The property is gated and provides the convenience of a reserved parking space for your car. The community salt water lap pool includes two whirlpools, changing rooms and space to relax surrounded by immaculately groomed grounds with an abundance of fragrant island foliage. For your convenience, access to an onsite 24-hour fitness center and business center is also included in your rental.

This course is literally carved from the lava flow. You are also within walking distance of the Waikoloa Kings’ Course designed by British Open Champion Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish.

Barry and Diane have been married for 38 years, and currently reside in the Chicagoland area. Barry is retired and Diane is an employed physician. They have one daughter, who is also a physician, and three grandchildren. They have been vacationing in Hawaii for nearly 20 years, and have decided that the Big Island is their favorite.

The property itself is beautiful, well kept, and very tropical. The pool is wonderful, kept pristine, and a gathering point for owners and renters. The Board of Directors has worked hard to not only maintain the property, but retain a community feel and pride of ownership. Owners actually know each other. There is an aloha spirit, in which everyone is ready to help each other out. The location is superb, resting between the properties of the Hilton and Marriott with all of their amenities, beautiful landscaping and endless views. The beach is one of the most picturesque in Hawaii, framed between historic fish pounds and a strip of beach, with all the ocean sports you could want. There are fantastic restaurants within walking distance, and even free entertainment at the Kings’ and Queens’ shops. Even the farmer’s market comes to you, being located in the Kings’ Shops each Wednesday! Shopping for groceries completes the picture, and the place is ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to mess with car rental or driving. For those who wish to explore the island, proximity to the hotels and nearby tour operators offers easy access to everything from touring a macadamia nut factory, to ascending the tallest mountain in the world (Mauna Kea) to seeing an active volcano.
Another aspect is the construction of the buildings, which were built to Japanese earthquake-proof standards, including solid concrete construction, which also makes the unit very quiet.
This holiday season was our second spent at Property 487000. It did not disappoint. We hated to leave and will probably return. Everything one might need for a peaceful vacation is there.
This condo in the Vista Waikoloa property is spacious, and filled with light. The rooms are large, and there's everything needed to make your vacation complete. The property is beautifully landscaped, close to shopping and restaurants, and a beach. The pool on the property is very nice.
The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed. The adjoining bathroom has a very large bathroom with both a shower and a tub. The living room has beautiful furniture, and there is an extra-large lanai.
When looking at places to stay, we decided on this place because the description was, "ocean view." Well, you can barely see it, so that was a disappointment for us. I know Hawaii is humid, but the bathroom towels were mildewy, and there was visible mold in the shower. The kitchen rug should have been cleaned, and we killed 6 cockroaches.
There are instructions to start the laundry linens the morning before you leave, and if you don't take the dishes out of the dishwasher, there is an extra cleaning fee. That explains why the dishes in the cupboard all had crud on them. When getting ready to catch a plane, the last thing you want to think about is housework. We didn't mind scraping the shower down each time, or going shoeless in the house, but those rules seemed a bit much.
To celebrate my wife’s 80th birthday, we decided to visit the Big Island Hawaii for two weeks in November/December, 2015. We weren’t sure there would be enough to do on one island for two weeks, but we were wrong: we had a marvelous time. The experience was immeasurably enhanced by the condo we rented in Waikoloa, which is well situated between Kona to the south and many interesting attractions and beaches to the north. In addition, there are several good restaurants and grocery-shopping opportunities within walking or short driving distance. As to the unit itself: first-class! The owners did not skimp on amenities and furnishings. The master bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen provided everything we needed to prepare meals when we were not eating out. The open dining and living room area was comfortable and spacious and the large screen TV was much appreciated. As a techno-klutz I had a bit of trouble at first setting up the reception, but the owner’s repairman was there very quickly to solve the problem. At breakfast it was a pleasure to sit out on the large balcony, listen to the birds, and watch the palms swaying against the background of the ocean. Beach chairs, towels and snorkeling equipment were also provided.
We would not hesitate to recommend this unit to our friends.
This was our first trip to Hawaii and we loved everything about it! The 2 bedrooms were perfect for us -- a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. MUCH BETTER than staying at the Marriott or Hilton -- a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, washing machine, dryer (used for the beach towels every night), huge lanai and so much space! It's a 15 minute walk from the condo to a sandy beach. You start with about a 5 minute walk to the ocean (perfect to see the sunset) then turn left and walk 10 minutes on a nice path along the ocean to the sandy part of the beach by the Marriott. The parking spot for our rental car was convenient and it's a great location as a home base to explore the island by car. There were 4 comfy beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler that we used daily. Highly recommend!
We rent vacation rentals at LEAST 4-5 times a year and own a vacation rental of our own. I have never left a bad review, but we did not have a good experience with this place. The place was nice enough....though beware about booking the unit with 4 adults. The twin size beds in the 2nd bedroom are just regular length (as opposed to extra long twins) and if you're average or tall height, as we are, they are uncomfortably short. Also, the one whole wall of the 2nd bedroom is a set of sliding louvered doors, so it's loud and there isn't much privacy.
We were trying to make a last minute reservation and agents were very slow to respond to SOME (not all) of the emails I sent in an effort to agree on a price and get a firm quote. After a rate had finally been agreed upon and I filled out the online reservation form, they raised the rates. It was Christmas season and last minute, so at that point we were stuck and actually paid the higher rate.
We spent the month of December housesitting in Hilo and reserved this unit so we could spend some time on the dry side of the island. When we left the condo, there was a miscommunication between hubby and I about what beach stuff we brought from the Hilo house and what stuff we borrowed from this unit. We contacted management shortly after we checked out to confess and ask what we should do about returning it before we headed back to Hilo later that day. After several hours we had not had any answer to our emails or texts, so we dropped the gear off at the management office on site and then got chastised for doing so.
The worst part though was that I got hurt when I sat in a barstool that totally collapsed (I am not a large woman) out from under me. Turns out the legs on both barstools were no longer attached to the seats in any way and had just been propped or snapped together as if someone was half done with a repair project. The condo management later said in an email they knew the chairs broken and admitted it they were supposed to have been taken out of the unit but no one had followed up to make sure they were.
We are headed back to Waikoloa in December, but will skip this place and stay somewhere where the management cares about the experience and not just the check.
This was our first stay at this condo and we loved it. We have stayed in other condos near this area but this was by far the best one. The condo is nicely and comfortably furnished and very clean. The bed was super comfortable. It has all the extras you need like beach equipment, wi-Fi and a very nice and large smart TV . We especially enjoyed the salt swim pool. The overall quality and condition of the condo was well above average for this area. We would definitely like to come back again. We found the owners easy to contact and very accommodating to deal with.
Walk to beach, gourmet grocery, Starbucks, restaurants & shopping. Nearby Petroglyph fields—the trail starts at the shopping center and goes through the golf courses, swim with the manta rays in Kona, helicopter excursions, swim with the dolphins at the Hilton, zip-lining near Hilo, coffee & macadamia plantations, active volcano, lava tubes, deep sea fishing, whale watching, submarine excursions, star-gazing at Mauna Kea summit, orchid gardens.
