drove all the way from Las vegas), and give my family an adventure they would always remember. That is exactly what I got from Hidden Springs. We got back to nature, and got to experiance what we are missing in the city. It was amazing to be able to sit on the patio and watch the sun rise while smelling the clean pine air. Thank you to Hidden Springs.
Location was nice and peaceful.
lovely setting, cozy lived in feeling. it was just what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend to a friend and/or book again.
We loved this house!
We got there late at night and it was just like coming home. The house was clean and comfortable. It is in a beautiful setting right in the middle of the forest. We all loved it!
Very simple and very clean. Everything we needed to have a great time with our kids among the Giants!!!
The house was real nice to stay in, we wished it did have air conditioning though. Very nice & quite, beautiful location.
This home is located in the heart of the Six Rivers National Recreation Area. The Smith River is reported to be one of the cleanest rivers in the world. It is the last in-dammed river in California. It's crystal clear waters are heaven for swimmers in the summer months. Fishermen can catch trout and salmon, and hikers will be amazed by river views and pristine rural forests. This was gold rush country 100 years ago and many of the original trails have been preserved in national forests and state parks, which boast the worlds tallest Redwood trees. Truly an awe inspiring place for relaxation, peaceful family retreats, and nature based adventures. Surf the gentle waves of the north coast, hike in the redwoods, swim in one of the worlds cleanest rivers, or just soak up some Gasquet sun.
