Bella Vista is a stylish house, with excellent facilities and wonderful sea-views -a lovely garden with decking. It is situated at the top of Burlington Chine, overlooking the nicest beach in Swanage.
With seven bedrooms sleeping up to sixteen people, twenty including children, it can accommodate most families or groups of friends. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms,a ground floor shower and toilet, Digital LCD TVs and iPod docks, many have sea-views and king-size beds. We have parking for all rooms and wireless internet access.
Other facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, two lounges, downstairs shower and toilet and garden overlooking the sea. There is a laundry area and room to store bikes and outdoor clothing.
We all loved the house, so beautifully appointed (no fighting over bathrooms and everything you could wish for was provided), in particular the wonderful location - we spent many a mealtime and other times sitting on the decking looking at the fantastic view of Swanage Bay. Add to that the best week of the year so far weather-wise, it was a family holiday par excellence!
We stayed for 2 nights as a group of 13. Plenty of space for eveyone to relax and enjoy the perfect location. All facilities were clean and in good order. The kitchen was complete with every possible requirement covered.
Very friendly and helpful owners who made our weekend Birthday/Family reunion an occasion to remember.
The only minus point was that our stay was too short!! Would certainly have liked to stay longer.
Please consider using the caterer (Karla Cherry) she was first class. All we had to do was carry the food to the table and return the empty plates. No mess, no fuss, no work!
I have just returned from a weeks stay at Bella Vista. We travelled as four families, 14 people and loved the fact that all seven rooms had a shower and toilet.
There is a great sense of space at this property.
Deirdre the owner of the property was excellent at staying in contact with me and answering my emails. We went at Christmas and she left us a 10ft Christmas tree and food hamper with champagne. (Thank-you a lovely touch)
I have listed the positives:
1. The large dining room for everyone to sit together, with a large drinks fridge.
2. Well equipped kitchen. We ordered a sainsburys shop for £ 700 as it was Christmas. The fridges and freezers coped well, with lots of spare room.
When cooking meals there is a large warmer this was used at every mealtime. You don't have to worry about timings of food, which was fab when cooking for 14.
The dish washer cycle is 25 minutes (great for 14+ people) and it gets everything really clean. It must be industrial! I hate going to a rented property and feeling the plates, cutlery are dirty, this is not the case here everything is clean.
3. Washer and tumble dryers were fast and easy to use.
4. We mostly stayed in the main lounge together. But it was great to have the extra lounge for our teenagers. We took our own play station for them.
The location of the property is good it takes one minute to walk to the beach and a further 15 minutes to walk along the beach prominard to Swanage. This is a lovely walk with cafes and restaurants on route.
If you walk in the other direction you can join the costal path to Handfast Point and view Old Harry Rocks. This also gives you breath taking views of Poole and Bournmouth.
We went ice skating in Bournmouth on Christmas Eve, this was a lovely thing to do if your booking at Christmas.
We also visited Weymouth for the day, it takes around 45 minutes in a car. We caught 30 crabs in 30 minutes! good restaurants here and shopping.
Swanage itself has a
Pier, cinema, crazy golf, amusements and boat rides. The town has many shops, cafes and pubs. I would recommend the fish and chip shop on the sea-front near the pier, finalists for 2016 and the food was delicious.
1. The bathrooms are small. But it didn't really bother us.
Lastly, five minutes from the property is The Crows Nest pub. Great atmosphere, really friendly and good pub food.
I would recommend this property and we will definitely book it again.
I'm almost loathe to recommend this place as we'd like to go back but it's so good it gets booked up well in advance!
The kitchen was equipped with everything you could hope for including an industrial dishwasher.
We had a party of 16 in the house including 4 children. It's the perfect house for hide and seek...we lost the kids for at least an hour cause the house is so big! We will definitely be going back...now all we have to do is stop others from booking so that we stand a chance! ;-)
13 of us have just spent the most wonderful week at this property, we have been taking November holidays as a group for the past nine years and this property rates amongst the best. The Service we received from the owner was first class and communications were always answered promptly. The house was well laid out and contained ample supplies of very nice cutlery and crockery important for such a large group. The wine cooler in the dinning room was a very nice feature and was well used. A lot of thought has gone into this rental property and it shows it was clean and well maintained and was very cosy. The group will most certainly return at a later date, it really was a super break away. Thank you to the owners for making us so welcome at this lovely house.
