My girlfriend and I stayed here with another couple the week of July 4th, and it was the perfect spot for our time in Beulah. The house itself is very clean and charming--functional kitchen, a nice flat-screen TV, an A/C window unit, comfortable furniture and beds, and the best water pressure I've ever experienced...seriously! Just a block away from Crystal Lake, and within short walking distance to Downtown Beulah, which has several restaurant options, coffee shops, a neighborhood market that sources from local farms, and a sporting goods store where you can rent kayaks and other water-related gear. Several convenient stores are also nearby that provide anything from fishing licenses to pharmacy products (my girlfriend needed eye drops). Frankfort is a 10-15 minute drive, and is definitely worth the trip. Also within short driving distance are several wineries and some great golf courses, as well as Sleeping Bear Dunes, a very cool natural attraction! All in all, an excellent spot for your weekend (or more) getaway! Will definitely be visiting again!
We had plenty of things to see and do. Just a short walk to town and beach. Nice Saturday drive to Farmer's Market at Frankfort. The home is more like a cottage, cute and very clean. Definitely would go back.
If you're looking for a great little house very close to town, this is it. If you're looking for a great little house that also gives you a wonderful view of Crystal Lake, this is not it. We knew that, so were not disappointed; instead just appreciated being a few easy blocks from the lake. My kids rode their bikes back and forth; I felt it was easier to walk. Beulah is a quiet little town that's not far from lots of other nearby attractions. And as others have said, there are lots of great bike trails which we took advantage of. We had a lovely experience renting from Kimm. The house was clean-as-a-whistle and had everything we needed. I would recommend staying there without hesitation.
What a lovely place to stay. Flowers and fresh homemade cookies upon arrival. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is delightful. The porch provided a place for our bikes. The beds are very comfortable. The house was immaculate. Nice place to people watch. Lots of activity yet a quiet peaceful place. The town has a bike trail along the lake, tennis courts, Crystal Lake swimming, boating, restaurants, vegetable market, Cherry Hut and many other places to explore.
We totally enjoyed this cottage and everything associated with it. Kimm was as accommodating as anyone could possible be.
The location is central to all the spots we love visiting. We had my sister and brother-in-law with us as well as out two teen age granddaughters.
We could not have possible hd q more enjoyable week in the area.
We visited one place new to us, Crystal Mountain Resort and would highly recommend that for all their activities, the kids loved it.
We highly recommend everything about this vacation destination. The owners were a total pleasure to do business with starting with the initial inquiry untill our last day of our stay.
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, clean, comfortable home. We enjoyed being a short walk from the small downtown area of Beulah and Crystal Lake. The cottage was clean and we appreciated all the extras. We used this lovely cottage as a base, spending our days exploring the area, and then relaxing back "at home" in the evenings. Favorites were a dune buggy ride at Silver Lake, canoeing on the Platte River, biking in Glen Arbor, and the Dune Climb at Sleeping Bear Dunes. We fell in love with nearby Frankfort. There the all you can eat fish fry Friday night at Dinghy's was superb, as well as the pizza at Stormcloud. The weather was superb and a welcome break from the heat and humidity in Nebraska. Kimm could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely return...hopefully soon!
Perfect spot in quiet area near downtown Beulah! One row of homes away from pristine Crystal Lake, with great fishing and breathtaking sunsets. The public beach (5 minute walk) has several hundred feet of sandy shore, a beach house, tennis courts, a playground and parking. Swimming is great at the beach with its sandy bottom and safely marked swimming area. The park has a large pavilion, barbeques, picnic tables and is almost entirely shaded by majestic hardwoods. During the summer there are frequent 'Music in the Park' evening concerts offered at no charge. The boat launch is ample and well-maintained,. The launch is ideal for the launching or removal of most any size or type of watercraft. Use of the launch is free. The Betsie Valley Trail runs between Frankfort and Thompsonville, including the village of Beulah in its long stretch. Beulah has overnight lodging, shopping, restaurants and parking to accommodate the biking traveler. Watersports too numerous to mention (kayaking on Betsie or Platte Rivers, sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, pontoon boating, etc.). In winter there is downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
