The village Sfinari, is a small and traditional village, with view all the gulf of Sfinari. The exceptional sunset, placed in the Western side of the island, is one of the most magical sunsets that you could ever enjoy.
The landscape will remain unforgettable to you, the residents, with the well known Cretan hospitality; they will make you feel like home. The place is ideal for those who enjoy virgin nature and like to have quiet family vacations.
The luxury in your feet.
All villas have breathtaking view to the gulf and the amazing sunset.
A perfect choice for relaxation and family vacation.
The area is simple one of the best in the west Crete, all best beaches are form the west side of the island so you have quick access to them. As for the location itself, is a small traditional village, quiet and away from busy touristic places.
Privacy, traditional Cretan village and fantastic sea views
We spent two relaxing weeks in August in Villa Antonia. We appreciated the warm welcome (wine, a delicious Moussaka, fruits, vegetables, juice, feta ... even flowers on the table) and felt easily at home. The house is fully equipped (incl. sharp knives for cooking), the whole property is well kept and clean. Our 8-year-old daughter loved the pool, she spent hours in it ... We also liked the privacy of Villa Antonia. The photos don't promise too much, it is a lovely place! And George from the agency, as well as Vassili, the owner, are very kind and helpful - thank you, guys!
Within max. 60 min drive, you can reach some beautiful beaches. Balos is a must (go there by car, the view is spectacular!), Elafonisi is very beautiful, too. Both are perfect for children. Falasarna is the closest sand beach, but it can be quite windy and wavy from time to time. We used to go to the beaches in the morning until the early afternoon; like this you can easily get chairs and it is not too crowded despite high season. If you need any tips where to go or what to do, have a look at the agency's website, they provide some helpful information.
We enjoyed the mix of beaches, pool and good restaurants (especially Sunset Beach Restaurant in Sfinari, Gramvousa Restaurant on the way to Balos and the Fish Taverna on the left at the sports harbour in Kissamos).
So if you look for a beautiful place away from mass tourism, if you are not keen on sightseeing and shopping, if you don't mind curvy mountain roads and to wake up in the morning by sheep, cocks, dogs and cicadas, we can strongly recommend Villa Antonia for a relaxing and sunny summer holiday!
October to May the price is 160 Euro per day for two persons. Contact us for more information.
We have greatly enjoyed our stay in Sfinari. We were received with great hospitality from Vasilis - they even had some food ready for us after our long trip! The house itself is beautiful, very spacious and clean, with a good sea view. It is located in a quiet / remote area - so it requires some driving and a rental car. The only real drawback was the WiFi which did not allow for streaming - but overall we would definitely recommend staying here. Elafonisi beach, Chania city and ancient Aptera were definitely highlights in the area.
Our stay in Villa Antonia was enjoyable. Even our 15 years old youngsters were satisfied. We hope to visit again. Regards, Family Ahola
Everything was just like we would have wanted it to be! Starting with the helpful contact and easy booking procedure to the support during our stay: it was just perfect!
The house is simply beautiful in its architecture and equipment. Everything looked rather new-ish and was clean and practical. The setting of the house towards the sea on a hillside is stunning and the sunsets even in October, when the sun sets behind the mountains and colours the sea and the sky orange are breathtaking. There is another rather similar house just below the level of the swimming pool, still the setting guarantees everybody's privacy.
Sfinari is a small village where there are hardly any tourists, which gives you a chance to have a chat with the lovely, friendly people living there. There are two mini-markets just down by the small street (hardly any traffic) and a few tavernas.
The beach in Sfinari lies in a nook at the foot of the mountain. As it has pebbles of different sizes, you'd better bring some swimshoes. If you want a sandy beach with some good waves, drive to Falasarna. It takes you around 15-20 minutes via the serpentines to get there, but it is worth it. In October it was not crowded, and the water was still warm and crystal clear.
In Sfinari, down by the sea directly on the beach, there are three tavernas. You can easily walk there - but you should bring a torch, as it will be pitchblack in autumn in the evenings. We loved Captain Fidias and his family and team! If you want fresh fish which is deliciously grilled and typical Greek appetizers as well as homemade Raki, you have to go there! Apparently, they are family with the house owner, and treated us just like extended family.
All in all, we are 100% happy with the vacation we had in Villa Antonia!
Magnifique maison avec une superbe piscine, dans un village tranquille avec des tavernes sur la plage.
Excellente place pour se reposer avec un accueil des propriétaires fort agréable.
Sfinari village, in Kissamos, is situated 57 km south-west from the centre of Chania. The Sfinari’s settlement embraces the homonym cove. The village is built on the feet of Koytroyli’s mountain and is extended to the beach.
Quiet is one of the basic advantages of this untouched place. Ideal for family vacations, far away from the noise and the crowd.
The local population, with 150 permanent residents, deals with the olive growing, the livestock-farming, the fishing, the apiculture and during summer, with tourism. That’s why all the traditional food is made with the best local products and tastes so good.
In the village you will find:
* 2 mini markets
* 2 taverns and 3 taverns with fish
* 2 cafes
In the town of Kissamos, that is 16 km from Sfinari village, you can find the following:
1. Health centre
2. 6 banks and ATM
3. 5 big super markets
