Perfect, relaxing, peaceful retreat accomodating to multiple families at once

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on High Lake at Jim's home at the end of June/early July. The cottage provides great space and for our party, accomodated two separate families with children with 2 bedrooms on either side of the home, which created a nice separation and the ability to retreat to your part of the house. The inside has plenty of room and the outside where we spent most of our time was awesome with very large deck, sandy beach and dock. The lake is relaxing and very peaceful. We used the pontoon and it worked very well for our needs. Additionally, downtown Traverse City is just 7-8 miles away and an easy drive for back and forth as needed. I'd recommend this cottage to any single family or multiple families. We have a 2 year old and my in-laws had an 8 and 10 year olds. We all found it a great place to vacation. Not to mention, our landlord was extremely responsive and accomodating. Thanks Jim!

Great family get together

  • 5 of 5

Nice, clean property. The owner is great about getting back to you with questions/concerns etc.

We were here for a family get together. My children, grandchildren and parents were all there. The property provided everything we needed. The children had a blast upstairs in the bunk beds! We highly recommend this property for your vacation. The lake is small and quiet. The views are beautiful and the cottage is very comfortable. We never ran out of things to do!

Owner's Response: My cottage is on High Lake, an all-sports spring fed lake which is small but there's rarely much traffic on it. It's very peaceful. The large upstairs room with three bunk beds and a futon was built so my grandkids could sleep up there together. They love it up there. Nancy thanks for the nice review and I hope your family comes back. Sincerely, Jim S.

Really nice setup at the lake, it's only about 10-15 miles from Traverse City. The owner Jim is great to work with, he keeps the place really clean and returns calls and emails within minutes. I would recommend it for anyone

This place is fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

7 ladies travelled to Traverse for a nice relaxing bachelorette party. We're a tame group that just wanted to enjoy the lake, the sun and do some wine tasting. The house was very clean and had lots of room for all of us. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs with a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry and pool table room. There is an upstairs bunk house with 3 sets of bunk and futons. But honestly, we were outside mist of the time. The outdoor spaces include a multi-level deck with 2 firepits! The lake was so gorgeous ( I have to admit I did get some chiggers but that happens whenever there are geese) and we loved floating around in it. I have stayed at lots of rentals but have never seen a place so well stocked with paper products and necessities. The pizza place around the corner delivers and is really good. Jim was great and was available by text anytime we had questions. I would come back here and stay anytime for another girls weekend or with my kids. The neighbors were really nice. If you are loud partyers this isn't the place for you. The lake is no wake from I think 7 pm to 11 am. It was so peaceful. You have a beautiful home, Jim. Thank you for your hospitality. I'll recommend you to anyone I know travelling to the area. Megan
