Majestic Long Range Views from High Above Blue Valley

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,750 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This three bedroom, two bath cabin-style home is in a great location between Dillard, Georgia and Highlands, North Carolina. Only 15 minutes from either town, this vacation home is also just five minutes from Sky Valley Golf Resort.

Perched on two acres, at a cool comfortable 3900 foot elevation, above beautiful Blue Valley. (ELEVATION is the key to being comfortable in the mountains in the summer.) The cabin features breathtaking 150° long range views and spectacular sunrises. Weather permitting, the lights of Greenville, South Carolina, some 80 miles away, can be seen at night. You won't have to hike or drive to a spectacular view - it's right there on your deck.

The fully-equipped home is designed to sleep six in comfort. Great views from every room in the house. Plenty of windows and French doors keep the house light and airy. Natural oak floors, maple cabinetry, pine ceilings and trim give it a warm cabin feel. We think you will be very pleased with the furnishings and decor. No Smoking Inside, No pets allowed.

We have been visiting the mountains every chance we had for five or six years, renting homes, cabins and motels. This house was built, located and equipped with those experiences in mind. Our goal is that all of our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable vacation.

Why Lloyd or Holly Hepler chose North Georgia Mountains

If you live in the Southeast this is simply one of the easiest to get to high elevation areas in the mountains. Not only is it the closest but it has the added benefit of being one of the nicest areas in the mountains. Anything that you would find in the mountains you can find right here. The exception being if you want to go snow skiing I would not look at anything south of Maggie Valley. My wife and I looked for over two years for a location and we always came back to this area. It was the standard and it couldn't be beat. It simply offered the most bang for the buck which makes it a great bargain for you in the area.

Beautiful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We were here for a week and enjoyed every day. The cabin has a great view of the mountains and the cabin itself lacks for nothing. It is clean and well kept. It is close to many waterfalls and hiking trails. Or you can just stay at the cabin and enjoy the views and the solitude. You are in Georgia but very close to North Carolina. And on one of our day trips we even were in South Carolina.

Wonderful Place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our weekend here very much. The home is beautiful. Love all the nice decorations the furniture and attention to detail throughout the house. The great view from inside and on both porches was simply delightful. So peaceful sitting on the porch taking in the view and watching the birds on the feeder was very relaxing. The home was perfectly clean. Couldn't have asked for anything more! This place exceeded our expectations. Thank you Lloyd and Holly for sharing your home with us. Look forward to our next trip. Ron & Jacki B.

Great Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

My family recently spent one week in this house; their immediate reaction after seeing it was "wow, you picked a nice place." (I think my kids were expecting a barren, dusty, rustic cabin with mice scurrying around. Lloyd's house is anything but.) As others have noted, the house is very comfortable, very clean, and very much near hiking trails (e.g., Rabun Bald and Scaly Mountain), and the view is terrific (especially at sunrise). And it is very quiet: coming from the city, it was almost disconcertingly quiet. It had everything we needed, and we were indeed sorry to leave it at the end of the week. (As a final note: Lloyd acts very much in a professional manner; the whole rental process was easy, with no surprises.) If we are in the Highlands area again, we would definitely stay in this house.

Nice Surprise

  • 5 of 5

Doing vacation rentals always creates a certain amount of anxiety -- this trip was no different. Once again it was a wonderful experience. Trying to google and determine what the rental would be like will not be the best approach. Lloyd's rental was a total surprise even after all my research. We loved the location and the view. The cabin was very well set up. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need -- this is unusual. The views even from the kitchen area were great. Don't be afraid of this unit!

If you are looking for a hot-tub and firepit - this might not be for you. It was perfect for us. My grand daughter loved going down to the back yard looking for "gems".

We loved our hikes on the Bertram Trail and to Rabun Bald. We loved being able to get to Highlands so readily -- the drive was beautiful. I guess you would have to say we loved everything.

The weather was great and the leaves were perfect. I really could not have asked for more.

We will be back!
