About Michael Lamb
Transplanted Yankees from Ohio, where Joanna and I graduated from Ohio State (Go Bucks!), we moved our Family to Georgia in the early 1980's and never left. We are all Dawgs now, as Michael is an administrator and teacher with Georgia's Technical College System who earned his graduate degree from the University of Georgia. Joanna is a retired research scientist and an avid vegetable gardener. We live nearby in Midland, Georgia near Columbus on the 3 acres Joanna has always wanted for her gardens.
Michael Lamb purchased this Chalet in 2002
Why Michael Lamb chose Warm Springs
We bought this property after moving to the area and renting another unit in the small neighborhood of A-frames and Chalets. It was within a short commute of work, and when our current chalet was remodeled, we bought it and it was our primary residence for several years. We loved living there full time and love going back frequently just to relax and enjoy the mountain.
What makes this Chalet unique
Our chalet has three levels, an open floor plan with a high ceiling on the main floor and lots of light. It is cozy and has a wonderful deck overlooking the forest. A huge stone fireplace in the lower level is original and available to guests from October to March. We love the peace and quiet, the fresh air, and the pure mountain water that you will want to use to fill your bottled water empties!

Moutain Hideaway is Amazing
A perfect retreat for privacy yet close to attractions.
The cabin decor is amazing and calms your nerves as
much as the magnificent scenery. The owners do a great
job of stocking you with paper products and water so you don't
have to hit the grocery store right off. We had to text them to find the air mattress, and even though late at night, they responded right back. Very caring people that want to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Absolutely wonderful cabin for some family bonding! Thinking about booking again for the holidays. Just that awesome!
The house has a great set up with lots of games and books accessible to the guests. The house is out in the woods and this creates opportunities for more bugs than normal in the house. We enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful cottage in the woods!
The three of us loved the house. It’s very comfortable, and Michael, the host, could not have been more gracious. It served us well as a base camp for prowling around Warm Springs and Callaway Gardens. If Our travels bring us back this way, we’ll definitely try to stay here again.
Beautiful views and location!
A very comfortable home that has everything necessary to accommodate us. The location was amazing and very quiet. The location was great because it was right in between the towns of Pine Mountain and Warm Springs. Parking is a little tight with larger vehicles. If we didn't have a smaller car for the three cars we wouldn't have fit in. Wi-Fi and phone service goes in and out. But that keeps it more a more personal experience as your family will have to interact with each other! There are plenty of games and books to keep you occupied while sitting on the deck with a beautiful view. All in all, it was a lovely stay and a great experience in a comfortable setting that you just don't get in a hotel.
'The Mountain House' is located on the top of Pine Mountain, halfway between the towns of Warm Springs, Georgia and Pine Mountain, Georgia. It is adjacent to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) State Park and within walking distance of the Pine Mountain Trail. Our chalet is only fourteen minutes from Callaway Gardens Resort, a beautiful 2,500 acre nature preserve with a wide range of attractions including picnic areas, white sand beaches, hiking/biking trails, golf courses, and spring-fed lakes with fly fishing. Callaway also features a world-class Horticultural Center as well as the Butterfly Center, Wild Birds of Prey exhibition, and a wide variety of seasonal events. We are also located 20 minutes from the popular attractions of Wild Animal Sarfari and Butts Mill Farm, as well as the historic Roosevelt Little White House museum and grounds. For those wishing to travel a bit further, a new and very popular whitewater rafting course is located 40 minutes south, along the Chatahoochee River in Columbus, GA.
But most of all, the Mountain House offers peace and quiet, with mountain air in a relaxing and beautiful setting.
