About Yvonne & Boyd Fleming
My husband and I built this home ourselves as a summer cottage with our children who at the time were very young and they loved to help. Our cottage has a lot of beautiful memories for us. I wanted to be close to my family so my parents would have the opportunity to see my children grow and for them to know what it's like to grow up in a small community. This land that the cottage sits on has been passed down from generation to generation and has been in my family since the late 1800's. We used this land when I was growing up for hay for our horses.
What makes this Cottage unique
The highlight of this cottage is the view as it's like no other. To be able to watch whales, puffins and other wildlife from the living room or private patio is certainly an added bonus.

Home away from home
We enjoyed the cottage. The view was outstanding. It has everything you need and is very comfortable. The owner dropped by for a visit and that was great. Would come back!!
I'm so glad you both enjoyed your stay at the cottage. It was great to have the opportunity to meet you both Have a great summer!
Great place to stay on the Avalon Peninsula
What a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful place. We enyoied every hour we spent in this cozy and spazious home away from home. The view is indeed spectacular - even on a grey foggy day. On sunny days it'sbeautiful to stay outide on the wooden terrace observing the birds and the sheep on the Island.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. It's always great to get reviews so other people who may want to rent the cottage will know that you had a great experience.
I couldn't imagine a more perfect location for our stay! My husband and I were travelling for our anniversary and this cottage was just what we were looking for. It was very convenient having the dishwasher and washer/dryer but all the feel of a cozy, traditional cottage. The view is amazing, I'm sure we spent half our time on the deck. Beautiful spot, the pictures don't do it justice!
We are so glad that you both enjoyed your stay at the cottage. The view is truly breathtaking and the private deck is a great place to sit out, have a cup of coffee and watch the whales in the bay or sip some drinks while waiting for your barbeque.
Thank you for writing a review. It's important to us to know that people who rent the cottage have a great vacation. Have a wonderful summer.

This cottage has the most beautiful view you will ever find! The view is visible through the windows in the living area of the cottage or on the deck. The colour of the light changes daily and sometimes hourly. We saw whales cavorting in the cove and sometimes heard them breathing. The cottage is impeccably clean and has everything you will need. I just wanted to stay there and stare at the view, but we did go out and visit a number of sights in the area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Make this your vacation property. You will not regret it!
Thank you so much for your review. I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and you saw the whales in the bay. I like it when the whales are close and you can hear them blow, it's a neat sound. It really is a great view. Thanks again. Enjoy your fall. I hope to see you again.
Lovely views.. watched the Whales from the deck. Neghbours were very friendly and good company, thanks Ron Bernice and Gary for your hospitality. All the best from Lana, Marcus, Barry and Lyn
Located just 40 kilometres south of St. John's on Route 10 in a picturesque community of Burnt Cove just minutes outside of Tors Cove. The area offers a scenic drive along the Irish Loop and is close to many Tour Boat Operations. The property fronts on part of the East Coast Trail. Hiking to abandoned community of LaManche where there is a suspension bridge. This village was destroyed by a tidal wave back in the 1960's and people were forced to re-settle. This hike takes about 1.5 hours (approximately 5 kilometres). Don't forget to take a short detour to Doctor's Cove. If you're looking for some traditional Newfoundland food the renowned Captain's Table in Mobile is your place. Try out their fish & chips or delicious fish cakes. Ocean View Bakery is just a short walk away where you can enjoy homemade fresh breads and an assortment of cookies. LaManche Provincial Park is only 15 minutes away and offers day use with a swimming area. Try taking the hike to LaManche Falls and go for a dip. Visit St. Michael's Catholic Church which is over a hundred years old and is only a five minute walk from the cottage. If it's gifts or souvenirs you're looking for be sure to go to Alderberry Blum which is located in Bay Bulls. If you like history, the place to go is Ferryland, Colony of the Avalon which is located about 25 minutes from the cottage where there is an archaelogical dig, interpretation centre, gift shop with tradional Newfoundland gifts and a display of the finds. While you're there take a short walk out to Ferryland Head Lighthouse and enjoy a picnic overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Also, in this area during the summer months they have a dinner theatre with local talent. Be sure to make reservations.
