About Mim Miller

We were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation. The rental suite was actually our first apartment. We have enjoyed living on the farm ever since and it was a great place to raise our 3 children, all of whom are now married.

The farm's lineage has been traced to a deed signed in 1750 and we're passionate about the family farm as an integral part of the fabric of our nation. We really see ourselves as stewards. We have such a connection to the farmland, and that in turn translates into a God connection. We value where the land came from. There's no more being created, and we value it as a treasure. We have a responsibility to it.

As a family-owned and operated business, the Miller Homestead, up until 2012, was a dairy farm. We continue to raise heifers for a neighbor and grow corn, hay, soybeans and barley.

We enjoy traveling and often stay in vacation rentals in out of the way places. Many times through the years we have hosted out of town relatives and friends in our home and love to share in their lives. When the apartment was vacated, we decided it was the right time in our lives to make it available to travelers.

The Miller Homestead is located within easy highway access to Lancaster, York, Harrisburg or Philadelphia, providing many options for day trips. Children can enjoy playing in a large yard or watching the farmer at work. The owner is a Licensed Massage Therapist for those seeking the benefits of a therapeutic massage. Please contact owner prior to arriving to check availability.

What makes this apartment unique

Quiet location yet easy access to stores and attractions. Close to bicycle and walking trails. Queen sized bed with Sleep Number air mattress. Farm pond available for 'catch and release' fishing. Hang wash on an Amish wash line. One mile farm lane available for off road walks.

We were treated like family! Loved the place :)

Clair and Mim are the sweetest people. We were welcomed in the morning and greeted on the porch.. I had knee surgery and had said I was a little sore and Mim brought me the most lovely-smelling lavender ice wrap. She gave us a little walk through in the barn by the goats (they are so cute!) and showed us the corn they were peeling. I am from the city, so all this was so interesting to me. It was nice that she took the time to show us around and help me with my knee.

Our stay was lovely. The room was cute and we used the pull out couch and the bedroom. I brought an air mattress, so we used that as well for three of us. There were a few things in the fridge for us (how thoughtful!!) and oh my gosh.. home-made soap!! There were just so many kind and thoughtful touches to this visit.

The place and room we were provided with was great for a nice little get away with a couple of my friends. It was my 40th bday and I was so glad we chose to spend it here!!! Mim and Clair are a couple of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met. We would love to stay here again!!!

Peaceful balance to Hershey attractions.

  • 5 of 5

Mim and Clair were very welcoming and friendly. They gave us great tips on things to do in the area which was very helpful. Their farm is beautiful! The kids loved feeding the goats their breakfast and watching the cows and horses in the field. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. I highly recommend staying at The Miller Homestead. We will definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in Hershey again.

Tranquil home base

  • 5 of 5

We got more than expected on this choice. What a lovely setting on rolling farmland. During a hectic family wedding weekend this was the perfect home base to regroup and prepare for festivities. The interior has everything you might need and is clean and spacious. But our favorite thing by far was the wrap-around porch for reading and sipping coffee on the rocking chairs or hammock. Our daughter even took her book and coffee out in the lawn and sat under the big tree facing the pasture. We hope to return soon to this sweet spot.

Nice quiet place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Miller Homestead, it was the perfect "home away from home" for our Hershey Park vacation. Mim & Clair were very welcoming and helpful with information about the area. We had everything that we needed available to us to cook our meals and relax when we weren't about sightseeing. We would love to come back someday if we get the chance to travel to the area again. Great place!

Beautiful Farm Stay

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to stay for our family trip to the Hershey attractions. The farm was a beautiful and peaceful setting to return to after our busy days. The kids really loved feeding the goats, watching the cows graze, and the evening stroll on the walking trail. Every detail of the apartment and farm was immaculate and serene. We hope to return and will definitely allow for more time to just hang out and enjoy the farm. We recommend this rental for anyone visiting the area. Clair and Mim are gracious hosts, thank you so much for a great weekend.

A relaxing beautiful retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time staying here! Mim and Clair were very warm and welcoming. Mim knew of the best local places to go, and even brought us strawberries from her garden on the second day. The apartment was a great home base for our daily excursions, but we often enjoyed just spending time on the property. We took evening strolls, read on the porch, enjoyed watching a passing thunderstorm, and layed out on the lawn watching fireflies. We had our 8 month old baby with us, so the nicely decorated, but simple and well stocked apartment was perfect. Adults and baby included, loved meeting all the farm animals too. We loved our visit and return in a heartbeat!
