The apartment is situated in a small, secure, apartment building, set back slightly from the road and accessed via a walkway and through an outer security door with entryphone.
The apartment has an entrance hall, off which are 2 bedrooms (one double & one twin) and a bathroom with bath and shower over.
A short flight of stairs leads to a very comfortable sitting room with dining area. This room enjoys unobstructed views of the well kept communal gardens. Off the sitting room is a fully equipped galley kitchen with electric stove, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine etc.

The apartment is very comfortable and extremely well provided with extras like basic cooking items,local maps and umbrellas! The 2 bedrooms downstairs are small but with good quality beds and linen. The living room upstairs has comfy sofa and chairs, good wifi connection and dining table overlooking the shared garden. The flat is an easy 10 minute walk to the East Putney tube station and also Putney overground train. The tube is on the District line and very convenient to Kensington museums as well as Hampton Court, Wimbledon and Kew Gardens. There are nice walks along the Thames path to Hammersmith. Putney has lots of places to eat- Carluccios at Putney Wharf and Vera Italia near Carlton drive were both good. Booking the flat was easy and efficient and both the owner and local contact were very helpful. A very nice base for our week in London!
We booked for 5 nights in July. Location was ideal with the bonus of a small parking spot. The flat's living quarters were spacious, complete with wildlife viewing in the huge community back garden. The kitchen was well equipped, except we would have opted for a dishwasher rather than a clothes washer. The only thing that let the rental down, was the lack of cleanliness. The whole apartment was in need of a deep clean, especially with the lack of ventilation on the ground floor (bathroom & bedrooms).
The booking process with the owner was very good and efficient, and the reception contact worked well.
There were four of us staying in the apartment. The bedrooms are not large, but big enough, and have some closet space. Everything was clean. The kitchen was well equipped, even some little extras like spices, some paper towels, plenty of cutlery, dishes, and pans to cook with if you wanted. One highlight is the lovely view from the dining table of the garden, we sat there watching the squirrels, parrots, and spotted a fox one night. The East Putney tube station is a five to ten minute walk and the Putney rail is even more convenient. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It was very convenient to have a place to park the car so close to central London. We would stay here again.
My family of four enjoyed nine days at this Putney apartment in April 2016 while visiting relatives.
The apartment was fully self contained and very comfortable with plenty of open space so we were not on top of each other like is often the case with London accommodation.
We had exceptional weather and the large rear windows provided a great setting to the enormous garden that was flowering in the spring weather.
A short walk to both Tube and rail lines it was easy to get about London.
We'll be back next UK trip.
Our parents stayed in Joanna's apartment for 2 weeks during their last visit and they absolutely enjoyed it! The highlight of the apartment is the dining area with a beautiful view overlooking the garden. My dad enjoyed having his breakfast while looking at the squirrels in the garden. Joanna is very warm and welcoming, always helpful. The apartment is clean and great location, easy access to East Putney station but also very quiet for a good night sleep. Strongly recommended!
This is a wonderful apartment right in the heart of Putney. It has great transport links being a 5 minute walk from main line Putney rail station into Waterloo and 5 minutes in the other direction from East Putney underground station (on the District line); there are local buses at the end of the street and the river bus RB 6 to Embankment and Blackfriars is only a 10 minute stroll away. You certainly don't need a car - but if you have one, there is a parking space available. Nearby there is a wide choice of supermarkets, lovely restaurants and several parks. The apartment itself is fully equipped and clean and the local representative was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends. We had a fabulous mini break and are already looking forward to a return visit.
Our travel highlight for the last three years has been visiting our London based daughter and staying at Joanna's Putney apartment. Each year we have looked forward to spending our time in the apartment with its wonderful views of the garden and perfect amenities and location.
Sadly this year circumstances have meant us cancelling our booking for June. We will greatly miss the Putney visit.
Putney is a very old part of London, approximately 5 miles south west from the heart of London's West End, Theatre district and Soho, on the south bank of the River Thames. It is a largely residential area with a bustling High Street, supermarkets, cinema, live music venues and many traditional pubs.
The apartment is a 10 minute walk to unspoiled Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common for walks, picnics and all outdoor activities. It is ideally situated for public transportation:
- 5 minute walk to East Putney tube station with fast access to Central London.
- 5 minute walk to Putney rail station with direct services to Waterloo and services out of London to Hampton Court Palace, Ascot, Windsor etc.
- Numerous bus services nearby.
- 10 minute walk to Putney Bridge and Thames Clipper services to Chelsea, Embankment and Blackfriars and beyond to Canary Wharf and Greenwich.
