1 Bedroom 1 Bath With Family Room/ Kitchen With Private Cove
Why Tom&Ann Petersen chose Tower
We knew the previous long-time owner of this property. Several of our family members worked for them over the years, helping with the island garden. Remnants of the gardens are still there, although they are getting overgrown. This cabin was used as his family's guest cabin. It was handcrafted by another Island resident's father in the late 1950's. Our daughter was greatly influenced by this family and they were helpful and encouraging, helping her choose her career. It then came into the family ownership and was used privately until Grandpa couldn't manage island life.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin feels romantic- sorry fisherman- but it does! The quiet surroundings, the tall pines, the lake lapping softly at the rocks on the shore. The haunting calls of the loons just make all your cares disappear. Island living isn't for everyone, it is a unique way of life.

Labor Day Weekend
Second time staying at cabin, second great experience. Tom is all over the reservation and check in with texts, emails and phone calls. Several follow ups with with fishing tips when he checked to see how our stay was going.
The new fire pit was great. We used it every night. We were lucky enough to catch a show of the Northern Lights. Cabin faces North with an outstanding view over of the water.
Fortune Bay Casino is a quick trip about 12 mile down Hwy 77 and is always fun for a night. Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park is a must do especially if you have kids. The cabin may be on an island but there is no shortage of things to see and do.
Thanks Tom and Ann. Looking forward to returning soon.
Everything you could want for a great vacation! Just a short boat ride from the landing, awesome fishing right near the cabin, quiet calm cove, best of all..... beautiful, clean cabin, w/ everything you’ll need for some rest and relaxation😊
Great time, thanks!
We had a great time at the cabin. The cabin is so clean and had everything we needed, everything was so well maintained. I love how close and easy it was to get to from Moccasin Point. It was the perfect getaway spot! We will definitely be back and I will be recommending this cabin to my friends and family. Thanks again!
Cozy cabin on Grove Island
Our 2nd trip to this cozy cabin, very easy to get to from Moccasin Point. Everything we needed was in the cabin, clean and ready to go. Thank you Tom and Ann for another great experience!
This cabin is a real gem. We love coming up here to fish, relax, and just enjoying the peace and quiet and beauty of the north woods.
All the comforts of home are here for you to enjoy.
Lake Vermilion is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country, according to National Geographic Magazine. This cabin was hand-crafted and recently brought back to life. It served as the guest cabin for the long-time owner. It is quiet, tucked away into the hill surrounded by massive pine trees, it has been described as elegant and charming. The private cove provides easy docking, fishing and swimming. The proximity to the BWCA entry point #1- Trout Lake, makes this an ideal base camp. Loons frequent the cove in the evening hours. It is close to several marinas and Moccasin Point Public Landing.
