This property is convenient to everything the area offers. It is located in the center of everything, yet quiet, secluded and protected with extensive security including a maned guard house, security wall/fence and cameras.

The property is adjacent to a bike path and jogging trail leading to every part of the islands. Wild life and natural beauty, including an on the marsh location provides spectacular views and privacy, with an Eagles nest in the back yard/marsh and frequent visits from white tail deer.

The home includes a media room, whole house audio/stereo system and televisions in every room with cable and direct tv, plus internet, computer, printer, fax and scanner.

Loved this Lake Cottage!!

We loved our stay at this lake cottage. The Lake Cottages neighborhood was peaceful and beautiful! The location was convenient to Sea Island beach club, Cloister and to the Lodge. We rode our bikes to the beach club daily! The cottage was perfectly equipped and very comfortable for our two families. The owners were extremely accommodating and very helpful upon arrival and during our stay!

Comfortable, clean home to include all amenitities in a convenient, upscale area of St. Simon's

Eagles Watch is in a beautiful complex that is quiet and well maintained. The house was clean, included expected amenities and the layout was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen included the tools, pans and other gadgets needed to make meals but many of these items were well worn and could be replaced for those of us who do make many of our meals while we are away from home.

The location of the house was very convenient. It is located very near Sea Island and stores. To visit the downtown area, historical sites, the beach and the airport, is a short drive.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Eagles Watch because we were able to relax in a beautiful, quiet setting on St. Simon's Island. We would rent this home again in the future.

Peaceful marsh view and great location

We just visited this wonderful townhouse and felt at home right away. Everything is as described, only better when you get to experience it in person!

The eagles obliged and flew out of the nest as we walked out onto the porch. The house is immaculate and very comfortable.

We were visiting for a special family event (Mom's 90th) and had family spread out all over Sea Island. Everyone who walked into the Lake Cottage said, wow!

We look forward to returning and thank the Gordons for their gracious hospitality!

Comfortable cottage just over the causeway from the Sea Island gates

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property. The house itself is very nice, quite comfortable and had plenty of space for two families. Its proximity to Sea Island was useful, since we were spending a lot of time with friends who live in the Cloisters. Be aware, though, that the cottage is across the causeway from Sea Island, so there's a very short drive or bike ride to get there. For us, it was no problem--in fact, we preferred the proximity to The Market, across the street, which is a great place for coffee and gourmet treats.

Great round dining table that comfortably sat eight, with a nearby smaller table. We were able to do a big dinner for 12 without any problems.

Similarly, the screened porch is lovely, with a great grill. Excellent for entertaining or lounging.

Master suite is huge, comfortable, with excellent bathroom.

Comfortable den with a big-screen TV, which worked well for Thanksgiving football. Worth noting that, if it's critical for you to have a massive television in the main entertaining area, this isn't the house for you. There is a small TV in the living room, which was no problem for us. We didn't go down to Sea Island primarily to watch TV!

I would have no qualms about staying here again or recommending it to others. However, a couple of things that may be useful for people to know:

> The house can easily accommodate a lot of people, since 3 of the 4 bedrooms have two beds each. However, that makes it a bit awkward for two families, since there isn't the equivalent of a second master. If you are looking for a place where two couples can both feel as if they have their own master--or, at least, a bedroom with a king bed--this isn't the ideal set-up.

> The house is listed as having an elevator--and it does, but it had been switched out of running mode when we arrived and the key was gone. Not a problem for us. We didn't mind climbing the stairs with bags and groceries, but if you are trying to accommodate someone elderly. etc., it would be wise to consult with the owners in advance.

> The pool and hot tub do not appear to be maintained for use in the off-season. Again, not a problem for us since we purchased guest passes to the Cloisters and used their facilities, but talk to the owners about when the pool is available if you are going off-season, to avoid surprises.

Owner's Response: Thank you of your well considered review. We sincerely appreciate the time you took to write about our property. We agree with your comments -- except re: the elevator. We just arrived at our home for a long weekend and the elevator is actually working....the gate was not closed and therefore the elevator wouldn't move until the gate is secured. We regret it didn't operate for your stay. We will leave more clear directions in the "hospitality " section of VRBO to help future guest and we will leave an instruction sheet in the unit as well -- thank you for brining this to our attention. The living room does have a smaller TV as you point out. We like the living room as a place to gather without the distraction of television and have perhaps incorrectly concluded the adjoining media room is a better alternative; however, we are reconsidering this decision in light of your comments. Likewise, the 'guest bedroom' is as large as the master -- except for a smaller bathroom -- and perhaps, not as well appointed. Accordingly, we are going to redecorate the large guest room and add some art work so it is more in line with the master! You make a good point. We are glad you like the location - as do we -- and that you would consider returning. We look forward to welcoming you all back. Again, thank you of your review! John Gordon

We have enjoyed this beautiful home many times over the years. We visit with family and friends for 2 weeks each summer. We have also rented the home for Thanksgiving (an incredible time of year in Sea Island).

The property is immaculate; has every modern convenience; graced with very special contemporary artwork; conveniently located just 5 minutes by car to the the Sea Island resort; and is managed by accommodating, responsive owners! We really can't say enough about how much we enjoy this property!

Beautiful Sea Island home in private neighborhood with pool. Great house for families. Short bike ride to Beach Club or Cloister. Wonderful owners who were very accommodating. We will definitely return!
