Overlooking the harbour on the south facing Scilly peninsula Pisces apartment is just five minutes walk away from the town centre with its wonderful restaurants, art galleries and shops. The large sandy beach of Garrettstown is a fifteen minute drive away. The accommodation is a delightful self catering apartment offering stunning views of Kinsale town, marina and historic James Fort and has been rated four star by the Irish Tourist Board. Finished to a very high standard with antique pieces and original oil paintings there are two en suite bedrooms (one double, one twin) and open plan kitchen, dining, sitting area. There is also a balcony overlooking the yachting marina.
The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable for four people, with great views over the harbour. Scilly is a lovely quiet area of Kinsale and it is only a ten minute walk into the town. There are some excellent shops and restaurants and plenty of lively pubs with Trad music most evenings.
From the lounge window and balcony guests can look out over Irene's attractive garden and enjoy the view. We were lucky to get some lovely weather and enjoyed watching changes to the water and sky. It is a bonus to have a car parking space.
Irene is a generous, cosiderate and helpful host and can offer advice on the best places to visit, shop and eat.
This unit is the perfect home away from home. The apartment is nicely furnished and very comfortable and the view is truly wonderful.
The owner Irene is an angel! Having caught a cold during our stay; she called her Doctor Katie O'Connell and I was sitting in her office within 2 hours. That does not happen at home!
It was very nice being eagerly greeted by Sally and Clara when we came home.
It was great to have a choice of restaurants so close to the apartment. We made many wonderful friends at the Spaniard Pub; especially Steven and taxi driver, Connie; and the staff; Pat, Ian, James, JC and Sarah.
We will definitely be back. Thank You again Irene, you made our visit the best!
This charming apartment is a treasure. It is exactly as the photos depict. The apartment is well- appointed and comfortable, and the best feature is the picture window offering a stunning view of Kinsale Harbor. It is an easy walk into the village but if you don't feel like going anywhere the pub across the street, the Spaniard, offers a cozy pub atmosphere and delicious food. From the apartment you can take a long walk along the water's edge through Summercove and out to the Charles Fort. Best of all was our gracious hostess, Irene Jones.
I normally stay in town but always wanted to be up in Scilly. You can not ask for a better location and the views from the living room are priceless. It is a very peaceful and quiet area even with the Spaniard next door. The location makes it ideal if you want to head into Kinsale or out to Summercove and the Bulman. Two nice size and comfortable bedrooms and a very useful kitchen with a washing machine. Irene was a very nice host and provided us a parking spot right in front of the house which came in handy. This is now my first choice whenever I get back to Kinsale.
The sun is glistening on the harbor and streaming through the large windows overlooking the harbor and marina as I write this review on our next to last day here. It has been a delightful vacation. Pat and Irene are great hosts providing invaluable local information, as well as other information and travel tips about Ireland. The apartment is comfortable and well fitted out. It's a great "home away from home". I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. There is only one downside - the pub across the street can be a bit noisy on weekends during warm weather. But hey - join in!! It's a great pub.
Kinsale in County Cork is one of the most picturesque, popular and fashionable resorts of the south west coast of Ireland. The town nestles between the hills and the shoreline, a maze of narrow streets, never far from the water and little changed in many hundreds of years. There are three pubs and three restaurants on our doorstep. Kinsale town with its many gourmet restaurants shops and art galleries is a five minute walk away. Nearby leisure facilities include three golf courses (including the spectacular Old Head Course)., sailing, fishing and horse riding.
